    Your channel is amazing. So inspiring…reassuring…validating…ya know, that sort of thing. No selling, spoofing, clowning. Like being in a workshop. So groovy. Thank you!

    You’re the one I go to when I need help dialing in the Stomp. You know how to appropriate gain structure and EQ better than most. Really appreciated

    It’s crazy how good L6 did with their own amps. They’re all really good.

    • @literalghost929
      @literalghost929 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, pretty much all the amps are great imho. I don't love them all; got my favorites; but those that don't seem that great when you try them, I'm sure that the the amp isn't the problem, it's the user. And you'll find people who absolutely love the amp and make them sound fantastic!

    John, I agree 100% on these amp choices. Great playing with great tone. Thanks!

    This changes every other week but Fender type amps I love the Deluxe vibrato channel, and for more vintage Marshall tones the Park I think does a better job than any other Marshall models on the stomp!

      @timeconsumer325 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, pretty much every demo I record at home is that deluxe vibrato channel with one of 3 or 4 drives in front of it. Ep booster, POT, timmy, or sd1, generally

    Really love the Ventoux too because of its sensivity to the drive and mid controls !

    Beautiful guitar playing and great vids. You have been an inspiration for me in buying a helix floor last year. I have gigged with it now dozens of times and feel I’ve only scratched the surface with it. Your vids are still inspiring me to try new things with it. Keep up the great work.

    Hi John, I've requested this before but don't know whether you've seen it or not; could you do a video looking into the various legacy effects in the Helix? Was thinking either a comparison between like-for-like effects, such as the Helix modeled Tubescreamer vs the legacy Tubescreamer. Or just a look into which of the legacy effects that haven't been remodeled are worth using.
    Will be purchasing a Helix within the next couple of months and your channel has been a godsend for getting clued up beforehand, appreciate all the work you do and I look forward to trying out some of your presets in the near future.

    Hi. Nice video John. Lots of good info and great tone and playing. Any chance you could share the blocks you are using after the amp in this vid like speaker cabinet, reverb and delay types. Thanks, Edley

    Hey John, thanks for suggesting these amps. May I ask, what cab + IR combination did you use for these tones? I purchased your patches, but I always use the MESA IR.

    • @literalghost929
      @literalghost929 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      If you're looking for a great IR, try finding the best IR. That's not sarcastic; "THE BEST IR IN THE WORLD! (free) - Fractal Audio Systems Forum". In my experience, it may well be the best IR in the entire universe. Definitely an IR that works for everything, it's really that good, I use it on like 99% of my patches...!

    Do you find with overdrive and distortion petals like the Diana That to really get their tone out gain needs to be turned up quite high I noticed you had that 1 above 9

    Great how You show on the unit itself:) Ratt vibes going on riff wise here:)

  • @literalghost929
    @literalghost929 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Agreed! The Archetype is also excellent, both it and the Placater are definitely my 2 favorites heavy distortion amp, with the Benzin lol And Revv too!
    I've not played much the Matchless, but tried it a bit more yesterday and yeah there's some cool things you can do with it! That's the issue with the Go and others... They do take a ton of time to learn and experiment with, and if you're not using it 'right', because you don't have the skills and knowledge, you're not using the unit to its full potential.
    That's where L6 Helix stuff kinda fails imho... I'd guess it's much easier to dial in a Katana, because everything is just 'there'; much easier to use just out of the box; less settings, but it gets you there right away... With Go and others, their presets are meh, and tweaking teh amp, cab, etc., waaay more trouble than it should be imho. IRs make it simpler, but
    The Duo divided 13 something something is another amp which supposedly is fantastic, like one of the best amp out there, but..... For the life of me, I can't get it do what I want, and can't seem to figure out how it's supposed to sound great ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    Hey man, video idea... would you consider doing patch reviews on the channel? Viewers sending you a preset with a description of their particular use case, maybe alongside the 'buy me a coffee' link so you get an idea of who's taking it seriously. Huge engagement boost, revenue stream if each submission incurs a charge, and I think it'd be really interesting content seeing what feedback you'd provide as someone who's making patches all day of every day... would do it myself if I had a platform!

    i would realy love to see behing the camera...the light setup, what lense and distance of the camera. Struggling to make a decision to record such shots in my living room . Aiming on the Lumix GH5 II but dont know what lense to use, i dont realy have much space so the camera will be close.... great sound as always mate

    I was reading these comments on Tuesday evening (7/11) and I thought I saw a message pop up on my screen from someone, John? Asking if I owned Trainwreck "Ingrid"? Unfortunately I don't, though I may be able to find out... as it happens I was thinking that a TW "Rocket" may be more up your alley. Also look at the Alessandro range of amps - like the Beagle, or Komet Amps - Hogy knows more about Ken Fischer's mindset when it comes to tone than probably almost anyone. Pete.
