This feels less like an actual full game and more of the devs making a small spinoff taking all the fan favorite mechanics and bosses from other games and throwing them together in a small game with high replay value because the runs are apparently gonna have some randomization in the enemies and such and will likely randomize the loot drop so you start with nothing but a basic class set and have to make do with the gear you get. Does actually sound pretty fun.

I am not hyped, in fact I'm worried. To me it doesn't look like something Miyazaki would want to do; feels exploitative of nostalgia and fans in general, like throwing cameos in a Marvel movie. Elden Ring with battle passes and gacha and everyone is acclaiming it. I hope I'm wrong.
Armored Core V showed that Fromsoft can make a good multiplayer focused game but seeing copy pasted bosses from previous Dark Souls games and with the website confirming that you can't make actual builds but instead have to play as "unique" heroes has me very cautiously optimistic. Especially as someone who primarily plays Fromsoft games for their unique multiplayer I know that the normies WILL NOT survive the netcode if they don't fully rebuild it.

I don't know if you noticed, but the lava area is the Demon Ruins from DS1 - they fly right towards the bit of the Catacombs that are poking through the wall
if you looked any deeper into their games you know they recycle tons of stuff. so probably just taken the models, upped their graphics and ran with it. wont complain tho
My guess is that the gate at the end is similar to the painting in darksouls and connects the Elden ring universe to the Dark Souls one.

Armored Core V showed that Fromsoft can make a good multiplayer focused game but seeing copy pasted bosses from previous Dark Souls games and with the website confirming that you can't make actual builds but instead have to play as "unique" heroes has me very cautiously optimistic. Especially as someone who primarily plays Fromsoft games for their unique multiplayer I know that the normies WILL NOT survive the netcode if they don't fully rebuild it.
The most insane thing for me is the fact namless is somehow here, it means the dark souls and Elden ring are in the same universe, and it opens up idea of other souls bosses being here! Artois, midir, Gael! I’m so hyped man

Nah imo we had some crazy super powers in ds1-ds3. Spells have always been insane, elden ring kept them that way.
Elden ring is litterally the only one that is like that unless your're over optimising.
@@In-Nihilum I'm not so sure. The craziest spells in early souls would be mid or low tier compared to Elden Ring's destroyer of worlds magic and back then weapons were just weapons and not vessels for special skills.
I love Elden Ring but I would like another game that invokes that slow King's Field struggling to survive vibe.
