My man Gavin "Gavin" Biggsley is a level 5 slicer *and* a tech support specialist. He's literally the only guy they needed there since he can slice 14 computers at once.

well, in reality, a team of expert level computer scientist is pretty useful. A lot of war these days is through cyber warfare, and finding top level talent in the field is harder than finding competent soldiers. Not only that, but technology is becoming far more prevalent on the battlefield as well. There are many machines that operate these days without in person human operators from drones to even some things like tanks.
My TTRPG group has one guy who will always play a hacker if the game system has it as an option. This is basically a gathering of all of his characters from modern/futuristic games.

I like the random amongus crewmate that was such an elite hacker he erased his introduction from the video. I bet he knows how to swipe keycards at the perfect speed.
He's so subtle I didn't even notice him, and neither did the script writer at the end when they wrote about how they conveniently needed 9 simultaneous hacks. Amogus must be so advanced at hacking that he can code himself in and out of the universe on a whim, truly the most dangerous of the Alpha Force team.

A good hacker could prevent manual override and take control of the software. Assuming this war takes place in the modern day (based on the fact that there’s such a large technical team in the military) they would definitely use similar or better turret software. Also every time I see one of your shorts while scrolling I watch the full video
