@@Coolgamer400 it's reflecting red from the outside, therefore blocks red light for the driver making the blues and greens more prominent as you can see in the video. Honestly it looks disgusting and serves no benefit, but it's a VW so I'm not surprised.

Im curious about that. Does the Golf R not have Heat exchangers or a seperate oil cooler? My Rs3 has an Oil-Water heat exchanger and ive yet to see it reach 110°C, rarely going over 105, no matter the weather (Stage 1, prefacelift 367hp->420hp). radiators should be the same, (same platform and all) so the cooling capabilites should be somewhat similar even if the front on the audi is more open. tho ive only driven it once on the ring. But even repeated pulls, "overenthusiastic" backroads driving and back to back 1/4 mile runs on a dragstrip during a very hot day never got it to 110.

this car is almost doubling the stock power, u cannot compare it with a 5cyl 2.5 engine with just stage1, when u go over stage2 its dificult the keep the temps nice for the length of a full nur lap@@MigotRen

That also happened to me during a trackday. That's because the oil temperature on the DSG was too high. Improving the oil cooler for the DSG is one of the proper solutions.
Also consider this gearboxes are extremely delicate regarding the oil itself, so a bad choice of quality + viscosity is dangerous AF.

ich bin, ebenfalls wie du, insane gehyped für die aktuelle Saison. Letztes Jahr war schon wild auf deinem Kanal mitzuverfolgen und nun geht‘s direkt so los - Hammer!
Mein Lieblingsskigebiet ist tatsächlich der Skicircus in Saalbach. Die Infrastruktur dort ist wirklich traumhaft und die Schneelagen oft unglaublich, worduch die Powder Days für mich dort immer ein Traum gewesen sind. Im Februar hab ich mir nur leider mein Knie zerfetzt, aber die Ärzte und Physio haben gute Arbeit geleistet, diese Saison geht‘s wieder steil!

Example: I would not have guessed a $2600 KW Coilover kit would be this stressed/overwhelmed on track.

I think the plate in the front are cozing the heat coz of the radiators are there!! the front plate blocking the wind that goes to the front radiators

swaping to a dq500 would be a good idea considering the level of power he is handling, have seen a couple of golf Rs awapping it for an audi q3, rsq3, ttrs dq500 gearbox and no problem at all, it can handle a lot of power stock ( simple remap can handle 600+ hp)
With 129°C oil temperature in relatively cool surroundings requires additional intercooler for enigne and transmission....

That Golf R looked like it had all the claimed HP... it was quick... and fast.
This is also a good advertisement of why you need an oil cooler. The temps down to well below 120 in the slow short drive back to HQ.
An oil cooler is an engine life extender... or engine saver.
Misha, maybe you have some footage from test driving second generation Megane MK2 RS. Really would like to see the opinion on that platform and how those cars handles, with or without track orientated uprated modifications.

I don't know if this comment will be seen or listened to, but I think it would be really great if the owners of the cars, if they're knowledgeable of what's been done to their car, on what specifically is done. Like if they were to go more in detail of their suspension setups (brands, height, stiffness, camber, caster, etc), as well as any engine mods for power/response (again stating brand, pressures, custom things if needed, etc), & of course aesthesis, for either light weight or functional aero mods use. An in detail in the first bit of the video I think would be sick/great info for many with the same car or looking for something to build & trying to price/sort things out. Just my thought, personally if it were me, I would do that, I think many would like it, & if they don't, there's always a fast forward button for a reason. Thank you :)

We had such tuned cars that did a lot worse on this channel. Given how fast the oil temperature goes up and the original drivetrain is put under extra stress, I guess it wouldn't exactly do the 24 hours but other than that, nice lap. Why did the gearbox cut out, actually?

130 oil temp is perfectly fine. Especially if youre running a good ester based oil. Id be more worried about the trans oil temp.

What was the tyre pressure u running??
"Reverse not available" starting having that on my previous car, VW Arteon with a DSG DQ500. Had to replace the mechatronic. Until I fixed it it would start randomly jumping gears and often refuse to shift up, very unpleasant when it was winter and very slippery.
The gearbox is overheating and not mapped properly to handle the aggressive power
@@Yaboybash yeah its a very ambiguous error message, a friend got it when he had a problem with 1 of the clutches. Funny thing is that reverse was still functioning but the gearbox would only shift into even gears.

Sweet. Looks like a neutral setup. Last Golf R understeered more, I believe. Might just be the tires though, Cup 2 vs. PS4S.
Also always like to see the KW V3 in action, since I am currently thinking about that for mine. It would need to offer a good mix between handling and compliance, which it seems to be able to do - depending on the setting of course, since it's fully adjustable.
do you have DCC in your car and if so, have you thought about the KW DDC?
@@justus9694my car is 30 years old, and my suspension options are very limited. Currently I have a Bilstein B12, which handles well, but is a bit too rough for my taste.
@@stoneeh oops sorry, I was thinking of a Mk7 Golf... I haven't really (for a longer distance) driven a KW suspension yet, can't help you there. It doesn't have a bad reputation though.

If it's a DQ500 DSG, it should be able to hold that power, but maybe its a DQ381 or 250? Anything over 400hp on the EA888 engine starts to get...troublesome and seems not worth the hassle
Golf R gearbox is a DQ381 i believe, the RS3 has the DQ500
The 7.5 R is a DQ381, MK7 is just a DQ250.@@SeanSer
I have 450hp at the wheels on a 2016 with a DQ250. I did upgrade the clutches, but have had no problems with the engine or transmission at that power level.

Surprised you taking the risk driving with that gearbox issue, having that happen at the wrong moment could be catastrophic for the driver and other people on track. Glad nothing bad happened and enjoyed the video. It's not worth the risk imo. take care.

@@BanhChui1968swe functionalities? I'm not sure what u mean? No the windscreen looks oem from the inside of car, no glare or loss of vision. From the outside it has the reflective colour. My old car was pinkish, others are green, blue. U can't see in from the front.
@@TIM612826 I believe I saw some people having windscreens that in lighting gave off the same colours and they said that their windscreen were heat dampening ones. The colours it reflected was just a "byproduct" if you if you will, from the heat dampening film in the windscreen and not due to someone wanting those specific colours. Which is why I wonder if this is the same

I think the engine didn't really like that either, it was basically like a money shift. luckily the car has a rev limiter or it might've blown up, that and also like Misha said in the video 😅 the owner definately needs to get that issue fixed.

Weight reduction, ideal for this car since it already has a nose heavy weight distrubution. Results in better efficiency and dynamics.
