How will this affect the upcoming ability to uninstall Cortana, Edge and Bing etc with the EU member countries settings? You know the recent new EU regulations that forces Microsoft to let the user make their own choices and not force all Microsoft stuff on everyone. "UK", "English" and/or "world" is not a specific EU member country, especially not after Brexit where UK left EU, so maybe you need to chose a country within EU to actually be able to do that? I think Microsoft came out and specifically said that it will be determined by your regional setting on set-up and that they will chose to "trust" what region setting people make to then let that trigger/activate/access the ability to remove those features (edge, bing etc). I think it will become available in April 2024, but I'm not sure if it will only be accessible with new Windows 11 installs, or maybe throgh some update which will even allow it on old installs as long as they did chose a country within EU when it was initially installed/set-up.
Probably mentioned already in the comments, but you can also re-use a OEM key on a new machine by looking for an option in the activation screen along the lines of "i changed my hardware" and it will accept it.

I don't know if this is just me, but doing all of this makes it looks like Windows 11 is having even more of an identity crisis. Sure there are some design elements that lean more into a mobile application, but at least it all fits the same style. You have mixed old Windows 7 and 10 UX design with Windows 11 and in my opinion it looks really bad. There are some pretty nice tips in here though I do appreciate.
Except they dropped the mobile Windows for the phone, which was really good. Redmond copied Google in not sticking with a product until it matured and they’ve regretted it ever since.
the thing with the start button is i dont think i've ever clicked it once, i always use the windows key and type everything, so centered has no real drawbacks for me
@@njbrx honest question, why would rounded corners vs square corners make you angry? 😊 I run win 11 in VMware, and I create the machine as a template VM that I basically make a copy of the template each day making my windows super clutter free and efficient. It's like working in a freshly installed windows machine every day. This essentially creates me a scenario where it is kind of impossible to have a machine that slows down over time. All my work I save online so no real issue deleting it ever day, but I do keep one backup just in case.
I agree with you and 99% of the complaints on windows 11 changing stuff doesn't bother me because I use windows hotkeys. I didn't used them before buying my 32inch ultrawide 2k monitor but learning them made me so much more faster. Start menu moving around? You have a god damn windows key on every keyboard that opens the start menu. The new right clic menu is less cluttered, the most used options are at the top, it's better organized and it tells you the hotkeys. People complains about the system trays and the sound settings... IDK about you but I use the volume mixer only when I set up the volume for an app. Once done I only need the general volume or the volume bar/option in the app (eg: youtube or games) which is faster to use than opening the volume mixer. I have a much easier time navigating the setting menu and I'm much faster at finding the specific option I want vs control pannel but not every options are available there. Is Win 11 perfect? No! Did it removed some options? Yes. It's still much better than windows 10 or 8 as far as modern windows goes.
I have been using an app called MyTiles for windows 10, allowed me to use any picture for the tiles in win 10 start menu. Now my question is, will it still work if I upgrade my win10 to 11 and follow that guide but just change the menu win10 style instead of win7? Because I'd like to update since win10 will stop being supported in like a year or so but I hate win11 with passion for reasons you have mentioned
The second time-sink when setting up a new PC is setting up the browser. I use Firefox sync which handles Firefox settings and installing extensions, but the extensions reset back to their default. I always end up having to go into each extensions' settings on my daily PC and manually exporting settings from each individual extension, assuming the extension has that feature. If anyone knows of any way to automate this, I'd love to know.
I have just moved the whole Firefox app data folder before when migrating PCs. Haven't done that for many years now, but could be good thing to try out.
Can you put the taskbar anywhere but the bottom? I hated that Windows 11 forced it to be down there. I used to use the taskbar on the side of the screen. I ended up switching to Linux, but still curious.
I moved the taskbar with a registry hack a while back btw - it did not work well the moment I plugged in a second monitor and had a lot of glitchy behavior re system tray, so explorer patcher sounds like a better solution.
We're trying to avoid cruft. Windows 11 plus VLC covers your need of codecs. K-Lite Codec Pack is recommended only for users of classic Windows Media Player in the rare instance that an old unpopular codec is needed.
I also like left taskbar (even though I don't have Windows 11) because I can just take my mouse, move it at the bottom left of my screen, and click. Now I am inside of the start menu. And because it moves when it's in the center, then I don't know where my start menu button is (I know, I can use the Windows key).
Hell yeah, thanks a lot! I've been without a computer since 2015. I'm just now setting up my new pc. I've used other PCs with Windows 11 and I didn't like how they changed so much stuff. How do you set everything up is exactly how I like my shit to be. 🤘🏼

Just watched this video and the full ExplorerPatcher video based off a TH-cam recommendation. Very helpful video and I'll definitely be using some of the software shown in the future. I'm curious if you know about Winaero Tweaker, which is a software I've been using for years to force Windows to work how I want. If you have, what are your opinions on it versus ExplorerPatcher? They both have features that do the same stuff, like fixing 11's compressed context menus, but then both vary in many other things. Would you ever use Winaero Tweaker?
ChatGPT just gave me a good comparative analysis of Winaero Tweaker vs ExplorerPatcher. Both tend to have issues after major Windows updates, but generally less catastrophic with Winaero Tweaker. With either, I'm thinking it would be wise to delay Windows updates and to keep an eye on user forums for reports of problems.
Saving, favoriting and bookmarking this vid for the future. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar. Before this vid I was dreading the potential day when I'd be forced off Win 10 due to security updates ending in 2025. Now at least I know how to make Windows 11 way less crap.

I absolutely love this, thanks a ton! I had a question that I'm not able to find an answer for anywhere else.... Is there an alternate command prompt you know of that can run batch files in Win11? Or is there a way through the Patcher to make the cmd prompt function as it does on Win10? I ask because I run batch files in there and in Win10, it showed every instance that occurred as it happened. On Win11, it only shows 1 line and that's it so I can't check it like a log to see what actions it's been taking. Thanks!

Only because this video pre-dates the release by Micro$oft; get the Windows 11 IoT LTSC. It is already bloat free. I've been doing most of this on my new PC setups for customers but I've noticed that a lot of the bloatware apps reinstall themselves after manual uninstall with every major Win11 update. Perhaps it's limited to pre-built PC's - I've noticed some of the extra OEM apps like MyHP reappear too - but is there a way to edit that list of apps that it'll continually fight you on and reinstall?

Finally swithed to W11 since W10 won't be supported for much longer, can't thank you enough you enough for this tutorial and other useful information on this channel. Thank you Logan!
Windows was originally developed as a desktop OS, but starting with Windows 8, Microsoft tried to make it both a desktop and mobile OS.
Indeed... They tried to copy Apple's success with tablets... and it's been a mess since.
Except they dropped the mobile Windows for the phone, which was really good. Redmond copied Google in not sticking with a product until it matured and they’ve regretted it ever since.
why did i just do the entire process to go from win11 home to win 11 pro and it didn't do anything when i put the commands in?
Kind sir, you deserve a medal for this video :D
the thing with the start button is i dont think i've ever clicked it once, i always use the windows key and type everything, so centered has no real drawbacks for me
good point... but I also keep my icons in order, so I don't like those moving either. But whatever works for you is good.
I don't know what microsoft was snorting when they made windows 11
real question is after redoing all this doesn't it slow down cause it's working in a different way it was designed to ?
Whats the wallpaper background?
I actually like the minimalism of windows 11, I keep it as is, but I also do remove all the unnecessary apps and disable notifications etc
the rounded corners on Windows 11 make me unreasonably angry, main reason why I have considered downgrading to Windows 10 😢
@njbrx you would HATE unixporn lmao
Question: If I already have windows activated, will that powershell command work to upgrade me to pro?
You sir, are a computing god, subscribed
14:22 I have been looking everywhere to get rid of that white line, thanks a ton mate!
Drove me crazy for a while too until I accidentally discovered this.
Where about do I right-click?
Can you put the taskbar anywhere but the bottom? I hated that Windows 11 forced it to be down there. I used to use the taskbar on the side of the screen. I ended up switching to Linux, but still curious.
indeed. you can put it anywhere with explorer patcher. Also works on Windows 10... left, top, etc.
@teksyndicate explorer patcher does seem like the perfect thing to fix win11.
Good to know if I ever need to use win11
I moved the taskbar with a registry hack a while back btw - it did not work well the moment I plugged in a second monitor and had a lot of glitchy behavior re system tray, so explorer patcher sounds like a better solution.
@Yvng_remixer On Linux, you can do it by right clicking the taskbar and pressing a button! :)
We're trying to avoid cruft. Windows 11 plus VLC covers your need of codecs. K-Lite Codec Pack is recommended only for users of classic Windows Media Player in the rare instance that an old unpopular codec is needed.
For uninstalling the bloatware, have you tried the utility created by Chris Titus? I find it useful especially the old version.
thank you from someone using 11 and thinking FFS a lot of the time. I can know adjust how i want the interface :)
All I want is to create a new toolbar on the taskbar like you can on 10, can you do that with this?
I also like left taskbar (even though I don't have Windows 11) because I can just take my mouse, move it at the bottom left of my screen, and click. Now I am inside of the start menu. And because it moves when it's in the center, then I don't know where my start menu button is (I know, I can use the Windows key).
Hell yeah, thanks a lot! I've been without a computer since 2015. I'm just now setting up my new pc. I've used other PCs with Windows 11 and I didn't like how they changed so much stuff. How do you set everything up is exactly how I like my shit to be. 🤘🏼
I've bought a new laptop with win 11 home and I saw this video showing a way to upgrade windows 11 home to pro without the need to reinstall windows and so I've bought a win 11 pro key but that did work.
So is there any way or method to upgrade to windows 11 pro without the need of reinstalling the whole OS ?
no its not! because you changing OS , you changing product
I installed explorer patcher but the apps don't want to align with windows logo on the left, they sit in the middle
explorer patcher is actually genius, it makes windows 11 so much better to use lol, LOVE IT
I have win 10 on Mac boot camp, how can I delete one drive? I get tired of it telling me to buy more space , I have 2 tb hard drive don’t need one drive
Try winaero tweaker
I just want to be able to put the Taskbar over on the vertical Left where it doesn't get in the way. Why did they remove that option? I hate them for that. The UI is so awful in general.
for the context menu I use nilesoft shell, it's open source and really functional and costumizable
I kinda forgot about the start menu I just use power powertoys run. Fun fact if you install flow launcher with matching keybinds the windows key will open powertoys instead of flow launcher.
*edit* i had enabled the windows key plugin in flow nd forgot
Will Windows Still auto
Activate if your "key" is tied to your ms account??
Saving, favoriting and bookmarking this vid for the future. You sir are a gentleman and a scholar.
Before this vid I was dreading the potential day when I'd be forced off Win 10 due to security updates ending in 2025. Now at least I know how to make Windows 11 way less crap.
Were would you get the office software for the key?
What Linux distro are you using that doesn't have a "start" like button? Most have a menu, they just don't call it "start" and ones in the center do move around. Unless you are just using ROFI or something like that.
Most likely a TWM such as i3 or xmonad if there's no start button, distro doesnt matter in that casee
I have several servers running without a gui.
@@teksyndicate nice. We used to have CS servers with just command prompt running in UW servers way back in the day. We just ssh into them lol. We finally got caught.
How do we restore the Line that we got rid of when we locked the toolbar?
Am I correct that you can skip buying all that OEM key stuff if you just paid $9000 for a brand new top of line computer with all the bells and whistles or do I still need OEM keys?
did it come with windows? if so, you're good to go.
Why are you clicking on start, hit the windows key and start typing and it will magically find it, then hit enter. Mouse is superfluous even in windows
didnt work, just takes me to settings to upgrade to windows 11 pro in store or with a pk after doing the changepk command prompt
Great video! I'm sure someone already said it, but you can right click on the start button, go to system, click on change product key, paste that new key in and press next should active Windows without the CMD prompt for simps like me!
how to fix windows 11: make it windows 10
Excellent advice, great video. You may want to blur your details, order numbers, and keys though.
Just switched from win 10 to 11 with a new build . I loved 10 but didn’t want to be that one guy stuck behind 😂 didn’t know about a lot of these tricks ! 👍🏻
This is a very well done video which allows many of the best functions to return very easily, thanks for the exceptional effort.
I found an even better way to install windows 11 without any kind of account, no AI gimmicks, no blot-ware, no recording every keystroke I make, and no key needed. Install Linux Mint and never look back.
Hey, if I replace with Open Shell, will I be able to make Home/Start Menu back into Full Screen like I was able to in Windows 10?
It's for Win95/XP/7 style start menu. Try start11
Thanks!
go to windows dev mode and you can change everything there! and sudo works with the new w11 update :)
I tried to do the upgrade to pro but because it was already activated and registered it did not work. Just an FYI.
I actually prefer having the icons centre of the taskbar now. Makes more sense to me...
5:37 this isn't game bar itself this is the XBOX Controller shortcut, read it well
This makes me question if i even want to update to windows 11 once windows 10 support ends or just delete the windows 10 from grub and format the drive it's on.
This was an incredibly valuable video for me. I have been looking for an alternative to the windows 11 taskbar for quite a while now, and this will do the trick. Microsoft has something with fixing what is not broken
Man, this guy really knows his stuff. He's amazing. I wonder if he knows linux also.
Only because this video pre-dates the release by Micro$oft; get the Windows 11 IoT LTSC. It is already bloat free. Similar to using the World (English) region trick to get a de-bloated install.
*NOTE* it takes a different key if I understand things correctly. I have a MSDN account, so it wasn’t an issue for me. Just double check what you need before installing.
I have Windows 11 IoT setup in a VM, and running my favorite MMO with no issues. Installed Razer software for my mouse and keypad.
if you purchase a PC with Win11 Home already, does this Powershell trick work in that case as well (if we didn't purchase an OEM key)?
Well, you can't upgrade to pro without a key. I made this video on a mini PC that I just got (video soon)... but it only came with windows 11 home, so the upgrade is real and I used one of the keys! lol.
you can do it google and you find it pretty quick!
I tried this for a while and I've decided to go back to default Windows 11, I just don't know how to :/
win 11 classic address bar no longer works as of the newest windows update it just sets it back to the default one and you can no longer drag and drop just so you know
Dude. This RULES! I just bought new computers for the wife and myself and was DREADING the windumb 11 OS interface. Thank you so much!
Your mice are awesome, I would order another, but even with 50 percent off, the postage is still WAY more than the mouse itself :( My budget just can't deal with that I'm afraid. For anyone else considering one - do it.
awesome but runs off, my partner used my PC one day and somehow the Fenix attached to it reappeared on her PC, yeah it was a really nice one too while I had it.
OldNewExplorer is aslo good addition. Start11 is another solution for taskbar if explorer patcher registry fix win10 taskbar stops working in 2024 update.
Someone mentioned that when you install Windows to select English world instead of us to avoid bloat. Not sure if there's another way
thats because you havent delete "orginal" windows configurations if you reset bios and pop out the bios battery (forgot totally what it calls now) then start the pc config your bios how you want it if you know what to do if not only activate tpm 2.0 and then install a fresh copy of windows 11! and then you dont get third party softwares besides microsoft products
tbf alot of the settings are for Handhelds and Touch Screens shame they dont do a Handheld version because thoose Buttons are too Small too press with a Touch Screen hence the bigger Style buttons make it easier for us on a Handheld
