Here’s a tip I learned, if you’re reinstalling windows, in the language and region options; change it to English (World). That way it won’t install or have any of that TikTok, Kindle stuff on your start menu so you don’t have to waste time with that. If you need the Microsoft Store again, because it won’t work if you change it to World, then just change your region to the US or whatever under the region settings.
once you change those, those useless apps will install with next major update, it's less hassle to install language/region version you really want, not change it later..
Sometimes it's called English global, it changes its name every once in awhile, so just look for something that fits if you can't find one particular nomenclature. Also whatever you do, make sure you are not connected to the internet until you were done configuring and debloating your setup.. download your drivers on your phone or on another computer from the manufacturer's websites and disable the Windows automatic driver, you don't want to have that.. especially on account of how much infighting those two will often do. I recommend Alt f3, open up the command prompt after the English global part, and then log into the default admin account, thus bypassing the entire everything else that will be adding extra steps you'll have to undo at every turn through the rest of the process. From there, right click on the start menu, going to administrative tools.. May not be the same process on 11 anymore, but essentially you want to get into group policy editor, which is another reason why home is no longer an option for Windows. With group policy editor you can make your admin user account, then you just simply log out, or restart. I don't recommend necessarily doing your setup and configuration on the default admin account, I had mixed results and I ended up going through everything again anyways just to be sure so.. can't advise one or the other with confidence, but I'm leaning towards doing it as a user, since you're an admin user anyways. Essentially Windows pro is now the home version, and the pro version is now the unobtanium unicorn Enterprise edition, and it's better to just leave your account un activated if you don't want to shell the extra cash right away as you will save yourself a mountain of headaches in future efforts and misery, and current misery that you will have to be doing with the home version in order to just get the starting. I would also highly recommend that you do not download any of your hardware vendors bespoke all in one packages, find the driver for the thing.. there's not that many, things like chipset audio graphics etc from the respective places, and just that alone.. All of them have massive bloatwares and all of their update services are going to be just as problematic as windows is in that regard.. always know what you're updating, and only update if you need to. you will find a much more tranquil and stable experience that way lol.. unless you happen to update right on a particular fail, which is surprisingly common, given the Zeitgeist of always get your updates for things. Group policy editor is going to be your right hand, to things like administrative services and task manager on your left to get started.. you can disable things in in the services menu and you need to, but you'll need group policy editor to make sure they stay disabled. Another thing I would highly recommend is to rip up as much of the peer-to-peer Windows update system as you can, they will never respect the input you put in, make no mistake Windows wants you to be constantly updating other computers around you with their updates.. and they don't care about upload bandwidth in modern America, being not so modern usually lol. This is one of the reasons why update is this mandatory thing, not the only but one of the big ones.. essentially the best way to go, I've found, is to set your connection, all of your connections, anyone that you're going to use, as a metered connection. Set the limit to something obscene that you would never actually use, or maybe if you are actually limited with a data cap, as that is a very common thing, put that in of course.. This theoretically is one part of the puzzle to keep windows from doing things with your internet whether you want them to or not.. But it's it's a pretty big one. The global thing is like a it really does help, I spent more time finding the things that I didn't have to do, then the things I did end up doing the first time I did this.. and combined with skipping out of the rest of the setup as well with the command prompt... There are many instructionals on what exactly to type, and when to do it, so just search for that essentially... And the process after that, I wish I could say in an explicit steps, but not only is it an ever-changing problem of what to do about things and what things you don't have to worry about... Like that whole process is a lot worse because, with 10 at least I have the ability to get to the old interfaces and then I can, in an increasingly hacky way at least pend them to the start menu or the taskbar.. The big one being the old control panel. Like the essence of this process really doesn't change, but the names and the severity of various things shift around in the ever convoluted BS, whether that's just because they're a giant company with no coherent capabilities anymore, which is clear, or it's intentional, and they're a giant company with no coherent capabilities as well.. it's just what it is, I did this, I never really had to do anything again, and that blew my mind but, despite that I still have an activated yet, on account of my Microsoft account getting hacked and my OEM key that I got not working in a similar time span.. probably not related.. But be careful.. basically what you lose with not activating is the customizability that they don't want to give you in the first place lol.. most of which you can do the basics.. and the watermark, which since I'm on an OLED I usually reset every few hours in order to get rid of it if I need to, and make sure to turn your screen off.. better to do that, and wait to get a pro version or have your shit all set up, then excess misery.. and I have had very little on this current install.. So I tried detailed instructions, but I've had it deleted three times... No idea if this is more coherent than any of the others, probably isn't, third time is always not the charm for these comments lol especially when you're trying to be brief and you're tired of having to do it over, sorry about all that.. But if anything in here if anything gets red at all at the top or in the middle or anywhere, hopefully it helps :-)

I wish, but I can't. Linux doesn't work with my programs (music creation mostly... And it sucks for modding my games)
That's why I keep Windows around though I'm trying to figure out an audio workflow on Linux. Btw, you do some cool stuff.
Imo its getting rid of windows as fast as possible so microsoft edge has zero chance of opening automatically and installing arch linux
oh my, just to make sure,, does his eyes look like snake eyes?
Step one. Open browser. Download a copy of linux. Step 2 port image to usb. Step 3 boot from usb.. step 4 format hard drive. Step 5 install linux.. step 6 flip off microshaft
Unfortunately, Linux lags waaaaay behind Windows and Mac when it comes to audio. Especially when it comes to VST plugins, which are pretty much indispensable for audio production. I have to dual boot if I want to continue recording music.
@@ShaneSemler rare instance where you have to have windows... Most people can get away and be just fine without microshaft
This is exactly why I'm on windows. My best vsts do not work at all... Music is my life
@@teksyndicate ardour doesnt work for this?
@@Ricks_Radio No. You have to use yabridge for VSTs which doesn’t always work. Also, only the paid version of Ardour has VST support and only on Windows. At least that’s the way it used to be. I haven’t used it in years. And I don’t particularly like Ardour.
really? i feel like malwarebytes has become malware itself.
What? It still ranks toward the top
Wipe the drive and install linux
Delete it
linux with extra steps
Much easier with Linux.
What to do first thing on Windows?
Uninstall it and install Linux instead... :-)
