Have you split the tractor yet. I think you'll find that the engine and starter will both stop at the same point every time and you'll very quickly get fed up sending shards of metal flying round the clutch housing. Hope I'm wrong!
I fished around in there pretty good with a magnet. The flywheel is chewed up in several spots around the flywheel. A broken tooth on the bendex did it. Still starts and runs now.
@@2artactical55 Good for you. I'm just about to pickup a new engine for mine - too much wrong with the old engine. Fingers crossed it goes as well as yours has.

Putting a ring on the flywheel is no problem...Splitting the tractor to get to it is a job.
Oh yeah, it sure is. Pulling the engine is basically taking the entire front half of the tractor apart.
NICE!! Well, at least you don't have to split the tractor!! HAHA!
I'll eventually buy a new starter to save more wear on the flywheel from that broken gear on the starter.
