It is so nice to see what a lovely young man Daniel has grown up into! He used to seem so shy and was settling in to your family, but he has such a great sense of humour and it is really so great to see him now!
Jessika Barnard true I think that the year of traveling and being just with his family was great for bonding
Plus we have to remember that he was learning english too. Maybe he wasn't that shy, so much as just working to understand and communicate. He has gotten so good at english!!
I love how Mike did this and took control and makes it easy on Megan!! Because somehow people think moms should work and do all the cooking and cleaning.

I think Mike is just more the “neat freak” so he takes the initiative. (I mean that in the nicest possible way!!!)
our daughter is 8 and has ADHD and for ages we compensated for her and didn't give her jobs. The school recommended it and her little face came alive when we showed her the chart! She has a role in the house and feels responsible for something and that helps her to respect the space we have! I think it is really empowering to give kids a routine of jobs to do :)

I have also pictured adopting a child as well, from China or somewhere that could give them a better quality of life than in an orphanage.. sorry that I am going on. Cover the inside base of the shoe drawers with newspapers so you can have a disposable protective sheet from all the shoe dirt. Will help make your furniture last longer! The newspapers can absorb moisture and protect the wood too!

Please continue to share that kind of stuff! :) I do not have kids of my own yet, but when I do I am already adopting a lot of approaches I have seen in your family. For example when you shared a long time ago about how you do the kids' birthdays and they can choose how their birthday money is spent. Stuff like that - super fascinates me. Some requests: more grocery/meal prep details and how you do it for such a large family, other family member responsibilities, catch-up time for all those 1-on-1 videos, let the kids make videos again like from when you parents were on vacay, and also more family gathering days. We really appreciate EVERYTHING that you share! What a blessed crew you have!
