    We treat Trump with just like anyone else and he needs to be accountable to his voters and his promises. That's what makes us conservative. We don't worship our political leaders. We need them to do their job and get out of there. That's it.

    Thanks for a well-balanced perspective and for using reason & intellectual creativity when it comes to breaking down our current culture canvas. Also, thank you for pointing out the ALT-RIGHT definition; to not fully discredit the people involved, i believe most of the folks that considered themselves alt-right were swept up and missed the actual definition and are retracting their alt-right allegiances, as I am! (embarrassed that I didn't fully see it).

    • @caesarmatty
      @caesarmatty 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I think he has a constitutional law degree from Harvard, so i'm sure he knows... but i also really doubt he would have let someone like Obama get away with saying that...(as he shouldn't)

    • @davidthoren3548
      @davidthoren3548 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      According to the official White House Gov site, "Under Article II of the Constitution, the President is responsible for the execution and enforcement of the laws created by Congress. Fifteen executive departments - each led by an appointed member of the President's Cabinet - carry out the day-to-day administration of the federal government."
      From what I understand, the constitution doesn't explicitly say HOW the president is to carry out executive order. It is also extremely tough to keep track of all the laws that need to be protected or established. Therefore, the cabinet was set up to give the president the ability to delegate the work into groups of people. Also, there are different departments that handle a different "basket" of issues and/or laws that pertain to that specific area. The Department of Justice is reasonably constitutional because it's job is to enforce laws (as is the role of the executive legislation), and it does many other things within this area.

    • @GRude420
      @GRude420 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Perhaps you should read the third article of the constitution.

    If trade is so bad, then why is the first action of a powerful navy in war to blockade the opposing power. According to protectionist/mercantilist logic, that would be doing a massive favor to the enemy as now all the jobs will come back. But of course it doesn't actually work that way. Bastiat exposed this thinking 200 years ago

    That "other shoe" segment isn't accurate analogy. The accurate analogy would be Obama not persecuting Bush for Iraq war and Hillary not persecuting Trump for any number of his illegal practices.

    • @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD
      @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Persecute Bush for Iraq? Lol... On what grounds would Obama even be able to do such a silly thing? Or is it just an analogy that's meant to be descriptive rather than prescriptive?

    • @AlwaysReason

      Jaesen Tamele
      It's inaccurate, because it's interference of prosecution of political adversaries he's comparing with interference of prosecution of ones own cases. If Trump said he'd stop prosecution of himself, then Ben's analogy would be accurate. But he isn't.

    I honestly believe that President Obama is going to grant Hillary Clinton a midnight pardon, Trump probably knows this. If he downplays his feelings on Hillary, Obama might not feel the need to pardon her in the first place.
    Either way, it isn't a presidential call. At least on paper.

    Bilateral agreements which break down into subsidies protecting American farmers from globalism isn't a bad thing. Other than that not a bad take on good trump / bad trump. i like ben keeps my Trump support honest.

    • @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD
      @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Terrible idea... American Agriculture should die. We could be getting sugar from Brazil for 3¢/lbs... Instead we are buying them from the government @ 30¢/lbs. We are an IT country now; we dominated at agriculture when it was a pivotal part of the American market. Now that other countries do it both better and cheaper, it's just a waste of tax dollars. Not to mention that if you _must_ keep it (US Agriculture) anyway, subsidies kill competition and makes it more expensive for consumers, so cut the government middle man if you must keep a failing industry, and this doesn't even take into account the amount of corn, sugar and other things we pay for in bulk with more than half getting dumped and never consumed. That Brazil sugar tidbit is also why High Fructose Corn Syrup is in fucking everything, cause it's cheaper than importing the heavily taxed imported sugar and even higher costing American made sugar.

    Why would the Alt-Right love someone who downplays the racists and xenophobes as "fringe" if it's not true?
    I consider myself Alt-right because I love memes and the content on /The_Donald, which has over 300k members, and which strictly forbids racism and xenophobia. I don't think the Alt-right has a "very specific" ideology other than being very counter-culture and anti-establishment (less so now that Trump IS the establishment perhaps...)

    A free market would be good , if we the american people were free. We are not . We can not work without being forced to imposed benefits to our selves on the prospective employer. At the same time our employers in the US can not make a deal to hire us without the same. Under this demand of our country, moving out of our country to hire is better for employers, and not better for american workers. Only better for consumers for a while until the wages drop lower and lower as they are doing. Even with our Government producing inflation which is NOT in anyway anyone's cure.
    As a result of this free trade less then 4% of our manufactured goods we consume come from US. Thank God our services can not be easily taken abroad , YET. Free trade will produce less and less until the rest of the accessible world reaches a point of equilibrium. BY THEN OUR COUNTRY'S REGULATIONS WILL KILL US. We can not support all the regulations and have free trade. OUR NATION HAS TO PICK ONE, FREE TRADE OR LESS REGULATIONS. Donald Trump has one of them in his sights. That is a far cry better then the democrats,, which had neither.
