You also didn't plug in the ethernet cable in the blue port which is marked because it's meant for someone actually gaming, it's the fastest port this router provides

Depends on what hardware you’re using to like I use RT-Ax82u & Arris SB8200 with Cat8 ethernet I run close to his speeds. It really depends on your hardware your ISP and your area.

A better router just eliminates potential latency. Increases range and etc with Wi-Fi there are a lot of factors that effect speeds..
BEING Reaper_PUBG MOBILE it doesn’t. If you pay for 100Mbps you will get 100Mbps max: Whether or not you will get those speeds consistently or not will depend on your router/connection. I am guessing he has some sort of Gigabit Internet (1000Mbps which is really fast) His router/wifi will be a big bottleneck. To get that 1000Mbps reliably is a CAT 6 Ethernet. Wifi will not get you those speeds. Too much interference and a lot of other factors such as the bandwidth of your connection.

First time I have seen him on my feed. I usually watch Linus Tech Tips, Bitwit and etc. But the guy’s home page is focused on shoes. He should just stick with shoes for now.
As does cabling. He should use Cat6e (for all wired connections) or get CAT 8 ethernet cables for some future proofing (consistency across the board is key here) to reduce noise & increase speeds further as long as he's paying for higher speeds it will increase consistency and get you closer to what's advertised.. Amongst all the other firmware features on the router itself.
When you are running a speedtest - on higher speed internet connections - it is ideal to specify the testing server instead of letting it automatically choose the speedtest server. For example with my internet (MetroNet) Fiber, if the speedtest connects to other systems, I'll get a drop of 300Mb/s as it's transmitting over the open internet. If I specify the metronet test server, I get 930Mb/s up and down. So in your case, try to specify a FiOS speedtest endpoint and see if that gets you your full advertised speed. Good luck!
ha my internet provider is PTCL and it provides me 6mbps "interrupted" internet. with the world's best 600 ping. almost downloads at 700kpbs better than Seth's
The speed is significant if you do very large file transfers between multiple devices. The AX requires you to have all devices have 10 Gbps adapters to reap max benefits from it. Otherwise just go for the old Rapture model. The network performance is very good but this device does not increase your Internet speed (that's controlled by your Internet Provider). What it does is allow multiple devices to connect to the Internet or to the network without suffering network performance bottlenecks or degradation (for example, four 4K smart TV running and four PC gaming or surfing at the same time).
you kidding right? here im with nearly 11-12mbitps download and 1mbitps upload with 35 ping on test with many slow downs and stuttering into streaming content sometimes
I have a question. I'm looking to buy this or something similar to this. I'm from the uk and i have a contract with BT , the tv provider , can i still get this without having any problems. And would 2 routers work in the same house. I already have a router but it doesn't work with my gaming at all. Its good for the house in general, but when it comes to my gaming its terrible, thats why im thinking of getting 1 router for myself.
Okay so for those that think he's getting the double speed because of the router here's a bit of FIY. The 600mbps speed is actually not true! the thing is that the first router is sending one signal back and forth to the computer because it's only using one antenna, and the Asus one is actually only 300 but is sending 300mbps over multiple antennas so the speed is the same but it sends the connection over more points. Think of it like this you have cargo that fills 2 cars but the cars can only go in one speed over the road so you have to wait for both of the cars to reach the end of the road and back, but if you have 2 roads the cars can go simultaneously in the same speed as before but they now reach the end and back at the same time and are saving some time. However the router is sending info that you get more speed when it actually is not true The true connection speed is in the connection to the main grid and where you connect the router, even if this router shows more speed the speed is just a show and sure it will be faster between the router and computer but not between the router and servicegrid, if you have a certain speed just get a router that fits the speed you have and skip the fancy part if you don't really need it, it's just for show and the router will just collect the packages and hold them until the line between the router and grid is free so stilla waiting. I am studying computer and network enginering so this is not just talk.
That it's so cool man i want to study these things so bad. So basically the antennas on the router are sending more than one signal which simulate a faster internet speed meanwhile it's just the speed of the reception between the router and the computer and the internet speed only depends on the isp right?
@@nightfury8848 that's right the speed between the router and the wall outlet, fiber or what you have for the internet connection is the correct speed, if you have a connection that's rj45 (the fiberconnection) you can for most times connect the computer directly to the outlet and test the speed for the right connection speed without a router in between.
@@Greygonemad ohhh alright and just a thing you said computer and network engineering right? Does it includes coding and stuff like that? And do you study also how it works physically by wave and stuff and how to manufacture it? And do you choose which path you wanna go to? Or you're obliged to study both?
Mock- multimedia over coaxial association. That is a moca dongle/bridge. It generates usable moca throughout the coal plant in the home. You can also use moca bridges to have an almost latency free etherneted connection with near no loss. Moca runs at a maximum of 375 mbps. Or just slightly more.
Thanks for the video. Can you please confirm something for me? What's the actual version of the USB? It is USB 3.1 Gen 1, or USB 3.0? In the official specs, it states USB 3.1 Gen 1, however, the physical port on the router says 3.0, this is also shown in the settings interface in the router. can you please confirm?
ShadowAssassin88 no, wifi and ethernet are two different things. Wi-fi is a way to connect to the router. The ethernet cable (rj-45) is an other way to connect to the router. The router is what gives you access to the internet. The wi-fi is going to be less stable and less performant than the cable. Your internet speed is limited by your ISP plan that you have to pay every month. Your speed will be limited by where you live, if you live in a building, house or if you live in a village, town or city... It depends on multiple variables.
@@NobleApollogaming Ah okay thanks, and yeah I also play a lot of multiplayer games and so I thought I'm gonna need this router in order to get better connection but thanks again for the info
Better stability, excellent mesh, and bottle necks come from your devices and will improve dramatically when you add AX items. I have two of these same exact ROG routers and love them!
MoCa adapter actually puts your Ethernet back over the coax on a different frequency. It’s only used when you don’t have an Ethernet wired house. It takes your main coax that your internet comes in on(tv can also come in on it) but it only comes in on one cable, not the one that goes to all the rooms. MoCa brings internet through coax to all the rooms. You install one coax where the internet/tv comes in, then another one in all the rooms where you want internet
What was the laptop you were using for the speed test? (It looks like you are using a Macbook Pro, which only has 802.11ac) If the laptop only supports 802.11ac, you will be limiting the features (and speeds) capable for you speed demo. You should test against a device that has WiFi 6 or 802.11ax wireless NIC.
Unless your previous router is limiting the internet speed your ISP is providing you, internet speed should not improve. This video should have shown the ISP's internet package then compare it with when you get the new router and see if it adds more speed surpassing what was initially provided to you by your ISP (I doubt it would).
This video uploaded faster than normal.

and here I am, trying to make ends meet with my 5mbps internet.
ha ha, you loser. I've got you beat with AT&T 6mbps.......
When you search for "gaming router" in Norway, the first thing that comes up is this, and here it costs over 500$
5000 krones lol, when I was in Norway I got shocked Everytime I saw a price... Jeez
ha my internet provider is PTCL and it provides me 6mbps "interrupted" internet. with the world's best 600 ping. almost downloads at 700kpbs better than Seth's
Ptcl is the best of the best!
Mine has 158 on/s download speed u dare oppose me mortal
The speed is significant if you do very large file transfers between multiple devices. The AX requires you to have all devices have 10 Gbps adapters to reap max benefits from it. Otherwise just go for the old Rapture model. The network performance is very good but this device does not increase your Internet speed (that's controlled by your Internet Provider). What it does is allow multiple devices to connect to the Internet or to the network without suffering network performance bottlenecks or degradation (for example, four 4K smart TV running and four PC gaming or surfing at the same time).
That router costs my whole pc..😭😭😭
I wonder how many people with arachnophobia purchased this.
...then noticed the router frickin flipped itself over and started walking towards them
😆
Meanwhile I'm getting 10 up :/
you kidding right? here im with nearly 11-12mbitps download and 1mbitps upload with 35 ping on test with many slow downs and stuttering into streaming content sometimes
Still better then 2 up and 25 down
I have a question.
Who get 300kbps
Like
i got 0.08mbs
It took some time to upload this comment didn’t it
Polo 07 true
i get 80kbs
I get 3 kpbs
What do you pay per month for your wifi from provider
However the router is sending info that you get more speed when it actually is not true
The true connection speed is in the connection to the main grid and where you connect the router, even if this router shows more speed the speed is just a show and sure it will be faster between the router and computer but not between the router and servicegrid, if you have a certain speed just get a router that fits the speed you have and skip the fancy part if you don't really need it, it's just for show and the router will just collect the packages and hold them until the line between the router and grid is free so stilla waiting.
And the signal on the router
@@nightfury8848 that's right the speed between the router and the wall outlet, fiber or what you have for the internet connection is the correct speed, if you have a connection that's rj45 (the fiberconnection) you can for most times connect the computer directly to the outlet and test the speed for the right connection speed without a router in between.
@@Greygonemad ohhh alright and just a thing you said computer and network engineering right? Does it includes coding and stuff like that?
And do you study also how it works physically by wave and stuff and how to manufacture it? And do you choose which path you wanna go to? Or you're obliged to study both?
@@Greygonemad and is coding really requires physics? Like what connects physics with coding?
Mock- multimedia over coaxial association. That is a moca dongle/bridge. It generates usable moca throughout the coal plant in the home. You can also use moca bridges to have an almost latency free etherneted connection with near no loss. Moca runs at a maximum of 375 mbps. Or just slightly more.
If you don’t need it may I have it
@Anime School he didn't give it to me lol
DUDE YOUR WIFI BEFORE IS STUFF OF MY DREAMS
When you only have 9 mbs and that all I can get Bc I live in the woods
Dude all i can get 3 mbs where i live
I get not higher than 1mbs bet you cant beat that
I get .56 mbs
I used to get 300 KB/s. Now I get 9 MB/s over wifi. one does not understand the torture it was just to load a youtube video @ 144p.
Dude, you got to refract the signals off the trees. Everyone know that. True story.
Me searching for wifi speed test:
*_you are currently offline_*
I got 678 mbps is that good?
( don’t worry I’m not a self promoter)
Jaylen Burke no it’s sucks U should probaly switch companies if ur getting that slow
i have 330 mbps and its not that bad🤗
Noone needs to spend $400 on a router. And here I'm down almost 2K (so far!) on my 10G network setup.
I got this same box at home I download ps4 games in 10minutes. When I play pubg my ping is 10 and 5 and shit.
Did u check for channel traffic? Could be that just changing the channels could boost ur internet
Why the hell do I want to watch you unbox some router. I want to know how it performs in gaming dude. Terrible
How's this router holding up after 9months?
I got the worst wifi ever but no way in hell am spending $400 on a router
Thanks for the video. Can you please confirm something for me? What's the actual version of the USB? It is USB 3.1 Gen 1, or USB 3.0? In the official specs, it states USB 3.1 Gen 1, however, the physical port on the router says 3.0, this is also shown in the settings interface in the router. can you please confirm?
Seth: (431 mbps) not bad...
Me who has shity internet service: *cries in 500kbps*
Here at the Philippines we are the slowest wifi...
Why you whining about your internet speeds 😭your internet speeds is 4x better than my internet
hows the range on it? i just wanna stream 4k vids while in my backyard
Wait so my dad bought this for 400 what I didn't know it cost that much
Dual Shock is it good?
@@oboyk super good
Most of the improvements will happen when you have wifi 6 devices to connect to. I just bought essentially the same router but made by TP-Link.
What model?
@@KaMyKaZii TP-Link Archer ax11000 Tri-Band Wi-Fi 6 Router
This is the router that would install GTA in a minute
you would need about 11605mbps download speed
NASA WIFI has like 100GB SPEED
One question my current wifi with the ethernet cord plugged in runs 24 mbps, so will this router improve my speed?
ShadowAssassin88 no, wifi and ethernet are two different things. Wi-fi is a way to connect to the router. The ethernet cable (rj-45) is an other way to connect to the router. The router is what gives you access to the internet. The wi-fi is going to be less stable and less performant than the cable. Your internet speed is limited by your ISP plan that you have to pay every month. Your speed will be limited by where you live, if you live in a building, house or if you live in a village, town or city... It depends on multiple variables.
ShadowAssassin88 I think also this router has a feature that you can select the range of regions that you want to play in multiplayer games
@@NobleApollogaming Ah okay thanks, and yeah I also play a lot of multiplayer games and so I thought I'm gonna need this router in order to get better connection but thanks again for the info
So are you a tech reviewer? I can't tell because you don't seem to know much about tech other than spouting off what is on the box.
Better stability, excellent mesh, and bottle necks come from your devices and will improve dramatically when you add AX items. I have two of these same exact ROG routers and love them!
Everyone: complaining about paying for internet
Me: apartment comes with 100 mbps WiFi
I have FiOS gig triple play too. I bought a TiVo so I don’t have to worry about a moca adapter
Bro RGB lighting is a Gamer right and a Gamer's life.
Why was Steve Buscemi holding the router for your thumbnail???
MoCa adapter actually puts your Ethernet back over the coax on a different frequency. It’s only used when you don’t have an Ethernet wired house. It takes your main coax that your internet comes in on(tv can also come in on it) but it only comes in on one cable, not the one that goes to all the rooms. MoCa brings internet through coax to all the rooms. You install one coax where the internet/tv comes in, then another one in all the rooms where you want internet
wait for this to work do you just have do buy it and plug the power cable in then a ethernet to your pc
What was the laptop you were using for the speed test? (It looks like you are using a Macbook Pro, which only has 802.11ac)
If the laptop only supports 802.11ac, you will be limiting the features (and speeds) capable for you speed demo.
You should test against a device that has WiFi 6 or 802.11ax wireless NIC.
Bro my download speed is 20mbps and the upload is 3mbps....
You are living in heaven
You have to check your 2.4 and 5 channels. Your neighbors are sharing the same channel. Augment that and itll be even faster
Unless your previous router is limiting the internet speed your ISP is providing you, internet speed should not improve. This video should have shown the ISP's internet package then compare it with when you get the new router and see if it adds more speed surpassing what was initially provided to you by your ISP (I doubt it would).
Dude do you understand how fast your network speed is??? That's insane I get like 24mbps wireless and 98mbps plugged in.
I have no idea why I watched this after the 3rd “I have no idea what this is” but I liked it a lot!! Good stuff man
It may be the device you are testing on isn't capable of faster speeds
Its not all about ur modem. Its about ur line, If u have fiber or not and if u pay for 1gb/s or 35mb/s
what app do you use to measure the internet speed?
looks like you have a 400mbps ISP plan..... what about the wireless router performance?
Will this be good for streaming?
This man literally said everything that came to my mind great video!
