Just a heads up. Netgear provide buyers a 3 month of free customer service and 1 year of hardware warranty. However to get an access of that 1 year warranty, you must purchase a service plan with them which can cost $70-$300 (if your 3 month of customer service is expired). If you do purchase the service and then send it to them for repair. They will verify if their is any issue. If there isn't , you wasted $ and if there is an issue, they send you a refurbished one that doesn't have warranty (repurchase another service if this one breaks again). The fact that you need to buy a additional service plan just to get access of the 1 year hardware warranty (base on the day you originally bought it) defeats the purpose of the device life span.
I understand and appreciate your testing methodology like testing out in the driveway away from the access point and with obstructions in the house in the way. A huge feature of Asus is AiMesh. You can easily improve your coverage by adding in a mesh node. Create a mesh network using many Asus routers using AiMesh. Mix and match for what you want. Even use your old ASUS routers. I have 4 routers in an AiMesh for my 2 story house. I easily cover my house, driveway (as I have a Wi-Fi-connected sensor on my mailbox), and most of my 2 acres with Wi-Fi coverage. Adding a node can be a little finicky, but once you do it is all gravy.

One thing with Netgear routers is that they are very stable and reliable. I used them for the past 10 years and practally never needs to reboot them. For the moment its a RAX80. I’m just curious why you chose the Netgear RAX200 as a “gaming” router, when Netgear doesn’t even market it as such? Their actual gaming routers, in the XR series, are specifically designed for gaming using Duma OS, which incorporates gaming specific features like geofencing that restrict you from connecting to online servers with high ping. I would have loved to see the performance of the wifi 6 Netgear XR1000 compared to the ASUS Rapture
@@ChrisMajestic I understand that, and I didn’t mean for my question to sound rude, so I sincerely hope you didn’t take it that way. This is one of the best real world tests I’ve seen anyone do comparing high end routers.I do realize that the Netgear you tested is their flagship wifi 6 model, I was just saying that it’s not touted by Netgear as a gaming specific router like the XR series are, and some of the others you tested as well. It obviously performed very well, but like I said I was just wishing I could have seen how the XR1000 stacks up to the ASUS Rapture as well. I have the XR1000, and it has left a little to be desired IMO, and I’ve been considering the ASUS, so I definitely appreciated getting to see it in action
First of all, I dig your house, congratulations! Next, we are purchasing a 2,200sq ft home in a month, do your results change at all on your wifi mesh video, if you are hardwiring? Im going 6 ip cameras 5 tv locations 3 pcs Patch panel, switch and rack, i just want wireless basically for my wifes laptop, outside, and cell phones. Will any of the mesh devices be ok, or do I need something different altogether??
Hi Chris I’m curious, my family and I have well over 40+ items that connect to the internet, and I was wondering can the ASUS ROG RAPTURE AX11000 handle all of them with no issue and also can the Nighthawk. Thanks
I'm a little bit confused. You're saying that this review includes the Netgear NightHawk RAX200 which houses a Broadcom chipset. But in the router's Firmware User Interface @ 10:41 it shows that you're using a Netgear Nighthawk RAX120 which houses a Qualcomm chipset. They are different routers with different performance metrics. E.g. Rax120 has the option of the 5g port that the RAX200 doesn't. The RAX200 only has 2.5g port. RAX120 is dual band while the RAX200 is triband. Both also have different CPU clock speeds as well. But overall, good work with the video review comparisons.
Chris, how about a video on the best mesh systems. It is well and good to do do testing on individual routers, but mesh is increasingly important in order to distribute access throughout our homes.

@@VREdward lol they do make them things super weird looking. Never understood why but w.e.
The idea was to show flagship routers which happen to be gaming routers from most brands.
Im going 6 ip cameras
5 tv locations
3 pcs
Patch panel, switch and rack, i just want wireless basically for my wifes laptop, outside, and cell phones. Will any of the mesh devices be ok, or do I need something different altogether??
Hi Chris
I’m curious, my family and I have well over 40+ items that connect to the internet, and I was wondering can the ASUS ROG RAPTURE AX11000 handle all of them with no issue and also can the Nighthawk.
Thanks
Hey Chris I just want to say I appreciate your channel and knowledge. Are you going to be covering any WiFi 6E routers?
Hi Chris have you done a new best gaming router video for 2022?
No mentions about the cool per I.P. Speedtest screen? Is that something you built or ? Great info regardless, keep up the amazing work.

Thanks for the video. Question, why use wifi for gaming? I'm direct in with gig
Great video! Your upload speeds are impressive, you must have AT&T fiber?
Tyvm for the vid, it was very helpful.
Great video me boy!!!!!!!! Love it keep at it :)
Thanks for the review! I like your positivity and upbeat demeanor. Appreciate you!
Question if I’m in the basement can i have my router downstairs and my xfinity box up stairs and it will still work ?
I had both the rax200 and rax120 but I used the b-roll from the rax120. Good eye!!!
Chris, how about a video on the best mesh systems. It is well and good to do do testing on individual routers, but mesh is increasingly important in order to distribute access throughout our homes.
I've done several mesh comparisons
Hey man can you do a view of the new Orbi Tri-Band WiFi 6 Mesh System, 6Gbps, Router + 1
Love the video! Didn’t catch what modem you are using?
Thank you for the thorough breakdown. What about wifi6e. Is it worth spending money on any of these with 6E available?
im new to this, how does this work? is it something you just plug in and have internet?
I wish there was a Micro Center in Phoenix, AZ
I have only used linksys, net gear, and have recently switched to asus. Out of them asus has the most usable features and the best interface!
Is that micro center in parkville MD or close to it?
