    you are breaking my heart with this. It is my ultimate favourite piece of music. As a child I would freeze if I heard it playing, i wouldn't move till the song stopped. To me the combined resonance of this song is like the four element of earth connect with our soul. The ending of something and the beginning of something else. Thank you Christy-Lyn for making this one of your lessons. Such a beautiful Wedding.

    The extra effort on your part, Christy-Lyn does not go unnoticed! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've always wanted to play this and have been asked if I do. "You play the harp? Can you play that song they always play when the bride comes down the aisle, I don't know what the name of it, but I'm sure you do!" Now I can say at least, "Funny you should ask! I'm working on it!" :) A BIG Congratulations Megan!

    I'm a big fan of this channel and I purchased lots of tutorial videos, so I decided I would try this one and then I saw it was $40. I always felt 25 was a reasonable amount because of the work that was put into it. But $40? That's a bit greedy

    • @ChoirFly
      @ChoirFly 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You get 6 arrangements + 25 variations + audio files for all those + 43 lesson video segments. You'd easily pay twice that amount in 1:1 lesson fees if you brought the sheet music to an instructor and had them teach you step-by-step how to play it.

    • @martyharris9543
      @martyharris9543 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChoirFly how do you figure you get six arrangements with the video? She's only taught one in every video

    • @kathilisi3019
      @kathilisi3019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      $40 dollars is a reasonable price for a one-on-one lesson lasting 50 minutes. In those 50 minutes you may not even get through a whole piece. The videos in this course are several hours worth of lessons, and at the end you'll be able to play a version of this piece that matches your ability. It's not greedy at all, in fact it's very good value for money.

    • @kathilisi3019
      @kathilisi3019 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@martyharris9543 You get two arrangements each for small harp or big harp (that's four), one version is with a portion of the easier variations, the other with some more difficult variations mixed in. You can choose one of those ready-made arrangements for the type of harp you have and the ability that best fits you, or you could pick and choose from the 25 variations to build your own arrangement. You could even play all 25 variations if you wanted to. This course is the equivalent of three normal courses rolled into one.

    This is the strangest channel. She has 23,000 subscribers ( and deserves every one of them) and no more than 200 sometimes 300 people watch the videos. I just don't get that. I'm not a very social media person. is there some other way that people see these things without viewing them on TH-cam?

    • @LearningtheHarp
      @LearningtheHarp  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jeff! Thanks for watching, and for your support 😃 I appreciate your curiosity about my channel, so I’m giving you quite a long answer, hope that’s ok!
      This video was only released today so that’s why it only had a few hundred views when you saw it. My recent videos have been getting around 2000 to 10 000 views depending on if it’s a teaching tips video or a song, and if the song takes off. That’s not unusual for my number of subscribers - TH-cam doesn’t show your videos to everyone who subscribed. It shows your videos to people who watch similar videos and thus TH-cam knows that they would be interested. If my video performs well with the people who do see it (by them clicking on the video and watching the whole thing), TH-cam then shows it to more people.
      Harp education is a small niche but the people who do watch my videos are very supportive and unusually engaged. Many of these lovely people buy video courses from my website every month! Thankfully my business doesn’t rely on getting income from TH-cam views, because that would be very difficult in such a small niche 😄

    • @gorelowjeff5054
      @gorelowjeff5054 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LearningtheHarp Okay that's good to know. I guess I was just looking at the wrong videos on TH-cam. I'm just glad you make a good income. You've definitely helped me in my harp progress. I've ordered a few of your videos. my favorite so far was somewhere over the rainbow when you forgot the last two notes and I said to myself she'll remember this sometime and then you did in the next segment.
