Damn, that's super useful! Thanks! So, you could make a markpoint using the HUD, FCR or TGP while looking at the HSD to verify that it's roughly at the position of a SAM site and use that mark point to fire the HARM. Which means that you don't have to type the coordinates manually but do it literally on the fly instead
Depends on the mode you fire them with. In RUK, it will go to the last known location. In POS, it'll go to the coordinates of the waypoint you have selected, so it'll be as accurate as your coordinates of the radar and if it moves or not. In the HAD page, it's like RUK in that, if the radar turns off, the Harm will go to the last known location based on the best PGM quality you had when you launched it. etc. lots of moving parts and variables based on the pilot's intel and decision making at the time of launch.
They could. They could also only get two. If you fire them in quick succession, it'd be like firing an aim-120 into a furball. It's going to lock onto the first thing it sees within its scope. If you launch 4 harms slowly, waiting for each to hit a target at a waypoint before launching the next, then you may get all four to hit four separate targets. The other complexity is if the sam site is setup correctly and has layers of defence, like an sa-15 which will be able to shoot down a single HARM flying inbound. Hope that makes sense.
@@BogeyDope Crystal clear! I tested this an hour ago and you are correct. Thanks for sharing, now I can finally fire harms in quick succession! I noticed early on, during "sead practice" It's best to fire 2 harms instantly at the 15 (tor).
You'll have to manually enter the sa5 harm code. for the Sr gammon (sa5)and 130 for the radar if I remember the codes right. I recommend my harms for dummies video (th-cam.com/video/qGIGB1LnAFg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Bi0Dr4cWBhiQy_oM at 5:40) The knee board in the video doesn't show the sa5 yet cause it was 3 years ago, but that download link will take you to the updated version of the code list.
-_- i have a page worth of notes from the other HARM video..... in this one u only went to part 2 of my notes and was firing already... i like this mode better bahahahaha
You could when I posted the video (Launched 4 at 2:37 - ). They've since changed this, unfortunately. However, I've heard rumor that they may be re-enabling the ability to launch HARMS from all four stations again! We'll see.
@@pn641 Hey! Eagle Dynamics just re-enabled all four stations for HARMS on the F-16 in the last update! www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/news/changelog/
There is a good reason to launch 4 at one SAM Radar: when they have good defence systems against HARMs ... and realistically they do

Impressed enough to sub.
Quick and easy, I like it.
Thank you
How likely will harms hit if the Sam site is NOT searching or tracking you while your harms are in the air?

Is there a list of table to show which SA must emit in order to hit?
Works as long as the SA-6 is emitting.
Exactly. HARMS require a radar emission to guide onto in any mode.
Very nice!!! How do you enable the threat rings on the right MFD?
Select HSD. Press one of the buttons on the bottom of the MFD (Preferably one you don't need) and select "HSD"
So, If you fire 4 harms at a waypoint that has multiple targets, let's say a few SA11s, will they all go for the same target?

Im trying to do the same agains an SA 5 but there is no 5 to choose

You can't fire 4 anyway

@@BogeyDope I am not sure but propably they did
It is so annoying to be able to load them and not fire them
It doesn't make any sense
