Dear CAP, I’ve just finished watching a video about a F15E during the 1st gulf war killing a IRAQ hind helicopter with a laser guided GBU. BTW the helicopter had just dropped off troops and had just taken off and was moving when it was hit by said bomb. Their is a short story on TH-cam about the incident, could you try to replicate this incident, I know you did the land rover and bridge video but I think this would be cool 😎 all info is in said video such as aircraft, altitude, speed, target, bomb, target speed, laser pod. Thanks 🙏 love your videos.

Mr Cap sir, bit off topic - but I was mucking about in the misson editor, setting up sam's all over the show, for the F16. There I was in the encyclopedia looking up Sam's capabilities, as I thought in all the years I've simmed this game, 'bout time I tried get my head round sam system's. I clicked on the credits in the misson editor, something I've never done. Right at the bottom, guess what? A credit to Grim Reapers for testing. Totally deserved, though your tuts and testing have not always been mint, they've certainally been entertaining :-)

From what I've read the HTS really shines when there are multiple Vipers carrying it and triangulating together.
Very cool how capable the system is.

Great guide!
A few issues though:
Issue I'm having is I can't click WPN in the same menu as weapon select, I have to click SMS then click WPN, then go to the left MFD and select HAD like you do.
Also you forgot to mention powering up the pylons, (to the right of the stick), though that's not an issue in a mission with pre-selected payload.
Second issue is right MFD WPN wont handoff to left MFD HAD when selecting target (red block with white outline) with radar cursor and 2xTMS FWD, it just refuses to hand off, you also didn't say what button to push to make it handoff 😁
As a result I cant fire missile.
Again, great guide, but it falls juuuust short for reasons stated above.

not sure if I'm doing something wrong or what but... HAD page on left mfd, tgp on right. I use the data from the HAD to slew the TGP and create a markpt at that location. then I slew the TGP to the radar and create another markpt on it. back to the HAD page and fire a HARM at the radar site. then I try to switch back to the TGP and enter the last markpt as the steerpt. from there on, I can NOT slew the TGP and it is not on the markpt of the radar site. this only happens after I have fired off a HARM. any ideas of what to look for?
Always found EW/SEAD ops interesting, gives you a insight into what it must be like for a EA 6B Prowler crew or Growler.

anyone know why some sam radars aren't showing on the hts page but i see them on the RWR? Is there a setting i need to change?
TIP: Put HARMs on station 4 and 6. Then you have 2 and 7 for all the advanced guided weapons. Put on center fuel tank.
Yeah, that's basically a "DEAD" loadout. Use a harm to take out the SR or TR and the other A-G ordinance (usually AT cluster munitions) to mop up the rest of the battery.
For the life of me, I cannot get HAD to come on. I have cheek power, Master Arm on. Harm selected. No matter what I try, it still shows HAD as OFF. Any ides? Read somewhere that MSL Override might be on and screwing with things, but I'm not sure where/how you turn that off... or if that's truly even the problem. Any ideas?

I often see that cardioid shape for microphones, first time with a missile though. x)
It's a pretty generic plane curve though, not strictly relevant to mics. Mics don't usually have a true cardioid pickup pattern. But yeah, I was always thinking the same when I saw the HAD in Falcon BMS.

Dear CAP. i would like you to assist me in something in the F 16C. (F 16CMbl.50). i can not find the HTS pod on the left nor right ''cheek'' on the airplane's fuselage. I have searched this for a long time but still can not find the HTS pod. Lovely video btw. Thanks.

How do you turn on the HAD honestly
Confused, didn't they make HARMs on 4 and 6 non-firable a few updates ago? Could equip them (presumably for transport) on 4 and 6 but fire.
Now settable in mission editor.
I think they buckled to public opinion and made those stations functional. I dont think the real world plane had the necessary wiring on those pylons.
They changed it back and can now do 4.
@@superflyguy4488 Incorrect. As explained they had contradictory information were some F-16 could and some could not resulting in a real world result of "it depends". The did not "buckle" to anything. They implemented as is in real world with lockout being selectable in the mission editor if a designer wants the 2 HARM only model to be simulated.
@@jeffreyc2074 I wonder if same wiring that conects to HARMs at stations 4 and 6 would also work for jdams etc.

did you power it on with switch behind stick?
@@superflyguy4488 not the T-pod, make sure you use the new pod for SEAD/HARM targeting. Make sure you turn it on with the switches to the right of the joystick.
For me it just sais " had off" and I cant figure out this problem

Well, i am sorry but i think i am missing something. POD is equipped, hard points are powered, HARM is on and i stll cant use HAD page. It still says HAD off. And yes, i checked all this twice and then some. -.-
Allright, fixed my stupid. ^^ There is another pylon sensor power switch i wasnt aware of. Maybe that would be a additional piece of information that would´ve been welcome in your video. But other then that, informative and fun to watch as always.
@@Scoobz187 what pylon sensor switch? Turning it on is the pylon switch to the right of the joystick.

It seems to put it in POS mode automatically when firing it. At least at the moment.
as far as I know the viper can only use 2 harm missiles ?
In the mission editor at least, you can load up 4 on a viper.

Probably. A HARM once hit a B-52 that had a tail mounted radar guided gun.
