They are my favorite thing she makes! You can add meat however you wish! Chicken, ham, squirrel-don't hold back, but here are the basics on the best dumplins ever!
    Enjoy! xoxo

She is precious♥️. Masters DONT measure anything. My mom was the same way and it’s how I was taught too. Whenever someone wants a recipe I just tell them they are gonna have to just come watch me.

The ones that don't have to measure are the real cooks. Watching her hands remind me of when my Mother use to make dumplins. Thank you for sharing your Nana with us :)

Oh my gosh 3:04 My grandmother who passed away on the 19th (which is why I'm watching this - she made the best chicken and dumplings) had those same exact little mugs! ❤ I fed her applesauce and ice chips from them in her last days 😢 Your grandma reminds me so much of her! ❤

I loved this. It reminded me of my Momma, she would take home-canned jars of blackberries, heat on the stove and add sweet dumplings. The dumplings were sweet clouds over the blackberries. I wish I had gotten the recipe.

THANK YOU! I lost my me-maw when I was 10, I remember watching her cook but never got any recipes from her. My mom never cooked anything that didn't come in a box or boil in bag...she never was interested in home cooking, so I learned by checking out cookbooks, now we have youtube. I love your channel because it is the way I remember my me-maw use to cook, she was a Mississippi lady with Native American/Cajun/Creole/Appalachian roots. (I know what a mix)xoxoxoxoxoxox

Your Nana is my dream come true……She reminds me of my grandma (Mama) who died before 1970…I wanted to be with her and pick her mind……she was an amazing woman…..I’m using your Nana’s recipe for dumplings because I think it’s closest to what my Mama (Petersburg TN) would have used for hers….I miss her so much….I lost all her recipes when she passed….my mom never got them…..Apparently she didn’t care…..but her biscuit recipe was THE BEST ever! I just found her only existing cookbook that she got before she was married….found it at my parents when they passed……It means the world to me to find the recipes she maybe used! Please pick your Nana’s brain for all the good old stuff….(I feel sure you have) but don’t let it be lost. She’s incredible and I’d love to spend a week with her learning all the good old stuff! Learn all you can from her…..those things will be gone forever someday and you’ll be happy you have her! What a precious soul!!!❤❤❤

I grew up on dumplings. :) Our recipe was a little different, we don't use fats or milk, we just use flour, broth, and a couple eggs. Roll them out and add them to boiling broth. The best thing in the world after being outside in the cold splitting wood.

Oh what beautiful flowers on table! You have a beautiful Nana. You are very blessed to have her to teach you the subtleties of making dumplings. My mother used to make the best chicken and dumplings like that, but I was to young to learn how. By the time I was old enough to learn, she was busy with her career and had discovered the microwave. 🥺
So I am so very glad that you have shared your Nana with us. I just 2 days making lots of chicken bone broth and I am craving my mother’s dumplings, so this video came up at the perfect time. I’m going to give it a try. Kind of like God knew how much I wished I knew how to make those wonderful dumplings. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

I just found this video and followed along with your Nana. I made my first pot of homemade dumplings, and they turned out delicious! You are so lucky to have a Nana that knows how to cook family recipes. My grandmas on both sides were career women. They had no domestic qualities and didn’t even breastfeed their babies! I was the first one on both sides of my own family and the first one my husband’s side in three generations to breastfeed my babies. I wish I had gotten to know my great-grandmother as she was a phenomenal cook and homemaker. My dad says that seeing me in the kitchen is like his grandmother has come back to life. I had to teach myself everything, including how to breastfeed, and am proud of being the Nana in the future like your Nana. Generational knowledge can end with one person, but it can also start with one person!

I'm from England and haven't seen dumplings like this before, we use similar doughs but tend to pop them on top of a casserole/ stew for the last part of cooking. Your nannas look awesome 👏 x
