  • The forgotten Bishops castle Branch Line in Shropshire 2021
    Today's Video with yours truly "Thomas Edward" We look at history of little branch line in Shropshire countryside what's been shut longer than it's actually been open for 1865 to 1935.
    We look at each station in detail and as well as soak up the lost atmosphere there still so much to see and lot of original features have been saved throughout the years.

    Excellent video. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m Ken Lucas’s grandson and he would very much approve. ( he sadly passed away in 2011 ) but was totally obsessed with the bishops castle railway. And was one of the founding members of the bishops castle railway society in the late 80s. He also got to ride on the line many times before it was closed down. And his grandfather worked on the construction of it! Best regards!

      Yeah the line for been shut longer than it was opener for it's amazing how Shropshire landscape has kept intact and there's no big fancy money houses ruining the old stations what's a plus.
      I'm sure you'll be doing Thomas Edward Binge over Christmas will you Because got so much old content for new viewers to catch up on.

    The Bishops Castle Railway Societys website is very interesting. The Weighbridge building used to be so overgrown. They have done tremendous work to restore it as you see now.

    Got a track day at the end of the month so expect a vid or 2 lol.

    Top stuff as always. You wont be surprised to hear the publisher of the lost railways book also does ones on airfields and I've found them helpful in looking for disused bases. I see you did get some aviation in when you were outside the church! The inside of that church looks very much like ours.

    • @ThomasEdward
      @ThomasEdward  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I need have get that book with lost airfields I'd love to present one to you guys on here and learn because like there stacks of aeroplane wrecks up here we could achieve on film.

    • @ukar69
      @ukar69 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bung it on the future videos list. It’s cool to look for disused airfields on maps. Even if there’s no runways you can make out the perimeter track or loops and hard standings. Like old railway buildings you see them repurposed for other things.
