Nice film Richard,Carding Mill is one of my favourite places and Shropshire is so under-rated.
Glad the camera wasn't badly damaged.

Thank you for the video Richard. I was in this very valley a couple of weeks ago in somewhat warmer weather than you had!
It is indeed a beautiful place and you can even swim in the reservoir in the summer (although probably unofficially!)

You seem to have an amazing amount of land without any buildings on them. Fantastic walking paths all over the place.

@@RichardVobes found out the Botevilles were sherriffs of Shropshire. Th king of France's granddaughter was married to the king of England (John ) & she awarded all the land around the 3 Stretton's and the surrounding hills (the very ones you & Harriet walked in your vids) to them. I have been trying to find the name of any of their estates, but no luck yet. Just that they were also given govenorship over Belvoir Castle & it was during their time there that they rebuilt the nearby Saxon church. This original 13th century stone area of the church still stands today. Any chance you have been to either of these places?

cardingmill valley should be avoided if possible. Its busy, people park badly, and no one gets more than 100m from their car or the cafe. the next valley either way are both better and have small, usually deserted car parks. btw, please put your dog on a lead, there are signs everywhere asking you to do so to protect livestock and ground birds.
