My wife wanted my family to be an Apple product family. As a PC user, I wanted us to go all Google. We compromised by doing exactly what my wife wanted.
Any possibility on a "The Best Apple Productivity Duo" video??? showing what two Mac/iPad devices are the best duo like a MacBook Pro and an iPad or an iMac and a MacBook Pro etc. etc. outlining productivity power and portability ?????
Best according to me: iPhone 12 M1 Macbook air/m1 ipad pro Airpods pro Apple watch se If you can get all these, boom u just got a seamless and good value tech ecosystem.
I recently changed my old macbook Air for a new M1 and as I always do I bought up all the best specs because I like it to last longer as a good computer EXCEPT the storage capacity. So, I got the 8 core version, 16 ram but only 1TB (not the 2TB version) because my old Air (8 years old) was already 512gb and for eight years I only got close once or twice to fill in my lap. So I doubled that and I think I'm good to go. I'm not a content creator but I also think that 1tb is the minimum to anyone. By the way, the new M1 is AMAZING! I'm so super happy for the exchange I cant help but telling everyone to get one too. :)
Great video, thanks. I have the iPhone SE 2020, Apple Watch 6, iPad Air 4 blue, and for 2 days the MacBook Air M1. I encountered some troubles with my Logitech mix anywhere 2s with the mba but i’m so happy of my first year in the Apple ecosystem 😉
🚨A professional should have EVERYTHING on an external drive/ssd/nas. Especially larger projects must go on one because of data loss, filesharing and more. I don't know how you can recommend 1TB for this price. For a professionals the storage must only be enough for cache, and programs.
I only have the IPhone 8, and AirPods 2 right now. Planning to get the iPhone 11, Apple Watch SE and MacBook Air next year but having a hard time deciding between 256gb and 512gb on the MacBook. What would you recommend?
So weird that this video appeared on my Recommended just now as literally two weeks ago I actually bought a Macbook Air M1, iPhone 13 Pro, regular Airpods and an Apple Watch SE, lol, I couldn't be happier with my purchases, as a hard working software developer and music producer it is pretty much the perfect setup
As a working professional, the opinion from this video that I did not quite agree with was your recommendation about the 1TB for the MacBook Air. Now for myself, I am not an online content creator, however, I use a Macbook Air M1 as my primary work device and I have the base model with the base storage and the device has been more than fine. In fact, the device is awesome, and yes I do agree, the MBA M1 is the best bang for your buck laptop. Before the MBA M1, my work device was a Surface Pro 7. I thought the SP7 was it when it came to productivity and portability, and I even thought the battery life was awesome, but then the M1 came out. When it was mentioned that since the MBA and MBP would now be using Apple Silicon, I was in complete awe. When the videos of the two devices started hitting and the comments of how efficient the new M1 processors functioned during everyday workloads, I told myself I needed to drop the SP7. MacOS was made for the M1 and more specifically the MBA. The MBA M1 is the best laptop I have ever owned, and the fact that I get to use one for work is even better. However, I do not use the MBA M1 in the traditional sense of an everyday work computer. I have found that I am able to do 100% of my work through Web apps thanks to the Edge browser. The Edge browser is not as labor-intensive as Chrome and to me, it runs a lot smoother and cleaner than Chrome on MacOS. What I also love about web apps, is that you can still locate them using, Alfred and open them very quickly baring you have a web connection, which thanks to Mobile hot-spotting I do. Also by using the Edge browser as my primary everyday app, 256GB of storage has been more than enough to fulfill my needs. Before using a web browser for work, I did not really use Cloud storage, nor did I really know how to use it. Cloud storage has really been more of a recent change, namely to Covid. Because of Covid, my work has gone completely virtual thanks to Teams. Teams are what have allowed my work to be completed through a web browser, it is now where all my meetings take place. The remaining suggestions, the iPhone Pro Max and AirPods. Both are great devices, but also feel that both are not a must but more as a want than a need. I have the iPhone 12 as my personal phone, and I do have the Airpod Pros. I use the original Airpods as my work headphones and an iPad Air 2020 as my personal computer. Other accessories I would have included in this video would be a great external monitor and keyboard. Great video as always Gary.
My eco-system is the iPhone 12 Mini, Apple Watch SE, iPad 5th Gen, AirPods 2nd Gen, Beats Studio 3 (with apple chip), HomePod Mini & arriving later this week M1 Mac Mini.
I think I have a pretty good balance. I have iPhone 12, MacBook Air 512gb (Base) and AirPods 2. Honestly speaking I would've got Mini too since I have a very low screen time. Base model MacBook Air is fantastic for photo editing and development work. No AirPods Pro because I hate silicon tips.
Funny, I saw this video on my home page, enter it, then I found I had all the ecosystems except I have MacBook pro 13, and I believe it's soooo eco for me, thank you for this video.
I always get the full specs because I like my laptop to last as a good computer for longer. Just changed my 2013 full specs (8gb ram, i7, 512gb) for an almost full specs (8 core version, 16 ram, 1TB model). Didn't get the 2TB because in 8 years I couldn't fill in my 512gb so... But is best to get full specs. When I got my 2013 they had a 4 ram and an 8 ram and one hundred something GB storage. Everyone got the base model and they said it was unnecessary to upgrade. A couple years later there was not much they could do with an i3, 164gb storage and 2/4ram but mine i7 with 512gb and 8ram still going strong and I just changed because I wanted the new M1 chip. But one thing I super agree: It's an AMAZING new laptop. :)
Fantastic video Gary!! Really enjoyed it! 👌☺️ P.S. out of curiosity, do you still use the 12 mini? Or have you converted completely to the 12 Pro Max? 🤣
Can't wait to get my hands on the latest iPhone that'll come out this year! I currently have a fighting ip6s so yes I agree that the "low end" items can enjoy the benefits of the premium priced ones. Thanks for your videos, I really enjoy watching them. 🥳

Great content!!! I do blended education so the (1)Mac Air spec'd out with 8 core 16gb Ram and 2 TB storage (Future proofing) and of course I run parallels. (2) The iPhone 12 with 128gb storage is sufficient. (3) I'm not a fan of putting things in my ear, so I would go Aeroshock. (4) In my work environment there are enough clocks that a watch is pretty useless. (5) Air tags, I honestly can't find a use for them, in a professional work environment.

@@_brunoaq for real! i bought an m1 mac air in installments because i’m really impressed by the processor and want to use it for a few years but damn is it expensive
I am a total sucker for Apple’s ecosystem… and I am not upset about it. Apple is just so damn good! My wife and I each have the iPhone 12 Pro, iPad Air 4 w/magic keyboard, AirPods Pro, and Apple Watch series 6, and AirTags for our keys. I think about getting a MacBook Air, but with the magic keyboard, I really do not have much need for a laptop other than to print, which I rarely do so I can just do that on my work PC laptop.
Currently have a M1 MacBook Pro, iPhone 12 Pro, 11 inch iPad Pro 2020 with Magic keyboard, AirPods Pro, and I’m still using the Apple Watch 3 because I barely use it unless I have a meeting or something along those lines.
I just picked up a 2017 MacBook 12 inch for $500 as my first Mac deal of a lifetime when most sell them still for $700+ I dropped it on the cement a huge dent on the corner still runs like a beast and $1300 when it was new but I could still sell it for $500. Along with a iPhone 7 Plus, airpods 2, iPad Pro 12.9 and Apple Watch 2 perfect for my needs!!!
im just getting into the Apple Eco System from 8 years of Samsung i currently own MacBook Air M1 Ipad Air 4 Apple watch SE Apple Pencil 2 AirPods Pro Im getting the Iphone 12S this year. Im between the pro or the pro max
Hey, mostly a silent viewer here but im really sad that there was no ipad mention cause for students it probably would be the best option because for the price of the new ipad pro m1, apple pen and a logitech keyboard its more or less the same price as the air m1 but can do office and stuff on the same lvl for me as an ex art student it just was even more worth so im really sad there wasnt even a mention :/
This! Except for someone who‘s studying something where you have to program a lot, the iPad (pro) with the pen (and maybe the keyboard) is so damn good. If u have to the money, the macbook m1 air would be a great addition, you can literally use the iPad as a second monitor (like, literally). The iPad with the pen and something like notability or goodnotes5 is so great to use. Can only suggest it, for the first time in my life, taking notes is fun! ^^
Was an Apple hater but my nephew convinced me to get a MacBook 12 years ago. I was a firm blackberry and PC user. Now I have a iPhone XR, Apple Watch 4, MacBook Pro 2018, iPad Air 4, 10 year old Mac mini and some AirPods. Trapped in the walled garden.
Depends on your needs and/or wants. There is VERY LITTLE difference between them, but the price difference is a bigger deal. Honestly, unless you are die hard for the red or blue watch, you are probably better off getting the SE to save some cash or use it on accessories…
I have all these devices with the exception of the Macbook Air (M1)... I have an iPad 12.9 inch in pre-order... would it be better to just go with the MacAir or keep with the pre-order for that glorious iPad?
iPad Air 4th Gen? I figured that would be included in this video. Anyway, I have the iPhone 11PM, Apple Watch Series 5 44mm, Intel MacBook Air, iPad Air 4th Gen, 2 Apple TV 4K, and a HomePod Mini. AirTags are already preordered. One More Thing: Want a surround(ish) sound system? All you need is a Apple TV 4K, and 2 HomePods (or HomePod Minis). Connect the HPs to the TV 4K and space them from the corners of the TV.
I really love the Apple ecosystem. I have multiple Macs, iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple Watch series 6, AirPods Pro, Apple TV and members of my family also have multiple Apple devices so it is so nice. Apple’s ecosystem is very easy to use and works very great together. It is easy to share media and files to other users and all those devices really compliment each other and just make them better overall.
I can only add one gadget more. I have an iphone and i’m choosing between ipad and macbook air. I’d use it for watching videos and editing content for social media - compilation edits, artworks etc. - ipad is more convenient in terms of editing due to being touchscreen and having the apple pencil - having mac os gives me more diversity, power, and more long term money value however i think editing art with a mouse is harder So i’m still having a hardtime to decide lol. I need you guys’ 2 cents
From my personal experience, 256 GB on a MacBook Air were more than enough during 5 years of Law school here in Brazil. I also had 1TB on OneDrive because of my family's shared plan on the Office suite, but I never used more than 40 GB to store a lot of PDF files (mostly from book scans). If you have reliable internet access, I don't think you should be worried about physical storage-a nice cloud storage plan will be just fine
For me it should be: iPhone 12, MacBook Air wid 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD, AirPods Gen2, Apple Watch 4, AirTags pack of 4, MacBook Mini (if u need anything as desk at home), iPad Pro 2018 (extras)
Returned the Macbook Air M1 because of random keyboard glitches (entering characters without my touching the keys) and ordered a like-new iPad Pro 2020 11" instead. Loved the MBA but can't live with buggy 1st-gen tech. Feel far better about the iPad as a match to the iPhone 12 Pro Max for video-audio-photo content creation. I do interviews and small-scale doc video/photo/audio. For these, the phone and the pad are tremendous. The 12 Pro Max is insane - not a moment's regret after swapping Canon FF for it.
I decided for the "Air" ecosystem (meaning non SE, non Pro) and I am really happy with it, best balance of value and quality IMO. Everything base spec iPhone 12, AirPods 2, Apple Watch 6, iPad Air 4, MacBook Air M1, AirTags (when then arrive)
I used to be a major Apple hater until I got the iPhone 4, now I'm all in. iPhone 12, Apple Watch 6 Cellular, Airpods Pro, 4 Airtags(Dog collar, transit backpack, work security badge, Photography bag) iPad Air 3 cellular, Apple Pencil, 2 Homepod(originals), Apple TV 4K(2017), and too many Homekit devices to list.
Don’t have a 12 but 11 ☑️ MacBook Pro ☑️ and I’m working on my Apple Watch again has a S3 I broke playing basketball i feel Apple is sooo durable and reliable
Most useful setup for Seriously Disabled, especially those of us who use Zoom a lot, but still need to spend time in hospital and go to various meetings when possible. I use an iPhone 12 Mini, easier and lighter to hold, connectivity to internet and all other tech below, versatile helpful functions, including Find My. BELKIN x 3 Dock for Home or Hospital (Maybe cheaper Powerbank for car or meetings, useful for piece of mind, but not necessary unless out all day. I carry one just in case) Original (or new) compatible AirPods Pro, more versatile, comfortable and rich sound for music. iPad Pro, and wall charger for home or hospital (could us iPad Air if necessary but fewer functions) easier to see than heavy large iPhone and lighter than Laptop, for entertainment/research/I use compatible keyboard for writing emails/notes/hosp letters etc. Apple Watch 4 and above, quick for answering calls when out and about in Wheelchair, helpful functions including keeping me fitter, easy for Carers/PAs to set up. AirTags cheapest option for our multiple bags (Medical, Tech & support, Handbag) Keys, BELKIN AirTag key ring, Purse, iPhone, iPad use cheaper Air Tag sticky back holders. Especially good for when new or temp or sometimes even experienced Carers PAs lose/forget things! Obviously if you can get refurbished items from Apple great but ‘buyer beware’ when buying from non-approved shops or second hand. I was lucky to get iPhone 12 Mini from family for my 60th, the rest I’ve saved up for over the years. (Still saving for first set of Air Tags & holders.) Hope that helps.
I play a lot of games and love my pc. But for day to do stuff I use a MacBook Air. The battery life and performance for a laptop that size is unmatched
My recommendation for iPhones would be the 11 series because it has even better battery life than the 12 series and the performance difference is almost non existant. The 11 pro max is such a great pick up but if you want a phone that would actually fit in your pocket. The 11 pro is really good as well and the battery life is just as good. If you want a really good phone for your daughter or son as a gift that would last for years. The 11 is really good for the money. In regards to 5G. It’s not that wide spread yet so it’s hardly a downside
I own a AirPods Pro and a iPhone XR was looking to upgrade to a new iPhone and get a new MacBook and a new iPad been watching many of your video so your video made it super useful as I was heading to my freshmen hear in university
I'd be curious to know how many people work on different devices and keep switching between them. Beside artists switching between an ipad and computer, I dont think most people write, make music, make/edit videos on their cell phone, then switch to a computer, or mac mini to whatever other device, even regular business work from a tablet to a computer (from the videos im seeing the ipad os is far from a great os for a lot of what you wanna do. it can theorically do it, but its not done well and you have to work at it to do what you want). It seems to me that most people do their deep work on a particular preferred device most of the time, because its on what they work best. Sure i'd like to be able to "pick up where i left off" on any device, but i dont think in reality you're making use of it a lot. At least not for work. And if we're merely talking about writing emails, writing texts, you can already do that on cloud platform like gmail (drafts) and google doc. I actually am really attracted to getting mac stuff, but it seems to be for all the wrong surface level (marketing hitting all the right buttons, estethics etc) reasons. So i keep putting it off and am happy not to spend a lot of money on that expensive ecosystem.
3:52 56,360 emails you haven't looked at. keep up the good work. Is it possible to get a refurbished MacBook with education pricing? External SSD's are an option if you care about storage and pricing. So a good value MacBook could be the MacBook Air with 16 GB of ram and 256 GB of storage with an external SSD.
I think this is relative to your needs, I’m a freelance artist on the side and I find all I really need is an iPhone (11 Pro) and an iPad (Air 4) with an Apple Pencil
I wouldn't get less than 1TB on a laptop either! I'm actually switching back to Apple products starting with the new iPad Pro 12,9" and M1 MacBook Air (1TB ROM + 16GB RAM). I'll wait for a new iPhone and Apple Watch and on the meantime I'll try to sell my Intel iMac 27" to get ready for the release of the new version.
For me the perfect ecosystem is iPhone 11/12 Pro, iPad Air 4, Watch, TV, AirPods Pro, HomePod Mini, and AirTags. I do too much VR stuff to justify having a Mac as a daily driver
I was an Apple hater back in 2012. My former boss convinced me to get an iPhone 5 and I have been trapped in the walled garden ever since. 9 years later I now own an iPhone 12 Pro, Apple Watch Series 6, 2018 iPad Pro, Apple TV and M1 MacBook Pro. The ecosystem is by far the best you can find and I am so glad my boss finally made me see the light.

Garyyyy Apple Watch SE vs Apple Watch 6?
What do I choose
Depends on your needs and/or wants. There is VERY LITTLE difference between them, but the price difference is a bigger deal. Honestly, unless you are die hard for the red or blue watch, you are probably better off getting the SE to save some cash or use it on accessories…
@@rondaward7602 thanks for the answer
Will probably get the se only
Have a lovely dau
I have all these devices with the exception of the Macbook Air (M1)... I have an iPad 12.9 inch in pre-order... would it be better to just go with the MacAir or keep with the pre-order for that glorious iPad?
12.9 alllllll the way! Hope u enjoy it :)
The pro collection is always the best
iPad Air 4th Gen? I figured that would be included in this video. Anyway, I have the iPhone 11PM, Apple Watch Series 5 44mm, Intel MacBook Air, iPad Air 4th Gen, 2 Apple TV 4K, and a HomePod Mini. AirTags are already preordered.
One More Thing: Want a surround(ish) sound system? All you need is a Apple TV 4K, and 2 HomePods (or HomePod Minis). Connect the HPs to the TV 4K and space them from the corners of the TV.
Should I wait to buy the M2 MacBook Air in 2022 or buy the 2011 MacBook Air from Walmart for $200?
I really love the Apple ecosystem. I have multiple Macs, iPhone 12 Pro Max, Apple Watch series 6, AirPods Pro, Apple TV and members of my family also have multiple Apple devices so it is so nice. Apple’s ecosystem is very easy to use and works very great together. It is easy to share media and files to other users and all those devices really compliment each other and just make them better overall.
Can I get one Mac 💻 please… I would really love to have one
U can get an iPad Pro 12.9 inch M1 + magic keyboard + Apple Pencil + AirPods 2 in USA for the price of iPhone 12 pro max 256 GB 🙂
The ONLY usable smartwatch? Now you're just sounding unhinged, Gary!
I can only add one gadget more. I have an iphone and i’m choosing between ipad and macbook air.
I’d use it for watching videos and editing content for social media - compilation edits, artworks etc.
- ipad is more convenient in terms of editing due to being touchscreen and having the apple pencil
- having mac os gives me more diversity, power, and more long term money value however i think editing art with a mouse is harder
So i’m still having a hardtime to decide lol. I need you guys’ 2 cents
Considering your needs, ig the iPad would be the better option.
I think you would have brought your device by now, though.
How much storage should I get as a student?
From my personal experience, 256 GB on a MacBook Air were more than enough during 5 years of Law school here in Brazil. I also had 1TB on OneDrive because of my family's shared plan on the Office suite, but I never used more than 40 GB to store a lot of PDF files (mostly from book scans). If you have reliable internet access, I don't think you should be worried about physical storage-a nice cloud storage plan will be just fine
Thank you so much
where can you purchase a refurbished Apple products, Macbook)?
For me it should be: iPhone 12, MacBook Air wid 16GB RAM & 512GB SSD, AirPods Gen2, Apple Watch 4, AirTags pack of 4, MacBook Mini (if u need anything as desk at home), iPad Pro 2018 (extras)
Can you *actually* edit 4K video footage from the Sony A7RII/A7SII w/ the 8G RAM? Or do you NEED at least 16G? Love your videos!
Yes, I’ve got a video showing it.
Yes,the apple ecosystem is POG
Wow that sounds like a great setup! 👍
1. iPhone 12 Pro Max
2. M1 Macbook Air
3. Airpods Pro
4. Apple Watch SE
5. Airtags
Dude can you pls make an updated video now that new macbooks are out and so are iphone 13s?
Do You Have Acoustic Treatment?????
Only thing that sketches me out about the M1 Air is no cooling. I'd rather not need it and have it than need it and not have it.
Don’t have a 12 but
11 ☑️ MacBook Pro ☑️ and I’m working on my Apple Watch again has a S3 I broke playing basketball i feel Apple is sooo durable and reliable
I’m not in the market for a pc atm but the Mac mini. Is very tempting
I carry one just in case)
Original (or new) compatible AirPods Pro, more versatile, comfortable and rich sound for music.
iPad Pro, and wall charger for home or hospital (could us iPad Air if necessary but fewer functions) easier to see than heavy large iPhone and lighter than Laptop, for entertainment/research/I use compatible keyboard for writing emails/notes/hosp letters etc.
(Still saving for first set of Air Tags & holders.)
Hope that helps.
How long people takes to get into the ecosystem?
I own a AirPods Pro and a iPhone XR was looking to upgrade to a new iPhone and get a new MacBook and a new iPad been watching many of your video so your video made it super useful as I was heading to my freshmen hear in university
My ecosystem is as follows:
1. iPhone 12
2. Apple Watch SE
3. iPad Pro 2020
4. AirPods Pro
5. 2011 iMac
Get the Macbook Air 16GB RAM, 1TB refurbished. It is a killer deal in my opinion. 😊 Best Laptop available right now.
Easily the best value computer ever. 👍
Its better to have too much storage and not need it then to have too little storage and need it. I agree, I wouldn't go below a 1TB drive
iPhone 11, M1 MacBook Air, AirPods Pro, Apple Watch SE, iPad Air four, and, a four pack of air tags.
Dude, how many times you gonna do this ecosystem thing?
I'd be curious to know how many people work on different
devices and keep switching between them.
Beside artists switching between an ipad and computer,
I dont think most people write, make music, make/edit videos
on their cell phone, then switch to a computer, or mac mini to whatever other device,
even regular business work from a tablet to a computer (from the videos
im seeing the ipad os is far from a great os for a lot of what you wanna do.
it can theorically do it, but its not done well and you have to work at it to do what you want).
It seems to me that most people do their deep work on a particular preferred device
most of the time, because its on what they work best.
Sure i'd like to be able to "pick up where i left off" on any device,
but i dont think in reality you're making use of it a lot.
At least not for work.
And if we're merely talking about writing emails, writing texts,
you can already do that on cloud platform like gmail (drafts)
and google doc.
I actually am really attracted to getting mac stuff, but it seems
to be for all the wrong surface level (marketing hitting all the right buttons, estethics etc)
reasons. So i keep putting it off and am happy not to spend a lot of money
on that expensive ecosystem.
It’s absolutely relative to your needs, there is no set in stone standard for what works for everyone.
any chance we can get those iPhone wallpapers?
I wouldn't get less than 1TB on a laptop either! I'm actually switching back to Apple products starting with the new iPad Pro 12,9" and M1 MacBook Air (1TB ROM + 16GB RAM). I'll wait for a new iPhone and Apple Watch and on the meantime I'll try to sell my Intel iMac 27" to get ready for the release of the new version.
I only clicked because of the Hermes AirTag in the thumbnail
I knew it would get me at least 1 view.
Your Playstation t-shirt is fantastic!
I would have switched the 12 pro max for the SE and iPad 8
12 mini instead of se just so you can get 5G
Nice tease at 1:03.....you know I have been asking about your "Everyday Dad" ball cap!
First comment from Egypt. if I can figure it out, you can figure it out
Love from india to Egypt ❤️
Great video! Do you play WoW on Mac? :)
Gone back to my mechanical watch Apple Watch not my thing but love the ecosystem
For me the perfect ecosystem is iPhone 11/12 Pro, iPad Air 4, Watch, TV, AirPods Pro, HomePod Mini, and AirTags. I do too much VR stuff to justify having a Mac as a daily driver
Looks like I need to go and ask $5000 to offord all these and when I convert it in to my local currency its a dream 😔
Oh, and a couple AirTags lol.
I have the same Atari shirt as you and now we see you wearing a playstation one too ! Totally epic !😂
