What are your thoughts on this best value budget Apple Ecosystem? 🤔
Great video!
I currently own:
- iPhone 15 Pro Max
- Apple Watch Ultra
- iPad Air 5th Gen
- MacBook Pro 2011
I have a question for you. I'm looking to purchase a new MacBook and I'm leaning towards the Air 2022 with M2 or the M1 from 2020. Which one do you recommend?
@@Solver-2024 M2 macbook air is very good, but buy 16 gb ram version
@@szczuro7684 Thanks, buddy. How much are they? Which color?
@@Solver-2024 In terms of price you should look at online stores in your country, but definetly don't buy on offical apple site, products there are very overpriced. As for the color, you have to choose it yourself, I can only tell you that midnight is beautiful, but it is fingerprint magnet
@@szczuro7684 Thanks again; I will look into that, as Apple is a rip-off merchant!
The blue does look amazing, but like you said fingertip magnet. I was looking at the Space Grey looks awesome too!
My iPad Air 5th is Starlight colour and my iPhone is Silver white.
This will be a significant upgrade for me. I am currently using a slow MacBook Pro Retina 2011 model and I need a decent MacBook Air. It
Not sure if I would go with the 11 series in 2024. Main concern would be lack of 5G. I understand 5G is not as widespread, but stll for future proofing, better to go with 12 Pro/Pro Max
id actually go for 13/13 pro, massive turning point for apple and refurbed only £300-400 depending on condition, 11 was known for bad battery life, 12 was kinda brushed over for not really doing much but changing the design, 13 was where it actually changed
@@TheAP2006 I can vouch for the bad battery of the 11. Went through that phase with terrible battery life. Upgraded to 14+ in May
I would say at least 13 pro
@@Anwrimos23 not sure if 13 Pro will make it a low budget Apple Ecosystem 😂
@@darsh_alawani buy refurbished or 14
Problem with this setup is that the MacBook storage is way too low at 128 GB. Probably would be best to get rid of the iPad and get a 2020 Air with 16 GB RAM and at least 256 GB storage or get rid of the Mac and use that money to get an iPhone with a more up-to-date processor (A15 ideally).
I would skip the iPad and get some AirPods instead. This ecosystem would turns out perfect!
Exactly if I have a Mac no need for a iPad
@@XavierdredeuceI have both but use my ipad mainly. I switch on and off depending on what I’m doing so it comes down to preference.
@@sanjefffright😅 I use my iPad Pro more than my M1 Pro MacBook
iPad more. Hand down
@@musicviolamusician4392 crazy bro u got an M1 Pro MacBook
Excellent money saving advice without sacrificing quality and performance! Thank you sooo much!
You forgot AirPods. If you want good, budget AirPods, consider the original AirPods Pro (not the Pro 2, those are expensive, not budget).
3:23 The Series 4 got WatchOS 10, but won't get WatchOS 11.
If you have a bit more money to spend, consider these:
- iPhone 13 Pro
- Apple Watch Series 7
- M1 iPad Air
- M3 13" MacBook Air
- AirPods Pro 1st Gen (or 2nd Gen USB-C if you can afford them)
for me:
1. Iphone 13
2. airpods 3rd gen
3. ipad air m1 with apple pencil
4. macbook air m1
are enough for me. it is not cheap especially in the country i am living in, but this is enough for me. I do not think I will update any apple products soon and i am satisfied with my choices. But my wallet is not lol.
Wise choice ngl
I’d def go ahead with a base 13 over any 11 model, as they already have a limited version of iOS 17 so they might not get 18, and even if they do they definitely won’t get any after that.
Ive heard, that even older ios versions are good. What would make ios 17 less good than 18?
They’re getting 18 & prolly 19
Even iPhone XR and XS are getting iOS 18, let alone the 11 Pro, I’d say there’s a decent chance it even gets iOS 19 at this rate
Love all the recommendations 🙌. Amazing video, as always
Very useful and informative video. Thanks.
I have the iPhone 11 my daughter has the 11 pro. The camera on the pro is definitely so much better.
What are the specs for the m1 MacBook that you tried and reviewed in the video? Ram etc?
Wow this is a very good guide. I’ll save up to get these . I managed to get the iPhone 11pro . Up next might be the Mac . Kinda pricey for me but looks great
My Ecosystem
iPhone 14 Pro Max
iPad M2 Air
Apple Watch series 7
Macbook Air 2019
MacBook still runs and has less then 700 cycles. Still going strong!
nice ecosystem mate
how is ipad m2? is it good, cause i wanna buy it next month
Skip on the ipad and get the iphone 13 pro instead
13 is good too
Why Though? Not doubting you, but whats the benefit?
@@davykyrian1987iPhone 13 Pro has promotion 120 hz refresh rate, so screen is super smooth, A15 is more future proof than A13, 5G support, MagSafe support
I mean then you don’t have an iPad
Id say its better to skip on the watch if you dont really need the premium price that comes with the watch
been using a MacBook Pro 2017. it is pretty good imo u can pick em up for like 200-300 quid. its got like 5 hours of battery life. the keyboard has actually been good and it is pretty quick love the screen and the weight and portability is pretty good
I have AirPods Pro, iPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 7 and an iPad 9th. The ipad is great for watching content and doing an class work on it while on the sofa and on the bed the iPhone 14 pro’s display is amazing and while outside using the watch instead of the phone for texts and calls is convenient.
On my opinion & needed, I think have the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods & HomePod are good enough for this Apple ecosystem.
homepod isn’t needed
Airpods and homepods are accessories. To me, iPhone and iPad are the best minimum you should get. You can use iPad to give your iPhone rest from overuse. You can also use iPad to type documents and office works.

This is an excellent and inexpensive setup for someone wanting to move over from Samsung. Thanks as always for your ideas!
Excellent video as always, Dion! For me, I'll go this way:
- iPhone 11 Pro (will get iOS 18 and probably 19).
- MacBook Air M1, at least with 256GB storage and 8GB RAM, since macOS is very optimized (will get the new version, Sequoia).
- Apple Watch SE (with the S8 chip, 2 or 3 years of software support), the Apple Watch Series 5 will no longer receive updates.
- AirPods Pro 2, or if you want to save more, 1st gen, but honestly, the 2nd version is much better (functions, audio quality, battery life).
- Regarding the iPad, with the new OS version, it is very interesting, especially if you need to use it for math notes. Otherwise, I would take it off the list.
My current setup: iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPad Air 3-gen, Macbook Air M1, addtional iPhone XR as a backup phone.
I was thinking about Apple Watch 5 but I'm not sure do I really need it. Only for answering calls when my phone is bag is not a big deal.
is the XR and the Air 3 good and the 12 pro max?
12 Pro Max and Air 3 are pretty fine devices nowadays 👍
Nice video as always ✅
For iPads I think it’s better to get A14 iPad air because of the laminated display
And better pencil support
I got the Apple Watch 6 and it’s pretty good battery last longer then you think depending on how much you use it
Apple Watch Series 5 was just dropped for iOS 18
Is moft available in India?? If Yes then please help me with link. My fav ecosystem would be a 13 mini , a series 9 , i pad air (new one) and mac m1 mac Book pro
I have a similar ecosystem except I don't have an Apple Watch but I got the iPhone 13 mini, iPad Air, M1 MacBook Pro and also AirPods Pro 2. gen
I currently have a watch SE 2020 m1 macbook 2020 and the 13 pro. Due a 16/15 pro soon and a m2 macbook. Thats all you need really
I always thought “budget” and “Apple” are like water & oil… They don’t go together.
😂 right
In my opinion, you should’ve got a iPhone 13 mini, an iPad 9th generation(or an iPad Air 4th generation), an Apple Watch SE 2nd generation and a MacBook Air M1
Great content as always Dion, could you pls do an Android - Samsung on a budget ecosystem video thank you in advance.
My Budget ecosystem :
- iPhone 11
- Apple Watch 5
- Macbook Air M1/256GB
👀
I really think that it's better and in a good budget the iphone 11 pro max (better battery), 12 or even iphone 12 pro refurbished. Although such a good offer on iphone 11 pro is really really temptating!
Your blessed to call this selection budget.😊
Budget by Apple Standards for that many devices
imo - on the Apple Watch/refurbished go with the 7 for the fast charging
Ha 😂. For you to know the iPhone 15 Promax is 350
The iPad is 650
The MacBook is 850. With free shipping on bbcs 🎉🎉🎉
For me the iPhone, iPad and the MacBook is my only go to for the best apple ecosystem
Same here , I feel watch is just useless .
@@hellslayer9638 The watch is definitely not for me either, but it can be useful for many other people depending on their age, disabilities, or career.
I don’t get it, what does an iPad provide that is useful that the mac or iPhone can’t do? at least with the watch you can get its niche benefits
@@lifeisshrt7929 For me, the iPad is the perfect companion device. I know, the internet is collectively rolling their eyes at me for parroting Apple’s marketing, but it’s honestly true. Here’s why:
I travel frequently, perform music and teach ensembles, develop software, and more. If I’m out of town for business or family trips, I have a portable two-monitor setup for programming. If I’m in meetings I can take handwritten notes, which is what I prefer, and then they’re always with me and mutable to textual formats for later. If I’m performing I always have all of my music on hand. If I’m teaching out on the football field with the marching band I always have the PDF coordinates, access to the team Slack and weather for updates in case we need to move inside soon or change plans, and I can use it as a large canvas to give students a visualization of where they need to improve on the next rep.
When I travel I have a movie/music/book with a big screen and no keyboard, making it comfortable to hold in cramped spaces, or again, a two-monitor set up while waiting in the airport terminal or riding the train. Its small footprint makes it great in the kitchen too: big screen for recipes, timers, and music, no keyboard to catch crumbs or drips and it stands up by itself unlike a phone.
If I can only pick three of the four (Mac, iPad, iPhone, Watch), the phone is just as portable to me as a watch, so I don’t feel like I’m missing anything there. I can hold it in my hand while I jog and I have a mount on my road bike or extra space in my jersey pocket. I also just prefer the look of a more classic, traditional watch. I can see how others (nurses, pharmacists, tradespeople, full-time teachers etc. who are on their feet or moving around all day) would prefer the Watch over the iPad, but for my lifestyle the iPad offers unparalleled functionality.
@@lifeisshrt7929That’s how I feel. I also stopped using my iPad when I began using ProMax. I can do most things on this large phone. Anything else, I’ll use my Mac. Can’t live without my Apple Watch
do i get 64gb or 256gb for the ipad as a high school student
You should probably get the 64gb.
I got it and I’m not even using half of the storage, its just not worth spending 200 $ more. Save the 200$ and you could get a case for the iPad and maybe a Apple Pencil too
My ecosystem so far is the iPhone 14 Pro Max (which I’m very happy with) Watch series 9 and AirPods Pro 2nd gen. Looking to get Apple TV and MacBook Air probably the M2
Budget?? APPLE??? I've never seen those two words at the same place 💀🤨
Honestly go with the 12 pro AirPods 2 gen apple watch 6 or the iPhone 13 if it then iPhone 14
I have an I phone 13 (an upgrade on the SE3) I pad mini 4 (going to get the mini 6) Apple Watch SE2 ( Dion’s advice!) and a 27 inch Mac. No buyer’s remorse whatsoever!
Not bad. Sub $1,300 for the whole ecosystem.
I’d get these instead:
iPhone 12
m1 iPad Air
M1 MacBook Air
Apple Watch 5
AirPods.
I don’t know the total cost but it is definitely under $2,000
My value ecosystem:
iPhone 15 Pro
iPad Pro 12.9 M1
MacBook Air M2
Apple Watch Series 7
Get an iPhone 12 instead of an iPhone 11 since the 11 only has 1 more year of software support
I would say at least 13 pro
my apple ecosystem for now just iphone 13 and Macbook Pro 2019 16 inch 😁
I’d go for iPhone 13 Mini, iPad Mini 6 and Macbook Air M1.
Can you fo this every year??? 😅😅
Am going to buy a iphone 15 and macbook air m2....this would be enough to me nowdays
i would get a newer iphone because the 11 won't be supported much longer (i like the 12 mini), skip on the watch (don't care for it), get a USB C pencil, and get at least a 256 gb m1 mac. 256 is bare minimum i would say, i would not consider 128 gb usable.
still a great video, i think you made a modestly robust ecosystem, especially taking advantage of renewed and used products which a lot of people fully ignore
I expected atleast the base iPhone 13 for best value
Better camera
Better processor
More years of software support
IPhone 13 exceeds the budget.
IPhone 11 feels outdated
IPhone 12 is the best deal, you get:
Modren Design, Magsafe, 5G and the camera is practically the same as the 13
iPhone should’ve been 12 pro, as it was the start of the new design and there’s not been any major updates since.
I’m running the 11 pro rn. I see no point in upgrading for my purposes
My personal take on the budget iphone will no doubt be the iphone 15 because even though its more expensive, the presence of the usb c port is enough to justify its value over the older models, and the freedom of choices you have to charge your devices with cables borrowed from friends who dont have an iphone.
And wireless charging doesnt help much either, since in Asian regions, not many people have iPhones, they use more Chinese smartphones, and sometimes in a busy workplace, when your phone runs out of charge, you are out of options! So I usually recommend my friends who wish to go the apple route to just not consider older models and just save up and get the 15, or wait a few months if they can help it for the price it reduce after the iphone 16 is released!
With me it started with an iPhone, then the iPad, Macbook and more. Now my Apple ecosystem is not budget anymore 😂😂.
We are surely looking for the cheapest option but IMO, they must be new and not used. Even refurbished is much more OK.
Bro u need to put the 🍎 pencil and airpod in cheap version
And to make more lean
I will drop the iPad
iPhone and watch + your choice of earbuds
And a MacBook Air M1
If it's for value and budget, iphone x and XR does it's job. I think a lot of people don't care about support.
any 11 series is too old at this point software support wise, i think a 12 series is the absolute bare minimum one should do but a 13 series is more ideal if you can
or do what the top comment said and skip the iPad as most people (especially people in the cheaper price range) don’t need it & should use that money towards a better phone than the 11 series
Edit: Yeah the watch 5 could also be too old software support wise. it’s too close to the 4 & the SE is much better
Nah iPad is very use full
@@dark_nightwing_xl2797 for what duties?
@@lifeisshrt7929 art and work in général its thé fastest yet, they might be expensive but they dont âge quickly with Time
Is it smart to buy refurbished products tho? Doesn’t that mean they may have problems and since they aren’t new the battery is wore down. 😅
I would say 99% just need an iPhone 13 and a MacBook Air M2, and nothing else. Fewer products but with alot better performance and support that would last for years
Maybe iPhone 12 Pro / 13 Pro
And then apple is coming over and says the series 5 isn’t supported annymore after september 😅
I never get these “budget” Apple ecosystem lists that include the Apple Watch. Getting a redundant device when you are financially constrained seems counterintuitive.
It makes more sense to invest the cost of the Apple Watch into a better, newer iPhone, future-proofing even more the value of your investment
3:12 only problem it doesn't have 5G
When are we getting another giveaway? Let's hope it's the Iphone 16
You can get a 12 for less. I got a 13 myself. Not a pro but still good. SE is good. I upgraded to the watch 8 last year. Sporting the iPad Air 2020.
13 is goated
If you dont really care about phone size, get iphone 12 mini. About the same price and more powerful
Battery life sucks
