Everybody’s currently vidding Game of Thrones and Endgame in super high quality right after they’re coming out and here I am with this old stuff. Is the fandom even still alive?
Anyway, I started watching Downton Abbey over a month ago and worked on this for about 3 weeks. I hope it doesn't feel too crammed. I didn't even use all the scenes or voice overs I wanted. Also, the main reason I made this is that Thomas barely has any fan videos. He's only my second favorite character after my sweet boy Matthew who I love with all my heart but Matthew and Mary have a lot more videos than him, so I figured I'd make one with Thomas first. I still want to make one or two with Mary and Matthew but I don't know when and I also don't have a song for them yet. I have a few other videos planned too, like Tony Stark (since a long time), Jaime and Brienne, Jorah Mormont, Daredevil, Ward Meachum, Faramir and maybe Martin Riggs. Please excuse the shitty quality of some of the scenes but I couldn't get them any better from the DVDs. I tried fixing the coloring of every single one of them many (!!) times and this is the best I could do.

Thomas is one of the best and most complex characters. He says and does such terrible things that you can't help but hate him. Then he says or does something so kind and your heart aches for him because he is so lonely and unhappy. He's one of my favorite Downton characters because he's so multi-dimensional. Villain, victim, vulnerable, kind...he's so many things!

One of my favourite lines was him saying "I'm not foul."
There was such self acceptance we rarely see from Thomas because of how beaten down by life he is.
I think that just makes him choosing conversion therapy later on all the more tragic imo.

A man so full of love treated poorly by society Thomas will forever be my favourite character not because he is perfect but because he is real and in pain I see myself so much in him the way he pushes people away because he never wants to get hurt and realises too late he just wants to be loved
Thomas is my favourite character.
At the beginning of the show I didn't know if I would like him or not, but after many and many episodes, I understood that he was very unhappy and that he deserves better.
Thanks for compiling this video. Brought me to tears. Barrow, in my opinion, is the most complex and original character in Downton, infused with humanity and deep sadness.

I really felt for this character and actually can't blame him for all the wrong did he made. I cannot imagine how it must have been for him at that time. Having to hide who you are, not being able to love who you want and knowing you are rejected for the world by that, to the point you think there is something wrong with you. I would have grown resented and mean as well.

When the guy from the queens staff (I forget his name) went to save him from jail I was so happy I accidentally scratched myself rather badly 😅 I was able to control my self slightly better by the time Thomas was the one who got a kiss 💙 Thomas truly deserves to be happy

It's beautiful, I can't stop watching it. Thomas is my favorite character since I started watching this series, actually I watch Dowton Abbey for him, I know he manipulates people, he is mean, he lies and blackmails everyone but now I can see that it was not easy for him too, he finally cut his own veins. It is sad that no one could understand him as he is, he wanted a family, friends, a person who would love him, despite his character, he is a decent guy who knows how to behave in a difficult situation and although no one knows it, he also has feelings.

She binged all seasons in the last couple of days (using the DVDs I essentially bought for making this video) and is a big Thomas fan herself now, so we cheered for him together :) As did the two girls sitting next to us. I've stopped watching DA series after the 2nd season (personal reasons, no TV for several years), and suddenly YT suggested me some video with Thomas Barrow and I ended up binging all seasons several times in a row just for Thomas' sake, and learned that there's actually a movie out!! Not yet out in my coutry, and I hate to watch it in my country's language, so I have to wait till it's out in DVD, which is Dec 17 and I CAN'T WAIT. Though I already know that Thomas needs a second movie to actually be 100% happy. :)

Where is that 0:31 clip from? I've never seen it before. Beautiful video!
Thank you! That scene is from season 3 episode 8 after Carson tells Thomas that he won't give him a reference. BUT here's the thing: For some bizzare reason it's only in the German Amazon version, not in the English one and not on the DVDs. Also, it's in episode 5 in that one because they are cut differently and season 3 only has 6 episodes. It's just a short scene of Thomas going to a cemetery and crying for a bit. There's another one right after O'Brien tells Alfred to stand back and enjoy Thomas' fall and there's a little part after that where Mr. Bates asks her whose fall she's talking about and she says she can't tell, she doesn't remember. That part with Mr. Bates is also not included on the DVDs or the English Amazon version. Like ??? I'm not sure if there are other scenes that are just missing because I was only focussing on the ones with Thomas but I distinctly noticed the absence of those two. Anyway, sorry for the lengthy response but this is super weird.
