I've been a midlength guy for more than ten years now. My favorite board of all time is (was?) a 7-3 Pavel fish with plywood quads. From the first time out, that board changed my outlook on surfing. The tail section was recently crushed in by a Toyota in the parking lot...It broke my heart. It was my favorite inanimate object on the planet...perhaps an impossible replacement.
It is painfully slow, Cali may have no stocking issues in surf shops, but surf shops here on the EC it’s impossible to find anything in the popular dims range for boards. With the cargo ship issues my local shop is getting maybe 2-4 boards at a time from their orders and it’s usually like a 5’5” & a 6’1” that’ll come in. Shit, even the custom orders/shapes have 8+ month waiting time and this isn’t gonna end anytime soon. The only plus-side to all this Is local shapers are getting more orders now.
The reason we're seeing so many people jump on mid length surfboards is bec the new short board model going shorter, fatter, and wider makes the boards like Skimboards with find. They smaller planing surfaces and unless youre a pro or a skateboarder these boards are goibg to give you problems. The flow is different. And tou have to keep these boards goibg fast. Thats doesnt work for most surfers, esp me. They work great for airs and at the top of the eave but if you watch videos with these new short boards youll see people, even pros, get messed up on their bottom turns. 🤔

I just picked up a 7'6" and 8'0" M-13. Sick board for all conditions. Also a 8' Rusty Desert Island.

I love my mid Length
Dude makes great short boards but LOVELACE is the king of the midlength.
Britt didn’t look too stoked with the interview.
Why would he? The dude asking questions is a clown.
