I just want to say that Britt's pastoral Ministry has ministered to me in a deep and profound way. He took the time to email me back when I had a question about a Bible study resource. From the way he taught God's word, to the how he modeled leadership I have been so impacted watching from afar here in Oceanside. I can't imagine the pain and loss the family has been through. I pray he and Kate are so enriched and content in this season, and that God would one day bring him back into pastoral ministry again. We need more pastors and shepherds who can preach and plant churches, and Britt has shown a great example of that. The gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Praying for you brother, thanks for letting God " bamboozle" you for 20 years. I'll pray He does it again for another 20!

We miss his teaching. It ministered to so many of us. I never felt burdened listening to him teach just conviction at times. Just really special teaching.

I miss your Bible teaching soo much Britt. You had such a wonderful annointing to teach Gods word. I used to watch you every week from Australia and will never forget your Matthew 1 sermon. Amazing. I pray that we will be blessed again one day with your sermons and that at this time, you will continue to find peace with God in your daily life and be blessed.

Pastor Britt! You and I only met a time or two early in the Reality Carp days. Carp is our home away from home. And we were so happy to have an awesome church to go to when we would visit Carp. We loved your faithful ministry. We prayed endlessly for you and your family while Daisy was sick. We are so happy to know you continue to be a blessing and continue to be blessed. Just wanted you to know the Trujillos from Redlands love you and your family, and still love Reality Carp! Be well.

I wondered what happened to Britt Merrick. I used to listen to his Bible teaching program on the radio. I'm glad to hear he is doing well and I thank you for posting.

God is good Britt! Praying for you and CI and for the preaching of the Gospel of Christ to be shared wherever you are at. God is the one who changes hearts. Love HIM first! "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men," - Colossians 3:23

I’m sorry for the loss of his child. God bless.
I’ve heard similar stories about Burton. I never met him, but people tell me that he was a great guy.

I used to listed to Britt occasionally as some of my friends were really into his teaching; I remember he went through the book or Romans and was in it for 5 years from what I remember. This is a sad reverse testimony in a sense that leaving the pastorate returning to surfing business is what brought him peace? Jesus says he give us His peace not as the world gives and that is a peace that surpasses understanding. The burn out and conclusion that he had given everything he had to give is something that Paul never once considered and finished his race. In Mathew 24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 25 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will find it. Seems Brett found this and now has chosen to leave behind what was the glorious call into ministry and is testifying that surf life better path for him. He did not state any scriptures or notes on hearing from God in prayer on this decision but circumstances and feelings seemed to be leading. I'll be praying for Britt and family something seems off.

The only time I came close to Al, he was passing out bulletins at church. Not a high position. I was in awe of his humility.

You can read a lot into Britt's body language as he is questioned about the church he started and how he relaxes when he starts talking about surfing. Personally I'm not sure if God calls someone only for a season or only for a single reason even - but if Britt claims to have found happiness in returning to his earthly dad's family business then who are we to question that?

Yes surfing is so important to further the glory of God. As much as smoking dope..they went out because they were never there to begin with. May God open your eyes.

Oh brother. The Lord blesses us with creativity and the ability to create, work and provide for our families. Even in changing jobs the name of Jesus is lifted high as those who don’t know Jesus here his name when they see Britt and Al claim his name. Don’t make surfing an idol and God is fine with us having recreation and joy.

They love hearing themselves talk. And be right....even though they're not. People get to God all kinda ways, just not through hypocrisy.

Hello James, it's a tough world not really knowing our place. When people meet Jesus they get really excited about how things in their life begin to fall into place and even how to make sense out of the bad. I truly hope you have this experience asap if you haven't already. Have a Blessed Day
