I've made fire cider so many different ways over the years. The only "best" way for me is to chop and thinly slice, you still get ALL the benefits 😊 and I love to see what is actually put in the jar. When I grate or super chop you just can't see the wonderful beauty. YES, I believe that is part of the process, as you pour your love in the jar also when looking at it ❤ There really isn't a wrong way!
Great video! What you need to research further is that tumeric won't activate unless there's black pepper...even just 1/8th teaspoon. Keep up the good work
I have 2 gallons brewing now, it will be ready in December, I drink a shot glass everyday, then I blend the veggies in my blender and make another batch, I might add some more lemons and cinnamon sticks with the apples cider vinegar
I love this! Thank you! I love homemade drinks for when you're sick. I HATE medicine.... Tastes soooo bad, even the scent makes me gag.. I will avoid it at allll costs😂
Thanks for sharing this. Been so busy entering my third trimester I haven’t done anything to prep myself for the coming flu/cold season, especially the year we need it most!’nn
I am trying to get my herb garden built up but my goodness plants are so expensive to get started, so I don't have a lot of plants going yet just try to add a couple each year
Definitely going to try your recipe! I made some last year and was nervous about the garlic turning green, after some research I found out this was just a reaction from the vinegar and is perfectly safe.
I love taking the main ingredients of a recipe and putting my own spin on it. There are so many other herbs and spices you can add to make it your own ❤️
Lovely video! I love your knowledge. After letting the fire cider brew for a few weeks as you mentioned in your video….. I am assuming you strain off the liquid. How do you store the fire cider and how long does it stay fresh? Do you add honey to it? How much fire cider do you take?
Thank you so much for sharing this! After 4 years of wanting to make my own for my family, I made it and now have been using our first batch! To my surprise, my daughter doesn't throw a fit. Question, how long would you say this is good for and does it need to be stored a certain way?! ❤
Love the idea Jill but I have two questions. How much do you eat at one time? Also I had acid reflux after taking apple cider vinegar. Can it be substitute with something else?
Great questions. We take a tablespoon as a preventative and up to two ounces if we have symptoms. I’m sure you can use other fruit vinegar as a substitute but the acidity will be the same
@@juliaschreiber7819 It is possible to make your own vinegar out of any fruit, please research it, I do my research for making things on TH-cam, all the best.
new to this stuff. Fire Cider? how do you take it? how much do you take? a tsp from the jar? a few drops in water? I love knowing how to make stuff but how much and how often and how to consume? please and than you. Love your videos
I've been wanting to make this but haven't had the nerve lol. I think when I do, though, I will mix it with some honey when I take it. Maybe it won't be quite so aggressive then lol.
I see you have covered your jar with a cloth...do you use the metal lid as well or the cloth only so it breathes? Also...how long will this last sitting in a warm spot??? Is there ever a time to refrigerate?
Is there a substitute or is it OK to omit onion? My daughter recently discovered she has a pretty nasty reaction to all onions. I had made her fire cider last year and she was ok with it, but recently she had an anaphylaxis type reaction.
If you’re taking it straight up and on an empty stomach it may be irritating to you. Try putting just a tablespoon in a cup of already brewed herbal tea. Diluting the way you take it can make a big difference in how you digest it.
Maybe I'm making mine wrong .... I kinda enjoy fire cider. Everyone I have offered it to gags though 😂 I love learning other peoples recipes for this, I'd never have thought to add lavendar to it ... I really like that idea 💕

Your the best Jill❤👌 greetings from Belgium
Hey thank you for joining us all the way from Belgium
I love you teaching us on the herbal medicine available to us in our own backyard

I have seen on TH-cam that some people dry the FireCider ingredients after use and use it as a seasoning.
Great instructions; thanks for sharing! Stay well & blessings to everyone 🤗💕🇨🇦

Hey a little at a time is better than nothing at all. I love the idea of starting with a few and adding some every year.
Thank you for making a kid friendly recipe! ❤ My husband wasn’t amused by the one I made 2 years ago, but he loved the sweetness of Elderberry syrup.
You are so welcome!
I take fire cider and wash it down with elderberry.
Nice job Mama! Just what we all need
Excellent video!! Thanks for sharing and making it simple!!!
I have a recipe from Doug and Stacey and I love that stuff
It's so good!
Thank you 🐝

What do you do with the scraps after you strain off the cider?
You can blend them in the blender and make another batch, or freeze them for 🍲 soups, or dehydrate them for seasoning

I’m glad you liked it. I would store in the fridge and probably good for a year

I've seen you can make it with brewed green tea instead of acv, but I don't know if they let it ferment the same way.
I need to get mine started. Thanks for sharing!
I'm unable to have apple. Could I make another sort of fruit vinegar as a substitute? Or is there another substitution I could use?
I’m sure you can use any fruit vinegar and get similar results
I wanted to try making fire cider this year. Great timing! Thank you 😊

I believe you strain it when it's ready, and you take like a tablespoon a day. That's what I've seen on other channels

Hi there. GO FOR IT! I have ALWAYS added honey to my finished product. It's just another layer of immunity protection and better flavor. ENJOY
Great idea

Is it hard d to grow horseradish? I live in CT I’d also like to grow ginger???
Grow horseradish in a pot or it will take over your garden. That is our experience.
I haven’t seen any of your videos in so long! Omg I have missed you in my feed! TH-cam is so lame sometimes!
Welcome back friend ❤️
Can you can fire cider?
If you did, you would kill most, if not all, of the good bacteria from it fermenting. You can store it in the frig after straining it.
How much would an adult take daily with a cold onset?
A tablespoon for preventative or up to two ounces if you have symptoms
Juat made 4 quarts of my "hotter'n hell" fire cider (its not all that spicy but its always hot as heck outside when i make it in the summer lol)
I made fire cider one time and I'm not sure what I did wrong but it was waaaaaay too strong. it made me so sick :(
