Good tutorial, but it didn't work for me initially. I was trying to use my webcam for the mic and I needed to go to Menu/Settings/Configure Kdenlive/Capture/Audio and select the device (microphone) to use. Because the audio quality was so poor, I also needed to apply the TAP Equalizer effect, but the end result was not bad.
This explains "voice" but without "over"! I can create an _audio_ track and do _audio_ recording. But the "clip monitor" changes to "project monitor" once you start recording. And then you are unable to watch the clip while you are talking, so you cannot time your voiceover to the video. Watching the clip while you are recording however is the cuicial and essential part of a voice over, otherwise it's only voice. So how do we bring them together?
The Kdenlive designers have apparently decided that the narration is associated with the the project, i.e. the assemblage of clips, rather than the original clips themselves. It works for me.
