The audio issue is a common one. It happens becuase the snip point is when the waveform is not at 0 exactly, leaving a cliff that makes an audible blip. If you have issues with this in various programs, look for a setting that says something like "clip at zero crossings" or something like that which will either fade out the audio before it a bit to 0, or quantize it to the closest zero crossing. Many editors do this as a rule (as Kdenlive does now apparently)

It would be nice if it could work as well as Davinci or even half as good. But it's like 6 different things smashed into a video editor sadly. We need a new video editor wrote from ground up. Kdenlive keeps changing every update, then brakes, doesn't work right without the knowledge to fix it whatever distribution and Desktop environment you're using. I was using stills and timing the scene changes to the audio beats. I used 100+ stills in a ~45 second long video. However, I am not producing that kind of video anymore.
A few months back, I started producing scriptless videos. I am using CapCut video editor. But a software engineering friend is gifting me with a laptop with Linux OS. With both the desktop version of CapCut and the mobile it does what I want it to do.
When I was doing scripted videos, I would record the audio separately from the video. I would process it through audicity and speed it up. Then build a a video around that audio track.
CapCut does do automatic pitch correction when speeding up or slowing down video. Can Kdenlive do this? Further, can you increase video speed in smaller incriminates like 1.1, 1.2, ... 1.9, 2.0% faster?

I put together a video on a week long bicycle trip, in total it had maybe 30 video chunks and 30 photos, plus 8 or so title cards. Not terribly complex. My problem is that KDEnlive crashed. A LOT. Not doing any one thing either, just sort of randomly. Sometimes while dropping a photo into the timeline, sometimes scootching a video clip over in the timeline, sometimes while playing the edited stream. In most cases it would just suddenly get very stuttery, the mouse cursor would become jumpy and slow, the entire system would very nearly lock up (still working but clicking on another window would take 30 seconds to change focus) then after between 5 seconds and 5 minutes, KDEnlive would just close and the system would return to normal. I'd say in the course of 4 days it must have crashed at least 60 times. All the source material was 4K MP4 and JPGs. This can't be normal can it?

It works in Windows Perfect. That is the only reason I have a copy of Windows. Just for DaVinci. If you know how to fix this, then please let me know. Thanks for your time.

The issue I have with KDEnlive is colour flickering especially at the end of a clip before another begins, never shows up during playback within KDEnlive always on the final rendered file, and only goes away with a h265 mp4 which doesn't work well with my TV or Android playback also the file is stupidly large, so now I'm debating Davinci Resolve Studio because I'm also tired of Natron crashing on me during lengthy effects projects.

Used flow blade when I started. Used iMovie after that as rendering was faster. Used a windows 7 I made into Mint laptop. Now I use Kdenlive 19.?? whatever is in the software manager. I did use a more updated kdenlive and didn’t like how I had to fiddle around trying to find gain and transform. Subtitles suck in iMovie and having to use gimp with transparent background is just pointless busywork but at least it gets something done.

Using Mp3 files in any editor is risky. Even if you don't hear a pop like you did in Kdenlive. I would always stay away from Mp3 in any type of timeline. Also; I don't know any software that won't give you issues if you change the project framerate mid editing.

profiles is my and only enemy in Kdenlive. I got used to After Effects's easy-to-change composition settings, where I can simply change fps and resolution and it won't ask me to create new profile for that or would corrupt anything. I have been ha happy kdenlive user for many years making local television - multitrack and compared to limited avid studio in the old days.
But DR is cool but I can't just import my files from Gopro and canon files - I need to transcode them - also I can't do h264 out rendering so I render out to dnxhd format so I need to transcode the output from Davincy Resolve to smaller mp4 - but maybe its because I use the free version - but the free versions does work fine on mac, windows.
I can use the transcoder part of kdenlive but strange that the Linux version of Davincy is limited on the this part.
