Thanks for the clear tutorial and no background music! I been trying some editing on just downloaded kdenlive 22.08.2 and realise now the mistakes I am making. 👍👍👍😀
You're the most clear, informative and well paced creator I've seen to address Kdenlive tutorials. Thanks a lot for helping me to learn, I just transitioned from Filmora and while some things carry over, it's not all super intuitive. You got a like and sub from me.
This was awesome. This is my first ever editing tool to use, and I found a couple.... not so helpful videos. Yours was so thorough and answered all of my questions, and now I can come back to it and reference it while I am messing around with my own videos! Thank you for the work you put into this! Loved it!
After seeing a few Kdenlive tutorials I must say that you are the best so far! Well structured, with chapters (absolutely essential when learning a lot of new information), easy to understand, and made by somebody who actually knows what he's doing. Definitely worthy of my like and comment for the almighty YT algorithm ;) PS: Have you ever used the "Insert Zone in Project Bin" instead of directly dragging it from the Clip Monitor? Seems pretty useful for large project where you want to prepare multiple scenes from a large continuous shot in advance. However, it doesn't seem to work for me: I create a zone, click the insert button (or press Ctrl+I), but nothing appears in the Project Bin. It only appears as a step in the undo history, but that's it...
Thank you for the comment. Yes, I use Insert Zone (CTRL + I) all the time. That’s weird because it should work. You will need to set the In and Out points before pressing (CTRL + I). This is how you select the zone. Press I to set the In-Zone. This will designate the start of clip. Then Press O at the end of the clip. You will see a Yellow highlighted zone. Now you can press CTRL + I to set aside this zone in your Project Bin
@@victorianodejesus Thank you for your explanation. I already found out where the problem lies - everything worked as it should, but I didn't see the added zone because the Project Bin structure didn't expand so there was no visible change. Being new to the UI it didn't occur to be I should look for a small arrow to expand the source video 🙂 I guess it should expand for the first item and respect the current state of the tree view for subsequently added zones. Anyway I solved this issue thanks to your 2023 tutorial. I should make a comment there for the algorithm as well, you deserve it :)
Excellent tutorial Victoriano! You have a good voice. Most of all you kept your "talking head" out of the tutorial. Good luck to you. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you good sir for uploading this video. I've been looking for a video editor for a while and have been having a devil of a time trying to find one that is similar to my last one. This definitely helps, many thanks to you!
Hello Victoriano. I thought that this tutorial was very well organized and thought out. It seemed very easy to follow what you were doing. I did open kdenlive. And with my mouse I pointed to many of the same items that you clicked on. I thought that some of the tasks got slightly involved. But certainly they'll not be anything that I can't master without practice. I use Zorin OS on a Toshiba satellite with an AMD e1-2100 1.6 GHz proc married to an embedded Radeon graphics proc 8Gb RAM and a 240 GB SSD. I'm tentatively planning on using kdenlive to do PPD editing and mix down of my personal music videos. It's unfortunate that it's not a tool enabled to do multicam. Another app will have to suffice. Thankfully, the timelines have padlocks to the left that permit syncing of audio with video. This was very good. Thank you for helping me get started.
You really explain well and the way you tell us what you are explaining, thanks! Subscribed for the Kdenlive new version help for incase you do that :-)
love these instruction vids! But i have a question. is there a shortcut to go back to the beginning of your timeline. without dragging the marker back to start?
For people new to this - The cursor is so small and fast moving it make it disappear and cant be followed. Make the cursor a bright colour like red and move a bit slower on screen. Hope this help you. With Ubuntu you can make the icon bigger and a nice red. With Windows there is a nice option - Use Goggle to find it.
wow I really wish I knew about the spacer tool beforehand... I was editing for my first time & chopping up clips was all going smooth when suddenly I had to put something near the beginning so I moved every single clip to the right individually including transitions... nightmare
Is there an easier way to cut a clip than aiming with your mouse at the exact spot? Could you for example pause your clip at a certain point an click the cut button to cut the clip at the exact point that you´re paused at? Or do you need to point and click with your mouse?
Unfortunately, I don't know of a keyboard only workflow for cutting. I understand what you mean and it would definitely save so much time if we had this option.
Hi just wanted to reach out to let you know I have added links to your account as part of a video I have put together to bring together a source for promoting content and tutorial makers in FOSS to raise the level of awareness of the true power of open source to use in their everyday life as artists and in general day to day!
Hello, I know you might not respond to my comment, but I wanted to know if you think it's best to add a clip transition or just let the clips switch over to the next clip with no transition? Trying to learn at least basic video editing for my TH-cam channel I'll be making
Sziasztok! Előre is köszönöm!
A bit hard to explain just with text, but use the forward/back arrow to navigate to the keyframe you want to delete. Then press the delete keyframe button. I'll go over keyframes in a future tutorial.
I installed KDenlive with Ubuntu and it didn't work. None of these video editors will just install and run without any problems. They all have bugs that make them worthless.

love these instruction vids! But i have a question. is there a shortcut to go back to the beginning of your timeline. without dragging the marker back to start?
Never mind. I figured it out. u can use arrow for small jumps, shift + arrow for bigger jumps. And ctrl + arrow to jump all the way to each end.
I was wondering too. Thanks for the tip! There should be a back button to go back to the beginning. 👍👍👍😊
Thank you :)
Very helpful
