90% of us will never be in a position to buy an Omega Speedmaster. $12K+ is insane money regardless of how amazing the watch is. However, 100% of us can afford the Casio calculator watch, and honestly, you'll probably get more comments and questions about it than you will get about the speedy.

I bought my year-old hesalite last fall for $3,500 in perfect condition. That's still a ton of money I realize, but far more attainable for people.
Also I wear my Casio all the time still because it's a great watch.

My Speedy was the watch i wanted since my very early 20's, but even then i knew spending that kind of money on a watch was crazy, so I set a rule that i wouldn't buy until I had no debt. First paid off the student loan, then bought my first house... Then my next house, and finally at 38 years old last fall i paid off the mortgage and was able to buy my Speedy. It's as good as advertised, and it makes me happy every time i look at it. Even more so knowing that I stuck to my convictions to get it.

New MWC vid and I hit the like before it starts to play. Willard is on my Seiko short list for sure, as my turtle fits amazing as well, and runs only 3 seconds fast per day, I forget that it’s on, Seiko magic really, but I want the SLA Willard with the grey dial(SBDX047) as I avoid the 6R movements. As far as a limited edition, my SJE093 is amazing, and love my kanji version of the SRPK17 #555. My 5610u is my daily tool, along with my OG frogman, and love my 40th anniversary team tough square as well. And man, there’s a new Pogue just released, got to get that one for sure. Snap, pulled the trigger on a 3861 and negotiated 20% discount at high street retailer one year ago. Was my grail, always kept going back to this watch but the 1863/ 1861 wore too large for me. Nato, bracelet, artem sail cloth, strap monster- can’t stop looking at it. The 911 of watches.

Favourite in my collection right now is the new GBM-2100A that G-shock have just released. They have fixed all the problems with the GM-2100. Now it has Solar, bluetooth (if you want it ?!) , beautiful colours and got rid of the nasty illegible negative digital display and replaced it with a positive display. It is now legible and beautiful.....as a result I sold my GM-2100-1AER (which I did love, but couldn't read the time on it) and bought a GBM-2100A-1A2ER which has a Vapour Blue dial.......gorgeous.....check it out.....

The glycine combat sub. You can usually find a version of the combat sub for around $300 tax and all if you really look hard enough. And definitely no more than about $375. And for a Swiss made automatic dive watch with sapphire crystal and selita sw200 and metal movement retainer ring and crown stem gasket it should be the dive watch that everyone should own. I also wanna add one more and that’s a bulova precitionist with a sapphire crystal. There is a few but I’m gonna say the bulova jetstar precitionist. For only around $400 you get an in house quartz movement from a big brand name with sapphire crystal that ticks 16 times a seconds so the seconds hand is smoother than any automatic or mechanical watch you’ll ever own unless you count the spring drive by grand seiko and the precitionist is accurate to between five and ten seconds a year. So it’s really a set and forget until day light savings. If you want something with a really smooth sweeping seconds hand that you don’t have to correct for day light savings time your spending jlc or Patek money. So yeah everyone should go out and buy a glycine combat sub auto and a bulova precitionist, preferably with a sapphire crystal.

I guess I’m in the minority, but I owned a Willard, SPB237 and loved the way it looked but didn’t like how it wore on my wrist. It just looked small. I ended up trading it for a SPB143 which is one of my favorites.

I own both of those, and I must say I pick up the 143 more often than the 237. I love them both though.

Just love the speedmaster, but don’t think I would buy that, because of the price. For that kind of money I could buy so many cool watches!
One of the watches others should consider is the Orient Kamasu watch. Specially the bluish green dial. 🔥

The watch i would recommend people to try if they have the means is a Breitling Navitimer. Unfortunately my version the Heritage with the Integrated Bracelet and Flyback movement has been discontinued for about 15 years now, but what an absolutely stunning historic timepiece. It will forever be in my collection. 👍👍

@@pauln0371word. I can’t stand the argument people make: why buy the real thing? You can get something else for less!
Sinn is a good brand and the Sinn Navitimer is a good watch. But no. It is not a Breitling.
Even if the ersatz version has similar specifications on paper, what someone is actually paying for with the real thing is connection to history and for the pride and sense of accomplishment. You cannot get that from a substitute.

Can I ask a question. I can see that lots of watch channels are loving the G-Shock. However, there are - as far as I can tell - boat loads of digital Casio watches. Is there any reason in particular why people are singling out the G-Shock as being more special than all the others?

A G-Shock that goes under the radar, but is easy to get, cheap, and works for a smaller wrist (I also have 6.5" wrists) is the G9000 Mudmaster. I know you're mentioned it before, but at only ~$75 bucks, you get a seriously beefy watch that feels like a step up in durability over other G's (especially in this price range). Plus, it was developed with Dakar rally drivers in mind and features a mole on the caseback. :)

Those buttons are awfully stiff, though. You won't operate them unintentionally, you can barely operate them intentionally 😳 I hope my G9000 loosens up over time.

Just an FYI. Casio dropped the U from the 5610 model lineup as all of them now have the updated module and they dumped the old SKU. They're back to just being the 5610-1 again
