Whoever thought at 343 industries that this mission on average (par time) takes 15 minutes is insane. Even on easy mode you have to book it all the way to get that kind of time.

1:10 is a really good reference point because if you notice in classic the mointain is pointy right there once you get around that point is usually where you want to let go of the left stick but it depends where you are looking since that is the move forward button.

Yakko Warner Just keep doing the jump and its just luck so if you dont get it keep on because its luck. Also right when you get down shoot the banshee with your pistol :)
Two hours and finally got it!! Everyone having problems with the second jump, the key for me at least is to wait a bit longer before turning/turn a bit more slowly because most of the time I was landing short of the little spike that you need to land to not slide off.
Dying over and over to the bridge jump shortcut is a small price to pay for a entire level of peaceful driving, it’s so satisfying when you finally get it right and can enjoy that 6 minutes of quiet driving after all the power enemies you’ve dealt

For anyone needing more help on the bridge drop you can find some good tutorials here on youtube by searching "assault on the control room skip" I also found the first jump off the bridge to be easier going off the other side. You just jump forward about 3-4 feet before you reach the lip.

There was a time when I got bored at the bridge threw a grenade at my feet and flew down and survived. I sat there for five minutes wondering what happened and why it was so funny. Never could make it happen again.
Took me 4 tries to get the first jump down every time. After 30 minutes i had gotten the second jump twice (i fell off after walking a bit on the first one :P).
I remember finding this in the original! I can't remember if my neighbor showed me or if we just happened to stumble across it when messing around but it was an awesome bypass method. I'm glad they didn't fix that in the remastering.

Some great video guides. Still learning how to play Legendary but just did AotCR Leg in a shade over ten minutes. Pretty chuffed with that, nailed second and third parts of bridge-jump first time :O Thanks Eli!
Following up on my last post. You DO get the achievement for beating par time. I just did it on normal to get through that first section faster. I got it done in 9:01. Thanks again Eli!! That's awesome. Now to beat it on legendary, the normal way.
A fun glitch I noticed is that in actuality, you can still get the full level de-spawn half-way through the mission. This is how: In a normal playthrough, you get the tank after getting past the area at the bottom of this first bridge, where the pelican drops off marines. Now, when going across this bridge where Eli drops down, however painful it may be, do not kill the Banshee. Instead progress through the level as normal until you get to the tank. Now once you have the tank, clear out the first 'tank area' where there are like 2 - 3 (maybe 4?, area at 2:17) wraiths in this canyon like basin. Here, there is a natural ramp (as in there is no metal, the ground is just dirt which slopes down, area at 2:30). Go down that ramp and make sure the Banshee comes down with you and starts circling there. Once again, do not kill it. Instead, get out of the tank and try and get it to bash into the wall so that the Elite drops out. It can also help to have the sniping marine from the original location of the tank (the guy who looks like Johnson, he's pretty obvious so you won't miss him) as he can actually snipe the Elite out of his Banshee making the Banshee grab easier. Now after you have the Banshee, continue on with the mission and clear everything in the underground canyon like bit with the bridge, two hunters and such in it (its the part literally right after the sequence I described above, this area at 2:55) with your tank, leaving the Banshee where the Elite fell out of it near the door (this door at 2:39). Once you have done that, run back to your Banshee, get in and fly through the rest of the underground section, all the way to the part where the cave opens up into the next canyon (area at 3:32). When you come out of the cave mouth fly straight up until you get above the butte in the middle of the canyon (this thing at 3:32 which Eli is looking at). At this point you can grab a new Banshee from the top if your original is damaged, but from this point onwards as long as you fly as high up as possible until your reach this bridge (bridge at 4:39), every enemy from that point on should be de-spawned and you can run on through. So if any of you are struggling with the bridge drop and want an easier albeit much slower method then use that. So far it has a 100% consistency rate for me out of the 13 times I've tried it.
Wow thank you! I stupidly accidentally restarted the mission on legendary at the very end when I had to quit and was so not looking forward to spending an hour and a half to beat it! I was literally at the spot where it gives you the banchee on the snow bridge… Took me 15 minutes to accomplish this!

I just did this for the first time on Halo CEA on xbox 360! Took me about 30 minutes. I actually defeated all of the enemies on the bridge APART from the final elite with the sword and his grunts. I also took out the banshee with the a turret. I think that helped me a LOT, not having to avoid the banshee doing the second drop. Really a pain in the ass but such an awesome trick!! I loved going through that landscape with no enemies. I also read that this doesn't work for PAL? Well, it seems it does for Halo CEA on the 360...
Instead of the bridge jump, you can grenade jump onto the pelican that flies past the bridge and it lands near the entry to the underground area thingy
I know this is old, but anyway...that was my first impression too, many years ago--but if you take time to notice details, all those interior "roundabouts" are unique: Some are more similar than others and some have marked differences; but There are no two alike.
Addendum: It may be boring for speedrunning, but this is the BEST level for playing tricks on the Covies. TONS of opportunities to exploit glitches! There's a place where I can manipulate a banshee into running down a couple dozen of its own troops. Takes a long time to set it up, and I have to keep egging it on to go postal on its fellow Covies, but I saved the profile and it was worth it. That's just one of many tricks I've set up in this mission.
This level and two betrayals always was my fav maps on this game when I was little, I guess it was because of the vehicles you could drive lol, but now when im older I actually fansy Keyes and last level more, I like when there is alot of different enemies that fight eachoter.
Damn I was happy when I finally got that jump down. For that first drop I held the stick all the way up and to the left, kinda North-West if you will, and I hit it pretty much every time. Second part of the drop was harder but I got that eventually. Great video!
Just a tip for people having trouble with the bridge jumping, it is easier to do in co-op. Right before the first player makes his descent, have the second player die and if you can get Chief to slide down the bank without dying on Impact, the second player will respawn up there and save you the issue of constantly restarting. Obviously not useful if you're doing a LASO run, but works fine for the 3 hour speedrun achievement.
After trying and failing for about 45 minutes on normal, I went back and did it in about 6 tries on legendary. Practice is definitely necessary on this one.
1:01 or just stay at a certain spot of that area and make the banshee come to you and if the banshee flips over by the wall to where the elite jumps put take it and fly to the second to last bridge.
You can snipe the elite out of the banshee because sometimes he gets stuck in the door and then use the banshee through the level and no one will spawn.
For the longest time i was trying to hug the wall on the second drop, then I just tried falling parallel to wall and finally stuck the landing, if you wanna practice the jump more often in shorter time plug in a second controller and play on easy, do the jump melee down the hall to delay the checkpoint and set the checkpoint just before u hop on the edge of the bridge, make the first jump on your main controller, pick up ur second controller and suicide that character(ur 2nd controller), your second controller will now spawn with your main on the cliff edge. Now use your main controller to practice the second jump to your hearts content. You will always spawn on the cliff. IMO the second jump is harder
The Second jump is very tricky but with practice you can pull it off about 70% of the time then the final drop is slightly easier if you go the other way around and drop down by the rocks with the marines. It does require a bit of luck hoping the banshee doesn't kill you which can be very frustrating!! I would advise taking 30 seconds to kill the banshee once you reach the ground to be safe and then just follow the guide on where to go :)
I saw a drop that is just off the first bridge like you did to the right. But it is all the way to the bottom. Then you wait for the pelican to come down right near you and then you get in the pelican and it flies you quickly through the first canyon to the first ghost. Saw that about 12 years ago.
That fucking Banshee makes me want to cry. I spent 30 minutes before I gave up. Any time I made any progress it took me down. I even made it to the bottom sometimes but it follows me and continues to fuck me up. I can't do it.
Jay Rall Yeah, that never worked. I could try all I wanted but that banshee kills me in 3 shots. Eventually I got past just by running over and over until i got a run where it didn't follow. But there is no way in hell I can out-shoot a banshee. Not when it's pinpoint accurate and I die in 3 shots.

Jay Rall Well, as I said, I already made it past, it just took a lot of runs to get one where the banshee was too slow to catch me. But that fucker did not have awful accuracy, that's for sure. He even shot me out of the air while I was dropping to the canyon floor once. He's a complete dick.
There's an easier way of doing the first jump that only takes a few seconds longer; jump off the opposite side of the bridge and hold forward as much as possible, you'll land on a little slope just before you hit the ledge which softens your fall, sometimes completely. You can then move backwards to where you jump off for the second jump.
This shit took me 1 hour to complete but it's worth it definitely my favorite speedrun technic same with the keys mission I came back and did this mission and I can still do the second first try but definitely practice guys this shit looks easy but its gonna take a lot of work
There's a new glitch that saves about 50 seconds by getting the banshee by the first bridge I suggest checking out badcyborgmovies video on it or watch garishgoblins speed run if you're interested in the glitch
Ooooh really:D well, I've just done that trick after 10 minutes of trying (tried to do something like that for the first time)...I investigated the whole level from above with one of those banshees, I made 2 or 3 my child dreames come true..but than the damn door was closed. I've watched your video again and again and found out that THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT CASES OF CONNECTED ROOMS in the moment when you leave your banshee. In the first case, when the door is opened, there is a room, with 2 glass bridges and the small passage between these two rooms, also in this case the second room has blocked passage on the left side of it and a big square structure in the middle with sparks above it. In the second case, when the door is locked, the first room is just a room, WITHOUT those glass bridges in the middle, the passage in between is a typical huge doorway, but without the door, it leads to the passage with pillars on the left side of it and than to the second room with a huge 2-floored installation in the middle (there are usually a lot of enemies inside those installations), then the doorway and this locked door:)

I have just done this on legendary using the banshee method from garish goblin. Took a bit of practice but worked

If you notice you see him grab a banshee and fly to the second half of the bridge. I too got a locked door but I rewatched and now I beat it.

After 55 minutes, I finally made it. That drive was so calm and relaxing.
You can actually steal the Banshee that’s shooting at you which is a lot easier then doing the jump

Thats pretty good. Just have to keep doing it over and over and over and you eventually get the knack of it. (the second jump).

Great tutorial, managed to do it on my 6th attempt. Just be critical with yourself and why you missed it each time you fail and you'll get it

You're actually both wrong. You have to complete Halo CE, 2, 3 & 4 on Legendary difficulty on the Master Chief Collection ONLY. (co-op is allowed)

You will eventually get it, just try and the banshi may or may not kill you when you finally got to the ground.

You can skip the bridge jump by jumping off the opposite side and holding forward....

Instead of the bridge jump, you can grenade jump onto the pelican that flies past the bridge and it lands near the entry to the underground area thingy
This is the most boring level ever. Extremely repetitive. They basically copy and pasted the same building interior 8 times
I know this is old, but anyway...that was my first impression too, many years ago--but if you take time to notice details, all those interior "roundabouts" are unique: Some are more similar than others and some have marked differences; but There are no two alike.
Addendum: It may be boring for speedrunning, but this is the BEST level for playing tricks on the Covies. TONS of opportunities to exploit glitches! There's a place where I can manipulate a banshee into running down a couple dozen of its own troops. Takes a long time to set it up, and I have to keep egging it on to go postal on its fellow Covies, but I saved the profile and it was worth it. That's just one of many tricks I've set up in this mission.

This level and two betrayals always was my fav maps on this game when I was little, I guess it was because of the vehicles you could drive lol, but now when im older I actually fansy Keyes and last level more, I like when there is alot of different enemies that fight eachoter.

Damn I was happy when I finally got that jump down. For that first drop I held the stick all the way up and to the left, kinda North-West if you will, and I hit it pretty much every time. Second part of the drop was harder but I got that eventually. Great video!
Just a tip for people having trouble with the bridge jumping, it is easier to do in co-op. Right before the first player makes his descent, have the second player die and if you can get Chief to slide down the bank without dying on Impact, the second player will respawn up there and save you the issue of constantly restarting. Obviously not useful if you're doing a LASO run, but works fine for the 3 hour speedrun achievement.

After trying and failing for about 45 minutes on normal, I went back and did it in about 6 tries on legendary. Practice is definitely necessary on this one.

1:01 or just stay at a certain spot of that area and make the banshee come to you and if the banshee flips over by the wall to where the elite jumps put take it and fly to the second to last bridge.
This run is so satisfying to pull off
I also recommend to use the d pad for walking off the bridge it locks you into place easily

You can snipe the elite out of the banshee because sometimes he gets stuck in the door and then use the banshee through the level and no one will spawn.

I did a variant of the bridge jump by accident once when I was a young'n. Made it to the ground below. Spent years trying to redo it.
For the longest time i was trying to hug the wall on the second drop, then I just tried falling parallel to wall and finally stuck the landing, if you wanna practice the jump more often in shorter time plug in a second controller and play on easy, do the jump melee down the hall to delay the checkpoint and set the checkpoint just before u hop on the edge of the bridge, make the first jump on your main controller, pick up ur second controller and suicide that character(ur 2nd controller), your second controller will now spawn with your main on the cliff edge. Now use your main controller to practice the second jump to your hearts content. You will always spawn on the cliff. IMO the second jump is harder
The Second jump is very tricky but with practice you can pull it off about 70% of the time then the final drop is slightly easier if you go the other way around and drop down by the rocks with the marines. It does require a bit of luck hoping the banshee doesn't kill you which can be very frustrating!! I would advise taking 30 seconds to kill the banshee once you reach the ground to be safe and then just follow the guide on where to go :)
I saw a drop that is just off the first bridge like you did to the right. But it is all the way to the bottom. Then you wait for the pelican to come down right near you and then you get in the pelican and it flies you quickly through the first canyon to the first ghost. Saw that about 12 years ago.

That fucking Banshee makes me want to cry. I spent 30 minutes before I gave up. Any time I made any progress it took me down. I even made it to the bottom sometimes but it follows me and continues to fuck me up. I can't do it.
They are easy? Just jump down onto the first ledge then focus fire that banshee then you can continue normally
Jay Rall Yeah, that never worked. I could try all I wanted but that banshee kills me in 3 shots. Eventually I got past just by running over and over until i got a run where it didn't follow. But there is no way in hell I can out-shoot a banshee. Not when it's pinpoint accurate and I die in 3 shots.

Jay Rall Well, as I said, I already made it past, it just took a lot of runs to get one where the banshee was too slow to catch me. But that fucker did not have awful accuracy, that's for sure. He even shot me out of the air while I was dropping to the canyon floor once. He's a complete dick.
There's an easier way of doing the first jump that only takes a few seconds longer; jump off the opposite side of the bridge and hold forward as much as possible, you'll land on a little slope just before you hit the ledge which softens your fall, sometimes completely. You can then move backwards to where you jump off for the second jump.
This shit took me 1 hour to complete but it's worth it definitely my favorite speedrun technic same with the keys mission I came back and did this mission and I can still do the second first try but definitely practice guys this shit looks easy but its gonna take a lot of work
There's a new glitch that saves about 50 seconds by getting the banshee by the first bridge
I suggest checking out badcyborgmovies video on it or watch garishgoblins speed run if you're interested in the glitch
The banshee grab is a much faster way to run this if anyone wants to still try it

Ooooh really:D well, I've just done that trick after 10 minutes of trying (tried to do something like that for the first time)...I investigated the whole level from above with one of those banshees, I made 2 or 3 my child dreames come true..but than the damn door was closed. I've watched your video again and again and found out that THERE ARE 2 DIFFERENT CASES OF CONNECTED ROOMS in the moment when you leave your banshee. In the first case, when the door is opened, there is a room, with 2 glass bridges and the small passage between these two rooms, also in this case the second room has blocked passage on the left side of it and a big square structure in the middle with sparks above it. In the second case, when the door is locked, the first room is just a room, WITHOUT those glass bridges in the middle, the passage in between is a typical huge doorway, but without the door, it leads to the passage with pillars on the left side of it and than to the second room with a huge 2-floored installation in the middle (there are usually a lot of enemies inside those installations), then the doorway and this locked door:)
