Skill only takes you so far in Halo.

Just to be clear, to activate the button glitch you don't keep hitting the button until it stops. You hit the button, wait for the display to stop, and then hit it again once it stops moving. I was jamming the button until it stopped moving. The verbage was a little funny in your video. I hope people weren't confused like I was!
No Truth and Rec is easier if you know enemy spawns etc. Two Betrayals relies on luck based encounters, Rocket Flood insta kill you and are hard to spot out of a crowd of flood. Compare that to the only insta kill enemies in Truth and Rec, the sword elites, who have to run at you to get you, way more reaction time. Shotgun flood can also screw up your day real bad, I only find the Flood to be a severe challenge on Two Betrayals and thats simply because of how little space you have to work with in some Flood encounters with shotgun flood and rocket flood, how much cover they can utilize, sure there were flood in the Library but the Library is such an open level that the rocket flood never spawn too close to you. Compare that to the Flood in the narrow corridor or in the tunnels. The Covenant are also harder in Two Betrayals, the final battle with the two Wraiths, Hunters and swathes of Elites, if you don't skip it like in this video, is absolute hell
bob bill Also there are parts on Two Betrayals where you have to fight without shields, and face two Wraiths on foot to steal a Banshee. There’s a lot denser groups of enemies too, and there are higher strength enemies. Truth and Reconciliation is by far the easier mission.

Yeah you see the same hallway like 7 times, and we all hated guilty spark's wicked laugh, I always liked 343 guilty spark as a charecter because he was so wise and intelligent but we all truly know that he really is a Trol-lol-alol, he eving said he was glad to see that the flood reproduced.
truth and reconciliation by far, the hardest on legendary. i think halo 1 has the hardest legendary campaign. only because they rarely give you checkpoints. i hate killing 20 elites then a grunt kills me, and then i have to fight the 20 elites again!
I remember playing the campaign on my brother's OG Xbox when I was about 8 years old. I had it on heroic because I was too scared to try legendary, and I remember that being a real challenge on certain levels. All these years later I still remember getting slaughtered in the library and on the bridges in this mission. After I bought the MCC it felt good to beat the entire game on legendary.
I found Truth and Reconciliation trickier; perhaps it was just earlier on in the list so harder to get right on Legendary without so much experience at that difficulty. But the gravity lift sequence, either side of it, is brutal. Get that wrong eg bad nading arm and you quickly get overwhelmed again and again, and for that matter the first room on board T&R is pretty tough too if you get unlucky with sword elites. got through that in about four hours overall, but TB took 56 minutes, with a bit of help from this vid, my first time through on Leg. Thank for videos though!
Been following these guides from the beginning of Halo:CE must say they are really good. I would recommend watching the whole video first. And then follow along literally like 30 seconds at a time pause the video till you catch up.
"its a remake" sounds like it got destroyed and the remade it (like the death star) thus a different place. But I'm guessing you meant it was remade as in remade for the game not in the Halo universe.
Chief can fall from space and land on the ground without dying at the start of halo 3, a small ledge with a slope on this level at start when you get outside kills him 🤣
Thanks for the nice speed runs eli! I got my time from 29 minutes to 22:50 minutes. I also skipped the first room by breaking the second window, sticking the red elite at the window and backtracking and nade jumping to avoid that room although it takes a while to pull off if enemies stare at you. After the covenant bridge I followed a strategy outlined by "SnipedaWhoOp" video where you can bypass the room if you throw a nade and get an overkill on the left. Then at the last guys throw a nade and hope for a triple kill, then sneakily throw a plasma at the two elites and run as fast and possible towards them. Keep in mind if you shoot in the flood infested room all of the flood will want to meet you.
To make levels easier you can always add the skull that gives you plasmas for meleeing (even the tiny flood). Oh and depending on the level, exploding grunts and explosions x2. They really helped me on Halo for instance.
Thank you sir! Just from playing the mission while watching this video I managed to reduce my time in the mission by around 20 minutes. Granted, this was the first speedrun attempt at the mission so my completion time until now was almost an hour just playing normally but still, I'm a little bit closer to the under 3 hours achievement. The main thing that added time for me was the 2nd generator room. I was in there trial & error for about 10 minutes, lol.
I have to deal with two Brunos and so far, it's been the most difficult and frustrating thing in the entire run. Honest to God, it's already more annoying than it was for me to get through Library.
As someone who has limited time and as I've found out is pretty rubbish at Halo these videos have been a Godsend to helping me complete parts of levels. Thanks!!
I think I might've found a despawn, either that or banshees killed them. I went to the bridge, went back to look for shotgun ammo, went back to bridge, then back, then back to bridge. I hit the checkpoint/load like 10-20 times and the second half of the flood weren't there. Try it and maybe you'll find the culprit.
this is helping me with my playthrough even though im not trying to speedrun but i can confidently say this video ended before i made it to the second generator
I don't mind insane difficulty. A learning curve can be navigated. What I hate is poor controls. That becomes fighting developer incompetence rather than fighting well developed A I. Hence, that final warthog escape level is pure trash. Trying to fight the controls whilst against the clock is neither fun nor engaging. I forgave the repetitive nature of some of the levels because it was still pretty engaging to fight through the enemy. But that warthog escape is too much to ignore.
At six minutes and 50 seconds into the video while you’re on the bridge if you clear the bridge in the other side of the bridge you can do some halo parkour to jump from one bridge to the other by jumping on the shields by the front of the first bridge closest to the wall this is easier to do in classic mode because the polygons are not as bulky And you end up skipping that entire room on the other end of the bridge
Anyone have any advice for getting the banshee at the end? My wraith on the left side doesn't fire when it sees me, it waits for me to get out of the ghost then shoots me as im boarding the banshee. I've been trying for hours just to get it right once but I cant
First time this mission took me five hours because i left my banshee on the wrong side at the second generator and it had one bar left, but i was commited lol. This time it took me about 30 minutes thanks to this video
It's worth mentioning the shotgun will tear banshees to shreds even at long range. Don't agro the banshee with the rockets. I think you can save 20-30 seconds that way.
I got so lucky at the bridge around 10 minutes, got both banshees first time and for some reason all 3 rocket flood were already dead. I also got a really easy path in that room you said is the most difficult, I had no ammo as I messed up and had no shotty ammo but very few enemies spawned and everything in the hallway afterwards was already dead, rocket flood included.
This guide is really incredible. First try on the mission on legendary and I ranked 830 out of like 60,000 people on score because I simply followed your guide. I think I died more on a casual playthrough on normal.
I discovered a weird despawn on the dual bridges at 6:00, so weird that it deloads the ability to open the next bridge going the legit way. Essentially you would hug the left side of the bridge in classic and crouch jump on the window and hop on the other bridge then hop back over to actual bridge from the opposite side. I don’t know how to load the door to open but maybe you could find a way
I did skip the flood level and tried this one instead.. Flood level is sooo much more easier, just watch some guides trust me, its very easy compared to this one
10:36 flood always get back up unless they've already been knocked down once before or they've been knocked down with either the shotgun, by being run over by a vehicle, or by anything explosive
Not exactly. You have to do enough damage to actually kill them, this is the only game where they play dead. You notice this when you hit a combat form once with an assault rifle and they fall down and "die". But actually they are playing dead and if you shoot their body, they will either get up to arrack or die for real if you do enough damage when they are on the ground.

Any idea if the despawn at the start got patched in MCC for PC? Ive tried it dozens of time with impeccable timing as per what all the guides say, and no matter what, I can't get the enemies to despawn
Keep in mind people this run is NOT possible on PC MCC unless you lock your fps to 30 frames. This is because the AI tick rate/Behaviour Cycle is tide to the FPS count, and with console being locked to 30 FPS max, and PC having 60 as Minimum without external programs to limit it enemies will: 1. Shoot twice as fast 2. notice you twice as fast 3. dodge you grenade vehicles twice as easily, 4. be twice as aggressive. When PC players say they think Halo CE:A on PC is harder, they are right because IT IS! Twice as hard in fact. I've tested this and it is very much the case.
If you go too fast over the bridge with the ghost and the second set of flood refuses to spawn and you accidentally get a checkpoint and find out the rest of the level is deloaded here is a solution. Simply go back to the bridge get out of your ghost and kill the flood that are remaining, the second set of flood should now spawn. The cut scene should show as you exit the tunnel. Good luck and watch out for rocket launchers!
Definitely 4 elites in one room on legendary as early as the Pillar of Autumn. When you’re at the bottom of the staircase and they’re on the balcony above. Also on The Silent Cartographer.
I always use the bandana skull xP (I'm on xb360) Also if you dont want respawners shoot the bodies with a shotgun. make sure it blows both arms off or it will still respawn

Awesomeman321 Yeah he has, but those 2 may be a a bit out dated. People in the Halo community always find new tricks. Nak3d Eli might know or find even easier way to do those achievements, plus we can't use the Bandanna skull (or any other good skulls anymore) on the MCC so it will be harder to do those 2 achievements now. Will do those achievements one day in the future and it's good to have a updated guide without the Bandanna skull by then
HappyLifender You can use the bandana skull for those achievements, (it worked for me) the only achievements the Bandana skull deactivates are completion, scoring and time achievements.
Awesomeman321 Yeah, Bandana skull was an exclusive pre-order bonus to one retailer, only people in the US could get it. A lot of people don't have it, and can't get it now. No one else than those people who pre-ordered from that retailer in US have it. I think everyone who pre-ordered MCC from GameStop got that skull, might be wrong.
FYI that glitch in the beginning will prevent you from playing the game. I am doing the glitch but the DeShawn prevents the pulse generator from being active (even after respawn of the enemies)
You have to hit the load zones after the enemies spawn in, he does this from 2:30 to 2:37 in the video. If you just fly towards the shield relay thing you miss them and that's why you can't progress.
Somehow I missed the loading at 17:10 even though I had rockets getting shot at me. Then I forgot the part at 17:50 where you said you need to see final run. I drove past all that without any enemies til I got to where the banshees are supposed to be. I hit a checkpoint at the rock “ramp” that leads to that spot so now I’ve been stuck reloading the check point from there, going back to the bridge, hoping rockets don’t hit me, and failing to get in the banshee fast enough. I’m never playing Halo CE campaign when I finish all levels on legendary
Holy shit I had all the Halos on 360 completed on Legendary. I finally broke down and decided to do it on X Box One. This level took me two hours to finish. Par of 20 minutes is insane. I didn't do the respawn and played the level as intended btw taking out all the enemies because it's fun, but still. I always wondered how to finish this level under par.

That load zone over the bridge has fucked me so many times, last run it even loaded the Final Run thing and the first set of enemies, but literally nothing else
can confirm that the despawn has not been patched it took me a few restarts but make sure if you do it the first time and nothing happens then just do it one more time with the same timing glhf
first the banshee and ghost kiss, then the ghost goes "in" the entrance, then some time passes on the bridge, then all those infection forms spawn....... yes kiss is a good explanation lol
what happens when u make it all the way to the end, with the ghost, hit the cutscene after the bridge going slowly over it and get to the banshees and they aren't there?
This level used to drive me mad, especially when the rocket flood managed to hit me every single time.

So to sum up your speedruns: "Basically all I'm saying is kill stuff."
I got so lucky at the bridge around 10 minutes, got both banshees first time and for some reason all 3 rocket flood were already dead. I also got a really easy path in that room you said is the most difficult, I had no ammo as I messed up and had no shotty ammo but very few enemies spawned and everything in the hallway afterwards was already dead, rocket flood included.
So you're basically saying you need the power of true love in order to cheese the interior cave section

This guide is really incredible. First try on the mission on legendary and I ranked 830 out of like 60,000 people on score because I simply followed your guide. I think I died more on a casual playthrough on normal.
I discovered a weird despawn on the dual bridges at 6:00, so weird that it deloads the ability to open the next bridge going the legit way. Essentially you would hug the left side of the bridge in classic and crouch jump on the window and hop on the other bridge then hop back over to actual bridge from the opposite side. I don’t know how to load the door to open but maybe you could find a way
That last part literally just took me an hour. The mission took me two.. its four in the morning...
i guess now i know how to do it right

I did skip the flood level and tried this one instead.. Flood level is sooo much more easier, just watch some guides trust me, its very easy compared to this one

Not exactly. You have to do enough damage to actually kill them, this is the only game where they play dead. You notice this when you hit a combat form once with an assault rifle and they fall down and "die". But actually they are playing dead and if you shoot their body, they will either get up to arrack or die for real if you do enough damage when they are on the ground.

Any idea if the despawn at the start got patched in MCC for PC? Ive tried it dozens of time with impeccable timing as per what all the guides say, and no matter what, I can't get the enemies to despawn
We can jump over the twin bridge, by crouch jumping on the side glasses and get on the other bridge. ;)
Keep in mind people this run is NOT possible on PC MCC unless you lock your fps to 30 frames.
This is because the AI tick rate/Behaviour Cycle is tide to the FPS count, and with console being locked to 30 FPS max, and PC having 60 as Minimum without external programs to limit it enemies will:
1. Shoot twice as fast
2. notice you twice as fast
3. dodge you grenade vehicles twice as easily,
4. be twice as aggressive.
When PC players say they think Halo CE:A on PC is harder, they are right because IT IS! Twice as hard in fact.
I've tested this and it is very much the case.
Eli: 19 1/2 minutes
Par time: 20 minutes

You can do it on easy
If you go too fast over the bridge with the ghost and the second set of flood refuses to spawn and you accidentally get a checkpoint and find out the rest of the level is deloaded here is a solution. Simply go back to the bridge get out of your ghost and kill the flood that are remaining, the second set of flood should now spawn. The cut scene should show as you exit the tunnel. Good luck and watch out for rocket launchers!
why is this level so long
Definitely 4 elites in one room on legendary as early as the Pillar of Autumn. When you’re at the bottom of the staircase and they’re on the balcony above. Also on The Silent Cartographer.

Also if you dont want respawners shoot the bodies with a shotgun. make sure it blows both arms off or it will still respawn
Will you make a guide for beating this mission without picking up a new weapon and the zero kills on grunts legendary achievements? Bandanna voids achievenents
If Eli could speed run both of the Achievements safe but still fast I would be really happy.
RCMaster has great guides / speedruns of those achievements and some others too
Awesomeman321 Yeah he has, but those 2 may be a a bit out dated. People in the Halo community always find new tricks. Nak3d Eli might know or find even easier way to do those achievements, plus we can't use the Bandanna skull (or any other good skulls anymore) on the MCC so it will be harder to do those 2 achievements now. Will do those achievements one day in the future and it's good to have a updated guide without the Bandanna skull by then
HappyLifender You can use the bandana skull for those achievements, (it worked for me) the only achievements the Bandana skull deactivates are completion, scoring and time achievements.
Awesomeman321 Yeah, Bandana skull was an exclusive pre-order bonus to one retailer, only people in the US could get it. A lot of people don't have it, and can't get it now.
No one else than those people who pre-ordered from that retailer in US have it.
I think everyone who pre-ordered MCC from GameStop got that skull, might be wrong.
At around 6:40 you can jump to the other bride skip it and jump back and it desponds the next room

FYI that glitch in the beginning will prevent you from playing the game. I am doing the glitch but the DeShawn prevents the pulse generator from being active (even after respawn of the enemies)
You have to hit the load zones after the enemies spawn in, he does this from 2:30 to 2:37 in the video. If you just fly towards the shield relay thing you miss them and that's why you can't progress.

Somehow I missed the loading at 17:10 even though I had rockets getting shot at me. Then I forgot the part at 17:50 where you said you need to see final run. I drove past all that without any enemies til I got to where the banshees are supposed to be. I hit a checkpoint at the rock “ramp” that leads to that spot so now I’ve been stuck reloading the check point from there, going back to the bridge, hoping rockets don’t hit me, and failing to get in the banshee fast enough. I’m never playing Halo CE campaign when I finish all levels on legendary
Update: I finally completed it the very next attempt after writing my original comment.
Holy shit I had all the Halos on 360 completed on Legendary. I finally broke down and decided to do it on X Box One. This level took me two hours to finish. Par of 20 minutes is insane. I didn't do the respawn and played the level as intended btw taking out all the enemies because it's fun, but still. I always wondered how to finish this level under par.

I noticed that on the MCC version of HCEA, that there's no snowflakes blocking your view. Makes it a lot easier imo

That load zone over the bridge has fucked me so many times, last run it even loaded the Final Run thing and the first set of enemies, but literally nothing else
can confirm that the despawn has not been patched it took me a few restarts but make sure if you do it the first time and nothing happens then just do it one more time with the same timing glhf

first the banshee and ghost kiss, then the ghost goes "in" the entrance, then some time passes on the bridge, then all those infection forms spawn....... yes kiss is a good explanation lol
