If you think about it, Subject 1138, aka Starkiller, was Galen Marik reborn in the body of his imperfect clone. In a way, the Force granted him a second chance that normally it wouldn't give anyone else.
I’m not sure but Starkiller couldn’t have been a clone in the second game but the real Galen Marek that some how just got he’s memory erased and then he was manipulated into thinking he was a clone from the start of the second game
I remember that too! I think in the 2nd game he was the original Starkiller bc his body was still present in the first one. If we follow the alternate option to the ending of the 2nd game; we learn Vader did NOT perfect the clone he wanted, nor did it exist. Which implies that the Starkiller we play as is the original. The real clone of Starkiller is the evil one that had no emotions or feelings. Vader most likely kept the original Galen alive, in case his clones were unsuccessful making him think he’s a clone. His last memories were “dying” so of course waking up from a coma like state you’d believe yeah I died so I must be a clone. BUT HOW DOES HE HAVE HIS ORIGINAL COUNTERPARTS MEMORIES
It’s pretty much confirmed that he was a clone. The dark clone that kills starkiller in the dark ending has a moment with Vader in an unlockable memory or something where they’re looking at the mangled corpse of the original Galen. The Dark clone also has Galen’s memories but he feels disgust for them, pure hatred. That’s what I remember anyway it’s been over a decade. But he definitely was a clone and Galen is dead
@@millasboo I played both, and I came to this conclusion: Force Unleashed 1: Better story, better characters, ruthless (+Narrative) Force Unleashed 2: Better graphics, better gameplay controls (+Gameplay/user friendliness)
Starkiller has to be my favorite Star Wars character. He’s just such a great concept that was played absolutely perfect by Sam Witwer. What I would give for the 3rd game…
I stand by what I said in a theory video on a potential Force Unleashed 3. I think it would have been shocking and fun to have Starkiller face Galen Marek as the final boss, but Galen is now the Sith Stalker seen in the Dark Side Ending of the first game. He died at the end of the first game's Light Side Ending, but "Sith Magic," archaic technology, zombification, or whatever allowed his corpse to become the Sith Stalker. Starkiller's goal would then be to "free" the original from his unholy and unnatural shackles to the physical world. It is also shown in the extra scenes that The Dark Apprentice clone of Galen Marek still exists, so Starkiller would likely have to face more variations as bosses until he fights the original.
People as powerful as the emperor there are rare to see more than a few in an age true prodigies of the force potentially one of these could have been the chosen one Anakin Skywalker is wholly unnatural something the force created out of spite
The original Galen Marek was so one with the force while alive is impressive, as a jedi fully reaching the limits he faced great stuff, and also facing paplatines might I had the idea that he was holding his own, yet I learned he has embraced the force. Still I feel that like the game continuity it equals the character development shown in the game and onwards Kota was talking about he think that Galen Marek and Starkiller are one in the same. In this video It's talking about the original and clone as the body, and the feelings You can look at Juno's reaction based on her actions with both.
Man I really wish Starkiller was part of the true cannon lore. I'd love to see him in a movie or TV series. I never was big into star wars as a kid, but the unleashed games were some of my all time favorites. I had absolutely no idea that there were novels of it. If there are any that I should know about, anybody please let me know! I need some good reading material for the upcoming winter lol.
Yup, the Force and cloning don't mix so the fact that Starkiller even survived incubation proves something metaphysical was going on (possibly at the behest to the Will Of The Living Force). Something similar happened when Darth Plagueis and Darth Sidious tried to play with life and The Force.....(and the result of that was Anakin Skywalker).
Loving these videos on TFU! I’m fully onboard with Kota, at least narratively, that Starkiller is Galen Marek resurrected in a clone body either by the Force itself or perhaps Vader and/or Palpatine experimenting with essence transfer (foreshadowing for Dark Empire)? It would give more closure and connection to the second game and the hypothetical sequel. Also, glad you discussed how while Vader’s insane training and raising of him pushed his limits, Galen’s arc of finding the Light, his true past and love was what truly allowed him to fulfill his potential through selflessness and oneness with the Force. Great point on the “clone” also continuing this arc to an extent. Also, IMO the Dark Apprentice form the Dark Side ending and the extra material all can be chalked up to non-canon/infinites. It’s interesting to note how canonically, Boba Fett was Vader’s contingency with a sniper at that moment and canonically he backed down as Starkiller spared Vader before tracking them down later. In the Dark Side ending, the Apprentice comes out of nowhere, and storm is still raging instead of calming, and Boba is nowhere in sight. Vader also recovers quickly and Juno is actually dead. Not to mention, it’s less plausible that Vader can train both at the same time to surpass the original so quickly.
I actually think that they are both the same. Galen and Starkiller. Galen awakened in a new body. As he had insane amounts of potential, and that his spirit endured, from the first novel he watched the events after his own death. So we know his spirit endured. It is not outside of the realm of possibility that Galen's spirit could have inhabited the clone in a sort of quasi essence transfer.
This is very impressive. Galen is equally powerful as Starkiller. He's not a clone. He's the same man. I'm glad Force loved him and respected him so much. May the Force be with you too
I didn't have a problem with the first Starkiller being cracked since he's the son of two jedi and as it was shown by Plaguei's the offspring from 2 force sensitive individuals do tend to be really fucking strong, however that clone was a different beast i don't know what fuck them kaminoans gave my man.
I think they wrote Galen and Starkiller as kind of a "what if?" love story for Anakin. What sort of things could Anakin had achieved, light or dark, if he'd had his full potential available.

Could it be possible that Galen unknowingly performed Essence Transfer? I know that the clone came in long after he died, but stranger things have happened in the mythos before.
I always felt that because Galen achieved peace with the force, he was able to influence his clones in just such a way to give them the right push. That's why so many went mad, they couldn't figure out what these feelings meant leading to an identity crisis. So our Starkiller Clone accepted those feelings and essentially became Galen's reincarnation that even Kota believed. While the Dark Ending Clone rejected those feelings and became the apprentice Vader always wanted.
I'm not much into comics, but I am a gamer and played both games, and I agree that he's the same person reborn. Considering the Force, it's not hard to believe the Force brought him back.
Great video as always. You should make a video including all versions of Starkiller, including the Dark Side Clone from TFU2 and Lord Starkiller from TFU1 Sith Edition. I always wondered how all of them compare.
So, my head cannon was always that the reason that the Star Killer Clone worked was because it was the one that survived possession. A bit of a story for the spirituality of the universe, but that the force was a link with the spiritual in a way, hence force ghosts. This is why Force Sensitive clones don't really work most of the time, because the souls of the person who was being cloned will fall back into the body. This is why many of the other clones went insane (literally having memories implanted, while the real memories come in from the force as well, two people in one body, which fractures the mind) it also explains why clones for Vitiate and Sidius were basically impossible, as their souls would force the bodies to age and degenerate matching their spirits reflection of their bodies in reality, which would cause incredible medical complications. Basically, the power of the soul was forcing the body to become what the body was for the soul prior to the possession. Also, if this is happening because the cloned body is actually, quite literally the original body just having been cloned, this also explains why the possession of the bodies of others was necessary for vitiate to continue to switch out, as the foreign body wouldn't be as susceptible to the templating as his own body only having been cloned. In this, the cloned Star killer, is literally just Galen Marek, and he finally was able to merge, with the age of his spirit and the age of his body actually being relatively similar, it would also assist with the ability to bond, though the cloned body would likely still biologically deteriorate a bit more rapidly, though templating could change that too, and truly change him to be a proper reincarnation, as opposed to being a clone. Similarly, I think that this is a major part of why Star Killer is so strong, as Galen having achieved Oneness with the Force, as Sidius said at the end of the first game, "now he's become stronger than we can even imagine" the new Star Killer showing just how much more powerful his potential could reach.
I remember playing both the games on the wii version first and both on the wii were beyond amazing. I couldn't understand how it failed. Later I played the xbox 360 versions and I suddenly understood how it failed.
I was never sure if he was a clone or not to be honest, and I think there are many reasons to believe he was not. One of them is obviously that we know Vader to be a backstabbing liar from the first game. But even though this conversation could go very long and far, there is one very small detail from the first game I recently came up on: after he was "killed" by Vader, got recovered and healed, Galen was addressed as Subject 1138 by an imperial officer on the Empirical. The clone is also supposed to be Subject 1138, and while this is a very minor detail, and the number 1138 has it's own origin in the works of Lucas, with all kinds of other evidences pointing at him potentially being the same person, I'm still to this day not convinced that he was a clone at all. Imagine if you find out he's all but unconscious and barely alive after transpoting his body out of the emperor's chamber, and he also potentially doesn't have memories of who he is, or who he was (which I assume could easily be discovered by any kind of scans on his brain). Keeping Galen in an unconscious state in a cloning facility, or even specifically in an incubation tank with any kind of liquid would be all too easy to sell the deciption. And from then on he got training once again, another lightsaber, and was filled with this conflict by Vader, about his identity, and that what he sees to be his past memories are nothing but fabrications and he should actively fight against them. Which if you think about it for a second would be an excellent source of power for a sith to use. Either that, or the force decided he has to be reincarnated for some reason.
Because he had direct training from Vader himself and whether Starkiller or Galen Merek he had the same force natural connection to Sidious unlike Vader who lost his higher then Sidious potential after his loss on Mustafar to Obi Wan yeah.
I still say the scene on Dagobah should've played out this way: Starkiller: *Shows up on Dagobah. Jumps out of cockpit and ignites lightsabers. Looks down, sees Yoda. Yoda: Turns head around, looks Starkiller up and down, ONCE. Starkiller: "NOPE." Jumps back in starship to book it off the planet as fast as humanly possible. 😂
We know the force can interfere to make corrections - what a better correction that the force using the clones to fix what vader was trying to tamper with.
when it comes to Galen vs star killer , i just honestly think if they hadn’t killed off Galen then he would be EXACTLY the same power level as “star killer” so if this makes sense to anyone , I really don’t think one is stronger or weaker than the other. Feel like star killer is basically just a continuation of galen. on something like being reincarnated basically .
I would like to think that the fact a clone of galen marek was able to be brought to life was the will of the force. The force hated that vader wanted to create a second galen marek that are used for the dark side so the force purposefully brought one to life to put an end to vader's cloning attempt. In the game before we fight vader we fight galen failed clones first so i take that as the force wanting to destroy most of galen clones in one fell swoop and in the light side ending it is shown that vader was captured and i assume the cloning facility is either destroyed or stopped and the entire planet was put in high alert so that the rebels will find out if the cloning start again. And now with an even more juiced up galen was in the light side he will be able to kill the emperor and like the original galen marek the clone will sacrifice it self but this time taking the emperor with him, that way the force are actually in the balance again since now 2 of the most powerfull force user from the light and dark are dead. If vader were able to break free from the rebellion and pose a threat to the galaxy, his son luke would the one that balance the force.
I heard you mention this in a video a while back. I never thought the clone was stronger. I thought he was a near perfect clone but still a “disappointment” according to Vader. The clone isn’t stronger, he’s just less focused and controlled. Which, is saying something considering he’s already “unleashed.” It highlighted the flaws in flash training. It’s him in every regard except the clone was more unstable. I know he was supposed to be the successful one but that doesn’t mean he actually was. Admittedly, the star wars insider info puts a crinkle in my points but everything we see in the games supports what I said.
I thought it was up in the air on my first two playthroughs, and it's probably meant to be somewhat ambiguous. But after a while it made more sense the 2nd Starkiller was a clone. Firstly I doubt Vader or Sidious would have trusted Galen to give him another chance at taking them and the empire down. And secondly it didn't do Vader any good to tell Starkiller he was a clone of a failure who turned against the empire unless he was just being to proud to lie
@Jgrabetz Ya, but I took it as a possibility that Vader trying to convince him that he was a clone was just another method of trying to control him. Personally, I don't want the true answer one way or the other. It's more fun that way. Also leads to the question of if he's a clone, does it really matter? Intriguing.
I think it would be interesting if the original was so strong with the force he managed to cling his life force to the clone which could be why the clone was stronger because hes essentially two in one.
I thought it was pretty clear from the game, Starkiller was Galen reincarnated as a living avatar of the force. Think of The Force as The Green. Galen is Swamp Thing.
@@YayoHernandez-b1jI'm not sure how I feel about that. There's some Force feeds that Galen married did that I don't think Anakin can like pulling down Star destroyer.
@ like you said if he reached his full potential if he reached his truthful potential as the chosen one, he would’ve done a whole lot better than those two ever did
I think lucasfilm needs to focus on Star Wars legends, and each season can focus on a different story like force unleashed, and darth Bane. Id binge the hell out of those
Perhaps the force as a whole is a pathway to many abilities and circumstances some consider to be unnatural. The dark side on its own is small in scale
Man I will say I think the characters of Galen and is clone are really fascinating why I do think the clone is stronger I still think it’s a very close comparison because Galen himself is still a very impressive force user it’s just the clone was meant to be stronger at that’s what it truly comes down to and the clone also having a sith education also helps the clone get a leg up in this comparison but that’s what I think
The only one who could say if Starkiller was a clone or not... is less trustworthy than a used car salesperson. The writers deliberately obfuscated it, probably intended to reveal it in the third game.
All ima say is galen died so starkiller could thrive...one thing i definitely noticed is no matter how much programming u put in a clone the purpose of the original always shines through and the influences of the ppl they are around determin there evolution, look at how anakin and obi wans troups carried themselves compared to the other generals troups
I'd like to see Starkiller again, but not under Disney's control or we'll find out their is an even more powerful female Galen Marek Clone called Starlover.
Maybe Galen died and reincarnated into a clone body or bodies. So powerful in the force that he maintained his identity and found a suitable host to reincarnate into. Also the star killer dark side ending of unleashed 2 was the dark side of the force identity of the former Galen. Could be interesting.
So Collectively his franchise AND Fandom are all in agreement here that Starkiller IS a Clone... Until or UNLESS we hear differently... BUT do we consider him a Clone IF he assumes the identity of Galen fully??? An call him that.. o just call him Galen since FU2 hinted that he DOES get memories of that sorta past existence/Life .. an I wonder if it's any way similar to Late Dune verses "Gholas (Cloning)" which after sufficient experience an training is LITERALLY Reincarnation.. an if Starkiller would More an MORE become "Galen" until Galen basically comes back an is basically cheated Death that way..?? Fans of both Franchises understand what I'm talking bout an going with this question.
maybe the force had something to do with it all and was apolled of what vader was trying to create using someone that managed to acchive whats almost impossible? we do know that the force can make realy strange things happend as a countermeasure aigenst specific things like the experiments plaugis was doing where the force ended up making aniken.
It would be very interesting to see starkiller on the big screen in the movie Theaters 🎥 they need to make a starkiller movie that's what am looking forward to as a star wars fan.
After all these years there is still on thing I do not understand. How is it that Starkiller was force sensitive in the first place? I thought clones couldn’t be connected to mediclorians. Wasn’t that Palpatins plan over nearly two centuries??
The force unleashed is considered non-cannon sadly. I think I speak for many people when I say we can only wish it was but there are a lot of points in the game that would/could break cannon.
Fucking sucks that Luke never built his full academy in canon, (beyond the failed attempt) as much as I would miss Kyle Katarn and Mara jade But if he had Star Killer Cal Kestis Ezra and possibly even Ashoka on his roster I dont care HOW gifted Ben is, He ISNT killing that academy

Kal: oh shi
Because he had direct training from Vader himself and whether Starkiller or Galen Merek he had the same force natural connection to Sidious unlike Vader who lost his higher then Sidious potential after his loss on Mustafar to Obi Wan yeah.
I still say the scene on Dagobah should've played out this way:
Starkiller: *Shows up on Dagobah. Jumps out of cockpit and ignites lightsabers. Looks down, sees Yoda.
Yoda: Turns head around, looks Starkiller up and down, ONCE.
Starkiller: "NOPE." Jumps back in starship to book it off the planet as fast as humanly possible. 😂
he may be a come but in the force he is the same man
Fun facts - Starkiller is still part of legends and Luke was gonna be named Luke Starkiller 😂
We know the force can interfere to make corrections - what a better correction that the force using the clones to fix what vader was trying to tamper with.
NNNNNNOOOOOOO
Awesomeness
Palpatine testing essence transfer?
when it comes to Galen vs star killer , i just honestly think if they hadn’t killed off Galen then he would be EXACTLY the same power level as “star killer” so if this makes sense to anyone , I really don’t think one is stronger or weaker than the other.
Darth Jar , Jar Binx has cloned an army of star killers ! 🌌 once more the Sith will rule the galaxy
With the force... nothing is impossible.
Isn't it still ambiguous if Starkiller was a clone or the original?
Intriguing.
Na it was clear he was a clone
@@everettjohnson9374 It really wasn't
I think it would be interesting if the original was so strong with the force he managed to cling his life force to the clone which could be why the clone was stronger because hes essentially two in one.
I thought it was pretty clear from the game, Starkiller was Galen reincarnated as a living avatar of the force. Think of The Force as The Green. Galen is Swamp Thing.
I bet anakin Skywalker at his full potential as the chosen one would be able to defeat and even kill both of them
Oh, no question about that. Vader just can't be as strong as full potential Anakin.
@ not Vader full potential Anakin Skywalker
Give us a live action The Force Unleashed!!
Nah Disney will ruin the character
Can you do a analysis of General Grievous Personal lightsaber style Both Legends and Canon?
Also, when can we see star killer again in Star Wars canon or a new game come on people
Man I will say I think the characters of Galen and is clone are really fascinating why I do think the clone is stronger I still think it’s a very close comparison because Galen himself is still a very impressive force user it’s just the clone was meant to be stronger at that’s what it truly comes down to and the clone also having a sith education also helps the clone get a leg up in this comparison but that’s what I think
He needs his own show and a 3RD game
The only one who could say if Starkiller was a clone or not... is less trustworthy than a used car salesperson. The writers deliberately obfuscated it, probably intended to reveal it in the third game.
Ah! Clone 1138 - must be inspired by THX-1138
All ima say is galen died so starkiller could thrive...one thing i definitely noticed is no matter how much programming u put in a clone the purpose of the original always shines through and the influences of the ppl they are around determin there evolution, look at how anakin and obi wans troups carried themselves compared to the other generals troups
THX 1138
#starkiller miniseries!
Top 5 🎉
Luke Skywalker and Galen Merrick we're supposed to be rivals
It would be very interesting to see starkiller on the big screen in the movie Theaters 🎥 they need to make a starkiller movie that's what am looking forward to as a star wars fan.
You want Disney to ruin him
The Beatles forever ♾️
On a side note what if the cloning was really a fail and galen marek was wiped ofhis memories but actually lived after the sidious encounter
After all these years there is still on thing I do not understand. How is it that Starkiller was force sensitive in the first place? I thought clones couldn’t be connected to mediclorians. Wasn’t that Palpatins plan over nearly two centuries??
I wonder if Vader put some of his own blood into the mix with galens
So is it safe to say he is the most powerful force user to ever exist? Or is that reserved for Vitiate or whatever? Is full potential Anakin stronger?
Full Potential Anakin (not that he ever reached it), then Luke.
Exar kun vitiate vaylin anakin solo luke were far more powerful than galen marak
I wonder if the original achieving Oneness empowered the second.
Is this game Canon? If so, how does this happen yet the Emperor couldn't make a good force sensitive clone? Something doesn't add up.
The force unleashed is considered non-cannon sadly. I think I speak for many people when I say we can only wish it was but there are a lot of points in the game that would/could break cannon.
I dont believe Starkiller was a clone at all, he is just tricked to think he is.
Fucking sucks that Luke never built his full academy in canon, (beyond the failed attempt) as much as I would miss Kyle Katarn and Mara jade
But if he had Star Killer Cal Kestis Ezra and possibly even Ashoka on his roster I dont care HOW gifted Ben is, He ISNT killing that academy
NONSENSE!!
Children with two Jedi parents are always off the charts..
The greatest example of this is Ben Skywalker.
SOn of MaraJade & Luke.
Starkiller always felt too powerful to me, he's doing things that the chosen one or his son can't even do.
George lucas is obsessed with the number 1138 ever since his 1st movie 1138. It has appeared twice in star wars.
I thought no one could create a clone with force capabilities
now boba fet and jango fet please
Fear Yoda, you must.
Is Stupendous and Theory still going to stream together?
Yes! Tomorrow!
This is great news! I will see yall there >:)@@TheStupendousWave
Did I miss it?
