My thoughts? Galen is my favorite character in Star Wars. Although I want him canonical, I also think the character dodged a TON of bullets with how recent Star Wars shows went. Its not impossible to implement him still, but it does make things harder now.
Hell, half the reason why I want him canon is so he and Ashoka can somehow interact. You know, Padawan of Anakin meets Apprentice of Vader.

Ur wrong about rey. She is bad because she has no character growth, really no character at all. Her struggle doesn't feel relatable. She gets power with out effort. She's just some girl who struggles with finding out who she is, but never actually finds it. But copes, and decides to inherent the name skywalker. So she can become a symbol. But she doesn't understand the name and the struggles of the skywalker line.

Great video but Galen’s mother was killed by Trandoshians while she was defending Wookies. Also children of two Force users seem to have insane potential look at Ben Skywalker the son of Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade for example; the boy was able to grow as powerful as a Jedi Knight in one year of training while still a teenager and even Darth Caedus (as arrogant as he was) believed Ben could eventually surpass him despite Caedus’s massive head start.

Here is a side note though, not all force sensitive parents will produce a force sensitive offspring. There have actually been quite a few examples in both legends and Canon of 2 force sensitive parents conceiving children together and yielding non-force sensitive offspring. It's actually a fairly rare occurrence in the Star Wars universe for such events to happen. The force seems to choose the individual, not genetics. Though, if it does choose an individual to have heightened sensitivity from 2 force sensitive parents, Ben Skywalker and starkiller are the results lol.

Great video! Galen Marek is one of my favorite characters in SW, and one I’ll always defend. His story is a tragic one, a child abused to squeeze every ounce of potential, but ultimately what you guys didn’t really cover is that his story ends with redemption, and only then did he completely fulfill that said potential.
This was a boy, a son of two Jedi Masters, taken in by Vader and trained his whole life to be a living weapon for the main purpose of killing the Emperor. He had no other life, his best friend was a training droid programmed to try and kill him regularly. Even after his tests killing Jedi, Vader deemed him a failure. It was only when he finally learned about the Light through Kota, his true past and father with Kento, and found love with Juno, that he found redemption and the power to rival and surpass Vader, approaching Sidious. He died in a selfless sacrificial Force clash with Sidious, while Yoda for example survived the same type of tutaminis-lightning clash and stayed conscious before falling in the Senate chamber.
Vader on the other hand, deep down took him in as a replacement for the child(ren) he thought he lost for the purpose of vengeance and power. He was creating a dark version of Luke for all intents and purposes, and succeeded in maximizing his potential when he as Anakin didn’t even reach half of his potential according to George Lucas and supported in both Canon and EU/Legends material. Meanwhile, Luke at his prime was far beyond Yoda and Sidious (2x as powerful according to Lucas), and had his own great feats. He had students who did similar great feats at the cost of their lives like Dorsk 81 and Ganner Rhysode. What Galen did was similar to those students and while his power is still near the top from his era, the top of other eras (Vitiate, Revan and the Outlander in The Old Republic, Palpatine in Dark Empire, Luke and Krayt in the Legacy era) still eclipse him. But in terms of character, he deserves far more than what people give him credit for.
Overall, it’s that horrific upbringing and training by Vader that pushed him close to his full potential, but it was the Light through the people he loved and redemption that really brought him to the finish line.

Galen is one of the multiple individuals I refer to as “force anomalies”. You have Jedi/Sith who are anywhere between talented or being an out right prodigy. Prodigy Jedi Sith that come to mind are Windu, Dooku, Ulic Qel Droma(old republic ), Exar Kun and etc. Force Anomalies are the individuals that are what can be called freakishly talented. Examples: Yoda ,Sidious, Nomi Sun Rider,Windu’s brother, Revan, Galen, and Kyp Durron.
Kyp btw is one of the many Jedi masters of Luke’s new order whose potential was so insane it shocked Luke and he even admitted his potential matches that of Yoda. And this was while he was still brand new and in trading and NEITHER of his parents were force sensitive. A Galen movie would run circles around anything Disney has been producing I think the only reason they stopped with him is because Vader plays such an important role in Galen’s life and the obstacles to overcome….of you brought if Galen eventually Vader would have to die or something because Galen is too powerful and Vader would die eventually. If he took the light path went into hiding and trained he would come back a monster…if he beat Vader and took the dark side Sidious would take him as an apprentice which will conflict with Luke’s story.

Galen fights Vader, loses to force shenanigans, goes into hiding training as a Jedi. Luke happens, Rey happens, Luke dies, Galen steps out of hiding to restore the Jedi order, convinces Rey to join him.
Emperor Vitiates descendants come for the republic, Galen, Rey and the new order defend the republic, discover the yuzan vhong outside the galactic rim. Rey and Galen travel to the rim to gather Intel, but the vhong launch a surprise attack against the core worlds using unknown tech, and destroy the capital world.
Republic spies tell of a "Star eating machine" that Galen and Rey head out to destroy, they fight some yuzan vhong, maybe kill an ancient Rakata or two and bing bang boom, a halfway decent story.
You can replace Vitiates descendants with practically anything, I just thought bring him into canon would be fun 😂

22:39 "and he had no windows." Did his intense focus of using the crystal to see thru the dark side mean he was too intently hooked to the now to see the future? Is this his way to be laser focused verses the rest of his animal existance? I think you said he could be surprised? Being too focused can make someone easy to sneak up on.
Was staring into a crystal his form of meditation, basically a refraction chamber? Multiple images on flat surfaces that held him contained verses sensing the wider Force?

  • @GGBlaster
    @GGBlaster หลายเดือนก่อน +6

Starkiller, at a first glance, can seem overpowered (and in a sense, he is). But because of the way he was raised and trained, he lacks the patience of the Jedi, or the cunning of a Sith. He is an animal, a wild animal. He struggles with finesse and subtlety, and by extension Force powers that require finesse and subtlety. He can pull a Star Destroyer to the ground, but he struggles to assemble a lightsaber telekinetically. He can disintegrate his foes in an instant, but lacks the self control to draw out a person’s pain the way Sidious did with Luke.
He is the spirit of a rancor, in the body of a man, with the powers of a god.

Power always come at a cost, it makes you a target, it makes you a valued object, it alienates, and it cuts off normal patterns of growth, like how too much money and fame at too young an age is bad for people. Galen is the only one that can absorb Sidious force lightning in fact he went toe to toe with Sidious on force lightning duels. Even as a baby when Darth Vader raided the land, he sense such powerful force, that even vader felt insecure about the force, when he saw that its a baby that's harboring all this force energy, Darth Vader was shocked 😳😳😳

@OublietteTight Starkiller of course. His style of combat is unconventional and unpredictable. It's one of the reasons he scared Palpatine as much as he did. Like many Sith, Palpatine had his own set fighting style even though he hated using lightsabers, but Starkiller didn't have a set style of fighting with lightsabers, so he resorted to whatever he could to win. In TFU, since we play as Starkiller, it's easy to see since though he loses his life after defeating Palpatine, the look on Palpatine's face when looking at his corpse before looking at Vader says it all.

  • @easyread-real

At the end of the campaign for the first game, if you choose to kill Darth Vader, the Emperor will do his typical machine slave thing. But what stood out to me about some of the final lines spoken in the game is by Palpatine.
"You had such promise. You could have been my successor. My equal. But now... (Looks away.) But I may have some small use for you. I still have enemies to find and destroy. You will do my bidding until I find a new apprentice. And then, like Vader, you will be cast aside. (Points toward Starkiller and the droids.) Finish him."
The fact that the strongest Sith we've seen since Tenebrae (also known as the Immortal Sith Emperor Vitiate and Valkorian.) openly admits to this should speak volumes about what Galen Marak could've been. However, as always, one's potential is only known after the fact or passage of time. It's a measure of what could've been, never what will be.

I always thought he was just born as a force prodigy tbh, somewhat like Palpatine in a way. I actually have my own character that explores this concept since he is a prodigy with the dark side of the force, but not nearly as proficient with force lightning or anything else directly offensive, since he specializes more in force speed and I guess shatterpoint.

I think the real reasons why Starkiller was so powerful was combination of his Jedi heritage, Darth Vader’s training and perhaps the truest reason it was the Force’s plan “D” for balance. Traya was did small piece of points about the Force it does act like a “god” but one that lets mortals play their roles too in it designs as the one it wants them play.

I see Darth Vader’s training of Starkiller to be an extreme version of the training he thinks he should have received as a Jedi. Not as brutal obviously, but he always claimed the Jedi, specifically Obi-Wan was always holding him back, never letting him reach his full potential. And when he finally learns of a way to do that, by embracing the dark side and so the Force in its entirety, Obi-Wan puts a stop to him reaching his full potential again.
He views Starkiller not only as the son he lost when Padme died, but the person he himself should have become: a being of pure unmatched power, because that is all he has ever truly desired, to be the most powerful Jedi ever.
I would place full potential Galen Marek to be at least on par with A tier Jedi Council members, not quite S tier like Luke Skywalker. So probably at or around the same level as somebody like Mace Windu.

Now I know there are certain characters that had been born with a natural ability as such but in the case of star killer how exactly would Vader had accomplished that during his training of Galen Merrick. Also I remember Vader was capable of producing lightening and had on certain situations, but with out frying his suit I can’t see Vader doing this. Thanks in advance to any replies!! 😎👍

Honestly Starkiller is so op that he would have most likely eliminated Obi-Wan should they ever have been encountered. Same for Cal, he could have stood blade for blade but again I doubt he'd win, maybe survive at best.
We will never know but Starkiller would have given any Jedi Master pause and perhaps strike fear at the sheer power he would demonstrate head on or easily manipulate the force around him. Shame we can't ever see him live action...

I would think it's how he fights and uses the force. Not so much the power put into it. He's a very..... unconventional force user. Wild, maybe. The same could be said about his actual lightsaber fighting style. The two combined is a recipe for an uncontrolled powerhouse in combat. He was taught to always do the max possible when using the force. Roll this all together, and you get a super powered monster.

  • @yusukeimanaya6885
    @yusukeimanaya6885 หลายเดือนก่อน

I think Galen had maxed out his potential in all forms of combat exapt that he lacks the „soft touch“ of the force, the basic as you will. But in his limited personality and the lack of genuine interest in the wisdom of the force I feel like Galen is like a piece of glass that got shedded, trying to fix itself to get his full potential. But due to Vaders cruel kind of training and secrecy Galen had never time to be himself, missing a few shards of the glass as you will, and this was on porpoise from Vader for the exact reason. If Galen had time to interact with people and develop things like morals ambition and Empathie he could surely break the only weaknesses the force and touch way more delicate into it. Teaching from other skilled combatants would give his overall combat styl the last missing quality he needed beeing more careful and looking out for smarter ways to defuse or escalate a situation as he needed (I talk about a mendalorian or Yoda with more time and effort than he has in the short time he landed in daghoba as examples). This all was planned by Vader for the exact reasons knowing he could grow too dangerous if he had better control of the enormous power he originally has and the bright arsenal of force abilities that he ACTUALLY could use unlike maaaaany high end Sith and Jedi, not only that but would he have him a personality and dreams hopes and everything that comes with it he knew it’s a death sentence for his own might and even the might of palpatine had he been giving enough space for finding his own reasoned porpoise. So Vader by not being good at subtle manipulation and trying a direct calculated approach was more effective at creating a powerful controlled combatant than in my mind atleast Palpatine and with that being worse at manipulation but also better at manipulation by accident.

Starkiller has never been stronger than any version of Palpatine, canon or Legends. The canon version of Palpatine was pretty much the only character Starkiller COULDN'T beat, and we all know how Sidious' EU version is infinitely stronger than his canon self.
Also, while Starkiller beat Vader, he wasn't born more powerful than Vader, nor was he stronger. That's like saying Obi-Wan is somehow stronger than Vader because he beat him. A lot of Vader's losses had other factors playing in, that aren't present in other characters' battles. You could make an argument that Starkiller was more powerful than Vader reached after being limited on Mustafar, but you definitely have no argument that Starkiller is even remotely near Palpatine's strength.

For me what made star killer so powerful let alone dangerous was his mastery over one simple thing all warriors use
One thing that only two others have mastered themselves be it canon or legends. Killing intent
Only him, palpatine and vitiate truly mastered killing intent.
And I mean killing intent of its truest form
Galen does not need emotions, love, pain, empathy, or hate to be powerful he just needed a reason.
Now a lot of you probably think that should be an easy thing to achieve especially for sith or jedi masters but your wrong. True killing intent is almost as hard to achieve as dying with a smile. High willpower, consaesis and a clear mind or soul with a drive. Vary few will ever gain the privilege (or in the case of true killing intent, misfortune) of feeling or gaining that state of mind. Most of us will gain it possible once or twice throughout our whole lifetime if at all.
Galen had a natural disposition to it. Truly a granade
