I have a 2020 7.3 with a Carli 3" level and 37 12.5 20's on a 9" wheel. I have run just about every tire on all my HD trucks..diesel and gas. I presently have Falkin Wildpeaks and run 54 in front and 46 in rear and rotate and balance every 5k miles with mile oil changes. I am averaging 35k miles per set and then I order a new set while the dealer sells my old set for about 5-600.00. I could easily get 40+k out of them but I like quiet and I pull my skid steer 3 times a week and a 17k boat occasionally. I am mostly city driving and a lot of steering as well as going in and out of jobsites that are muddy...so these tires see a lot of different conditions. The chalk method is great. I have just found out over time that these pressures work so as the front tires go to the rear that lower pressure really levels them out and the ride is excellent. I am going to push this set of Falkins to 40k and then order another set. So far, the best tire that has really worked for me.

That’s impressive! I can only hope to get that many miles. I am currently running 35R and 40F for a better ride on short choppy stuff out in the desert and feels amazing.

Those pressures yield a great ride for what you are doing. On your next truck try a Carli level or lift. Their springs and shock tuning is what really made a difference in ride. On my last 4 fords I have had Rough Country, BDS, Icon and now Carli. The Carli set up is by far the best. The progressive springs are soft and forgiving going over pot holes and as you push the truck into a corner they tighten up. The shocks have been great as well and I have had this set up on this truck for over 3.5 years with no issues. Good Luck.@@mcmahansgarage

I don’t use the tire specified max, I look at Ford’s recommendation on the door jam. I like my TPMS as well. Changing the pressure using this method can change traction and fuel mileage in a way that the manufacturer did not design for. Also, straight line may wear more in the middle, but turning wears more on the side. Turning also wears faster. Stay with Ford’s recommendation.

Different tires require different specs though so you need to read what your tire says.

How much chalk do you recommend I buy if I am doing this on 4 LSW1400/30R46 tractor tires?
