We ended up trapped in Florida during a hurricane, but prior to and just afterwards the parks were virtually empty. It was at this time we got a ride up front with the driver. There were some cards he gave out but I can’t remember what they said (or find them) but it was about 15 years ago. We stayed at pop century.

Your video says the Mark III monorails ran until 1971, au contraire, true the Mark IV trains rolled out at WDW in 1971, however they were never at Disneyland the Mark IV and Mark VI were exclusive to WDW, Whereas
marks I, II, III, V and VII ( yeah, seven were Disneyland exclusives.

Thanks for correcting him on the misinformation Brian, I was trained on the Disneyland Monorail on March 30, 1985, on the Mark III. The following week after my training, they began the process of replacing one train at a time with the Mark V.

When my boys were little, we actually got to ride up front with the driver. It was so exciting for them. I understand the need for safety, but it is a shame this doesn't exist anymore.

I think they use an air curtain.

Disney World itself has a system that keeps bugs out and away from the parks so there are nit any bugs around the monorails to begin with.

5:40 Great vid, 'love the details, but what exactly qualifies both systems as being "eco-friendly"? The trains run on electricity, granted, but that electricity has to come from somewhere. A perfect public transit example of how a vehicle's electrical propulsion can be deceiving is Edmonton, Alberta's former electrical trolleybus system that looked "eco-friendly" on the surface, but was actually powered by a coal-fired power plant.

Most of disneys poer comes from environmentally friendly locations. They have several solar power locations on property but im not sure if ALL power comes from there
