After all these big announcements, I only hope they can squeeze in something mundane like a new show at Golden Horseshoe, or maybe a new story for Fantasy Faire Theatre. My dreams are so small.

I don’t think Avatar was the biggest diversion from the original vision given that there was supposed to be a mythical kingdom land and the logo of the park literally still has a dragon on it.

Personally, I think "tomorrow" land can just be turned into what it was when it first opened, with all that kinetic energy, the people mover, subs, autopia, monorail, and the rocket jets (Astro Orbitor on top of the roof again ). Then add a thrill ride that goes over the Autopia track layout without removing Autopia. That way, we get the best of both worlds. Disney's vision of the future from the 60s perspective along with a futuristic vision, something like Tron. "Tomorrow" land can be partially from the 60s, just like Frontierland is from the 1800s. If Tron is built over Autopia, that would be a thrilling experience for people on Autopia and the Monorail to see the cycles go by. Turn the Innoventions building into the queue and launch area for Tron, and call it a day. No need to take away any of the attractions that are already there. Just add one more, Tron, bring one back, the People Mover, and move the another one, Astro Orbitor.

@@capcawthat is true, but maybe whatever is added to Hollywood Studios should therefore be more family friendly. I would think the Best case scenario for Disney is to make each park a full day park that appeals to the entire family.

7:36 Given the Big Al interactive statue put in the DCA booth at Grizzly Peak, I also want to make the prediction that Disney will re-theme Grizzly River Run to the Country Bears. So it would be the same track with Country Bear animatronics on it. Funny since I was literally thinking in my head that they should do that- but now it looks likely given the cryptic tease. Also given that they just opened up a new Country Bear show in Florida. Knott’s did exactly that when they re-themed Bigfoot Rapids to the Calico River Rapids.

I feel I am very fortunate to have grown up in the 1960’s and went to the wonderful 1967 Tomorrowland.. “The World on the Move”. I was only 10 but my gosh it was amazing. CircleVison 360, Adventure Through Inner Space, Carousel of Progress, Peoplemover were all brand new. Then Mission to the Moon became Mission to Mars that same year, the old Rockets Jets were put atop the Peoplemover station, Autopia got new cars.
That is what Tomorrowland use to be. (And then Space Mountain came is 10 years later when I worked there.) Star tours was a great addition in 1986 (but at the expense of Inner Space). But then they change the Peoplemover to Rocket Rods which proved to be a disaster because they kept the Peoplemover layout and it just didn’t work (but I like dit when it did) and so here we are today. Sad….
Fun Fact: Rocket Rods was the same track system as Test Track that opened the same year, but because the elevated “road” was simply laid out on the Peoplemover layout instead of purpose-built it broke down a lot!)

Monsters inc is lowkey always packed. The park really needs to keep capacity rather than replace it. I dont think the ride is good enkugh to keep, especially in that problematic land, but its still frustrating that the park was so ill planned that we are still having to edit rather than add. So excited for pandora brickey 🎉
With all of the challenges the park faces with replacing hollywoodland, i really have far more confidence that they would rather build pandora from scratch in the 25 acre parking lot west of disneyland drive.
As for tomorrowland, my dream is that they build a figment attraction, and anchor their thesis statement about the future in the power of imagination 🎉

I’m okay with Animal Kingdom getting away from its original mission. I think Pandora was a great addition and it looks like Tropical Americas could also be a home run. Although, I do think Disney should add an animal discovery trail to Tropical Americas as is the case with Asia and Africa. There are so many wonderful animals to feature from Latin America. I also agree with you, a Villains Land belongs in the Magic Kingdom transitioning into Fantasyland. Talk about Yin/Yang. As for the Animation Courtyard in Hollywood Studios, that’s where Zootopia should go or it could go in the Indiana Jones Stunt show corner as Indy will be in Animal Kingdom moving forward. In that case, Cars Land could go in the Animation Courtyard area.

So in recent years, Disney has shown us many "what if..." ideas that never had an actual financial green-lit budget. These were just a bunch of blue-sky watercolor painting dreams with no "actual" money behind them. Disney,...it's OK to do that stuff all they want....fine! However, this time, show us ALL of your great ideas and dreams BUT tell us witch ideas HAVE been approved and which ones that are just ideas that have no "actual" money attached to them. Also,..PLEASE tell us a basic timeline for each idea! As in, 5 years, 10 years or 15 year completion estimate. Disney,..do NOT pump everybody's expectations into the stratosphere on these things!!!. Yes,..this is great for "today" but in a year or two or three when people see no groundbreaking yet, people are going to get furious when the public relations gas runs out. (and it will when budgets get severely slashed for all of this in the future) As Disney fans,...we KNOW this will eventually happen. Budget promises always start off good but then inevitably, finance ALWAYS slashes them drastically mid-project. It's CRITICAL that Disney MANAGE EXPECTATIONS CAREFULLY on this. Your future reputation and credibility is on the line.

Avengers Campus, Hollywood Land and Tomorrowland need something significant and impressive. But I agree with Brickey in that it’s a huge challenge. It’s comes down to completely leveling existing buildings or getting seriously creative. I also would love to see Disney release the imagineers to design something that is not attached to an IP like they did when they came up with Big Thunder or Pirates. It’s risky. But some of the most beloved attractions were not related to movies. They were pure imagination that became wildly popular and later became a movie. That level of creativity and design needs to return to truly honor the magic.

  • @wheelindisney5874
    @wheelindisney5874 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Reining in expectations is the way to go. As a CA resident, the E-ticket for Avengers Campus makes a nice, but expected development. I'd happily take it. But that's not a blockbuster. Blockbuster stuff in CA is the resurrection of the Eastern Gateway, and expansion of both parks to the west. I don't expect anything concrete on any of those this year. I actually don't expect to see much in CA, as anything big is going to be complicated and take a long time to plan out. Maybe next year or the year after.
FL is where the action in the US will be. Don't know what exactly, but the area beyond Thunder Mountain seems the most promising. I suspect Disney really wants to do something there, they just need to decide what exactly. Villians would be fantastic and make a great blockbuster announcement. Maybe one of your other ideas. But only one.
I expect the parks in Asia to be the big winners again. The potential market there is so much bigger than in the US and Paris.

I don’t think Disney values its employees like it once did. These people want to work and Disney hasn’t made much new stuff since Star Wars land. The big draw the past few years was epic and then there’s Vegas and Texas coming too. Then it seems like Hollywood has more plans beyond fast coaster too. 2 ideas
Imagine the things you could do with a WHOLE villians park. This would have to be a themed land (sadly) for kids and adults but lean it to adults. Think it as a not so scary maybe just scary type. villians and minions wandering picking on guests. A whole " terror " trail (walk through) or dark ride filled with all sorts of haunts. But for adults...THE JABBERWOCKY ROLLERCOASTER!! A full on thrilling rollercoaster for even the most avid of rollercoaster enthusiasts.
while yes, universal has the velocicoaster. disney needs something along that line or better! the launch could be called the breath of the jabberwocky and the chase begins. inversions, loops, hard turns and big air time. we need this to feel like we are being chased by the jabberwocky. it needs loud speakers all around the coaster and make it feel immersive.
the restaurant would be the sanderson sisters brew house.
the next ride would be Chernabog's Revenge, a hyper themed true villianious ride. it would be akin to pirates in Disney Tokyo, big screens, immersive and wildly wicked throughout.
yes, this is insanely past what disney would very likely allow but imagine the possibilities of a villian land truely being villainous.
the other thought for hollywood studios is leveling everything besides tower of terror and star wars land of course. There is a big story within the disney parks called S.E.A.S. The Society of Explorers and Adventurers. disney.fandom.com/wiki/Society_of_Explorers_and_Adventurers
This all new park would be based around the story and adventurous, an e-ticket WET ride would be involved. In this park you could make it a bit more kid friendly with adventurous themes, character meet ups and quests for kids to play along with. Completely immersive, quests and items throughout the park to interact. tower of terror could be integrated as well into this story as well. it is an old, run down hotel but is haunted by the ghosts from the crews of ships that have passed through and stayed at the hotel.
just a couple thoughts since we are big thinking about parks.

This might seem like a bizarre question, but what "is Disney" from a park's perspective? Is it a place for families to enjoy together? Is it a place for roller coaster enthusiasts? Is it a place for Disney adults to have a unique meal or drink? Is it an immersive interactive experience blending aspects of fantasy into reality? Is it a place to experience the latest ride concepts and designs? I am a Season Pass holder at a boardwalk amusement park, I can describe it as a permanent carnival (lots of basic flat rides) with a handful of unique roller coasters.

I really like your breakdown, also your voice and presentation style of the video. However “animals” is not the “theme” of animal kingdom. The intrinsic value of nature was Joe Rohdes original vision. Animals merely are the means to convey that, but that’s also why the conservation story lines of so many areas work so well. It’s about respecting nature, and learning what you can do to help revere nature. Animals are a huge part of that. Encanto seems a little more iffy, but Indiana Jones at least is an archeologist which is all about preserving the past etc. and respecting the powers of the more divine things which I think works well. Keep it up!

Yeah I messed up doing this in a hurry I should have used the word conservation but these videos are a lot work for one guy and I make mistakes trying to get a teams worth of work done in two days.

Nope! He should be canned, just like Iger. Fire everyone at the top, bring in better talent, clean house and then turn the sinking Disney Corp around with a focus on the money-making engine of the parks.
They need to get way more conservative on their crappy studios division and probably shut down Disney+.

Well there are several of us who wish to have and experience Radiator Spring's racers the attraction. If no one would want more clones is only by if the blue sky wait and wait based on the entire Beyond Big Thunder would end up only on that. Family Franchise's like Cars, Frozen and Big Hero 6 etc shouldn't be limited to one coast. To me the ride will be part of a family eater for the whole family wheras Coco and Villains will be more on population split taste. TBA makes no sense for little ones can't admire their beloved princess for their age and height.

Disney has turned into a cancer in the film making space and as a company. Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy push "THE MESSAGE" so hard that they have forgotten what made them such a beloved storytelling business. The company needs to be surgically and strategically moved back into focus.
