Stax pieces are a double-edged sword. In this game, it looked like Beezy's Aven Mindcensor wrecked both Cam and Dylan but of course it doesn't do anything Necropotence. Mia kind of got the dream scenario, basically one opponent spending resources to stop the two other ones while not affecting you that much. Of course it's also impressive to win with Kaalia through a Drannith since that deck tends to be pretty commander-centric!
Well, I feel the Thalia helped Mia just as much as the mindcensor, because it meant she had more time to cast her big beaters while the combo attempts of the others were diminished. Like, Cam being on one land and casting a dark rit to be able to cast a rock is just painful to watch. But yeah, impressive to see. Play more wraths, people. 4Cmc is not that expensive to remove all from the board.
I love it when cEDH players run out of gas or get staxed out. Games just look so, as BEEZY said “limited” with everyone plying suboptimal options as last resorts.
I have her as a high power/Cedh commander and just getting her out early does so much, people don’t really know just how much life you lose to her so quickly and they just play right into it

That "phantom end step" bothered me. Given that this is cedh, spells should be cast in response to the mana crypt trigger, because once it resolves and Dylan takes damage, it's then Mia's turn. Good game otherwise.
They played it right! Turn continues through phases as normal if a player dies, just without an active player. Love those niche rules. 800.4g. If a player leaves the game during his or her turn, that turn continues to its completion without an active player. If the active player would receive priority, instead the next player in turn order receives priority, or the top object on the stack resolves, or the phase or step ends, whichever is appropriate.
I can't stand the nerds! I think their content is mindless and subpar at best. That said, I was looking forward to watching them get beat and I laughed at the "jank" as they announced their commanders. Then Beezy drops the got 'em censor into Thalia and I find myself torn because I love those stax pieces so much!

I thought when a player loses, the turn ends instantly, similar to a sundial trigger. You can't respond once they are dead to flash in aven?
Nope, they still go through all of their phases so you can respond on an eliminated person's turn
