How does that Bodie guy sleep at night, claiming that the slavery in the Bible is just indentured servitude?? Just read the entire chapter of Leviticus 25. It spends most of the chapter spelling out indentured servitude, and then in verses 44-46 explains that there's a whole different system for people who are not fellow Israelites: _"44 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have-you may acquire male and female slaves from the pagan nations that are around you. 45 Then, too, it is out of the sons of the sojourners who live as aliens among you that you may gain acquisition, and out of their families who are with you, whom they will have produced in your land; they also may become your possession. 46 You may even bequeath them to your sons after you, to receive as a possession; you can use them as permanent slaves. But in respect to your countrymen, the sons of Israel, you shall not rule with severity over one another."_ So it's *race-based* distinction, a permanent, heritable status as property... or what we commonly call slavery. Human permanent property that can be willed to the next generation is not "indentured servitude" by any stretch of the imagination. How can he sleep at night? How can he look at himself in the mirror?
The answer... Simple, he does not attempt to live with himself or look in the mirror... He feels no compulsion to be decent or honorable or righteous... Indeed, in his mind he's totally in the right & anything is justifiable, if it means he converts a single soul or at a min, at least informs them of his "truth". As far as he's concerned, he does not have any need to be upstanding & honest; a soul saved by lies is still better then a soul lost for the truth. He's certainly a very nasty, abusive, heartless, despicable little boy; but that's really the only way anyone can be a part of the Abrahamic cults by being as corrupt & cruel as him. Realistically, you're correct, he's lying he's ass off about damn near all (if not all) things he's said. Unlike many, he's fully aware of both the evil of what he's doing & the blatant evil of the cult but he doesn't care because he still maintains his wealth/position/power. Adam
They know full well what the passages say and what they mean, they obfuscate and twist the meaning to attempt to overcome their cognitive dissonance on the subject, nothing more. It's like the last single girl at a bar at closing time; with enough beer and squinting, she kind of looks attractive.
I wanna know how he sleeps at night with all the coffee or energy drinks he must guzzle to talk that fast. "WTF dude? Slow down, your ass isn't on fire." XD
Robert Richardson How can he sleep when the Bible doesn't say what all preachers are telling people? They sleep well because they know it's a lie and *They Made Millions To Keep Them From Thinking About All The Damn Fools They Fooled Out Of Their Money.*

paradisecityX0 I understand that there are places where it can be hard being a Christian. However, it should be difficult being religious, its believing in something that is not real and letting it dictate your life and guide your decisions.
I love Dan Barker's books, lectures, debates, and work done through Freedom From Religion Foundation! I quote him and refer people to his stuff all the time.
Great video as always. 😃 As you've touched upon. Dogmatic religion stems from a psychological need for group identity and belonging, together with a need for certainty and meaning. There is a strong impulse in human beings to define ourselves, whether it’s as a Christian, a Muslim, a socialist, an American, a Republican, or as a fan of a sports club. This urge is closely connected to the impulse to be part of a group, to feel that you belong, and share the same beliefs and principles as others. And these impulses work together with the need for certainty-the feeling that you "know," that you possess the truth, that you are right and others are wrong. At the root of these impulses is a fundamental anxiety and sense of lack, caused by our sense of being distinct individuals, existing in separation to other people, and a world "out there." This generates a sense of being "cut off," like fragments that were once part of a whole. There is also a sense of vulnerability and insecurity, caused by our insignificance in the face of the world. As a result, we need to "bolster" our sense of self, to strengthen our identity. Dogmatic religion is dangerous because it creates an in-out group mentality. It encourages people to withdraw empathy and morality from other groups, to see them as inferior and ignorant. Other groups can be seen as general entities, rather than as collections of different individuals. And when two groups are thrown together, with their different beliefs clashing, different beliefs that are an affront because they suggest that their own beliefs may be wrong, conflict and warfare are always close at hand.
Just went to creation today to make a cheeky donation of 1 cent (I believe in america a 1 cent tip is an insult). Couldnt do it the minimum donation is $5.00

And even if they do get someone to agree to exchanging it, they'll only get 1 cent so it will add insult.
The bullying of atheist children doesn't just happen in the Bible belt. I am in Colorado, and faced bullying in my daycare for not believing in God, with the various adults in charge very specifically looking the other way about it, and ignoring my requests for help. I eventually just lied to the other children to take care of it on my own.
I'd say that there is something fundamental in human psychology that urges us (almost to the point of compulsion) to defend whatever groups and communities that have accepted us as a member. That includes religions, political parties, nations, friends, family, fandoms of all kinds--- no matter what, our knee-jerk reaction is to defend them, even when they are clearly in the wrong.
Lord Billionaire Black Belt I've seen a half hour ad once that was unskippable. Unskippable ads exist and they're a bitch when they're super long and super awful.

Regarding adultery, my understanding is that in the ancient Jewish culture the definition was not the same as we have today. In biblical usage, adultery refers specifically to sex between a man (married or not) and a women who is the wife of another man. That is, it's impossible by definition for an unmarried woman to commit adultery. Adultery was seen as a crime against the woman's husband, as it was an assault upon his property (his wife) which caused it to lose value. You can see this demonstrated in Judges, when Samson has sex with a prostitute. A scene notable for how casually it is treated - the only reason it is even mentioned is to explain Samson's presence in the following section. As the prostitute was unmarried, no crime was committed. The very next morning he is up and doing the superhero thing, showing that God evidently didn't care: Premarital sex is perfectly fine for men, but not for women because it is a crime against their owner (husband or father). The prostitute is an exception, of course. Can't really drop her value any lower than it already is.
Have to seen Darkmatters Sampson the barbarian, with the voice of da ahnald. LOL. I escpecially love the way, he closes an open door, in order to smash through it.
The actually radical things Yeshua brought to the table that pissed off the organized religion of the day were 1) criticizing the organized religion and 2) bringing up the idea that God has a Son and God the Son is the Creator of humanity and God of Israel, opening old wounds of "Abrahamic monotheism's" Mesopotamian henotheistic roots. Iirc, the Pharisees weren't raging over Yeshua preaching the Golden Rule or loving your neighbor as yourself! 😂

Paul - great video...having Dan Barker as a sidekick was brilliant...keep spreading the rational word and keep these great guest appearances coming...kudos
I'm skeptical of Dan's claim that "shalom" was exclusively used as a militaristic term in that time period. That doesn't seem to match up with the etymology that's provided in the poorly-cited wiki article for the biblical use of the word. *sigh* why no sources wiki why wiki why
With the garden analogy, I think it would be more like "yeah that's a nice flower but this prehistoric predator is chewing on my leg please get me out of here"
when it comes to separation of church and state in the US, Virginia was where that happened in writing with adopted documents composed for that purpose, but the federal government never intended for the first amendment to separate the church from the state.... if you read the debates on the bill of rights (Creating the Bill of Rights, by Helen Veit), you will see in great detail what took place (if you don’t read, then you’re always going to be in the dark), and in the debates, there was NEVER any mention of the words separation of church and state, nor the idea imparted by anyone of the concept of separation of church and state..... what took place was Madison TRIED to defend the religious liberty of the people, but the religious liberty of the state governments is what won out with the clause as it was intended and adopted to do….. I even corrected Aron Ra and he thanked me for the information when I point out to him that it was New Hampshire that gave us the origin of the first amendment clause. Everything that Madison wanted to do was foiled by other “assholes” that steered the debates away from what Madison wanted, yet he’s given credit for the whole document…. Lol…just a thought…. Also, when I saw Dan Barker at the local Oasis meeting when he was in Houston a month ago, I asked him my patented question to find out just how well read they are, “have you ever read the letter Jefferson wrote to Rev. Samuel Miller” to which he cleverly countered my question with his question of “which one”… I was mentally floored with the quick and admirable whit Dan has, but of course his answer was no……. enjoy your stuff….

This slave is your slave, this slave is my slave, from Megiddo, to the Mediterranean, call them indentured servants, but they're still a slave to you and me...
At the main branch of the public library in Memphis, I was looking for books on bigfoot and found two books by Robert Ingersall and one by Dan Barker, mostly about how the very idea of gods was a harmful, insane lie. Only those 3 books. That was all I ever read on atheist issues. That and the Bible made me atheist. And I learned all about evolution in Catholic high school.

You got Dan Barker! Congrats! I knew the part about the woman taken in adultery was a forgery, but I didn't know that text appears in different places in different manuscripts, compounding the fraud.
On the topic of slavery, it is important when talking about Hebrews enslaving other Hebrews for 7 years to point out that if during that time the master provided the slave with a wife and they had a child, the wife and child were the master's slaves forever and they didn't get to go free on the 7th year with the male slave. However, if the male slave wanted to stay with his wife and child, the master could take him to the town square and use an awl to pierce his ear to show that he was his slave for life and they could also be passed on to subsequent generations. So this was probably a commonly used trap used by Hebrew slave owners.
I heard that the whole stoning thing was about them not following the true law about adultery, that they should also get the man, and have witnesses, and that he wrote these things in sand to remind them that they're just being vigilantes and not following the actual letter of the law and that made them reconsider.
Politicians know the rules well enough to avoid 'official' twitter accounts. If the account isn't directly governmental they can dodge all those pesky regulations.
Ham has a video posted on the FB Ark debacle site. 30 Sept 2017. He goes to interview some of the "crowd" and quickly moves on when he realises that they are staff members. Later in the same video a morbidly obese staff member also "found" in the crowd says everybody should try the fried chicken.
I can freely attest and admit personally, that religious belief (in my case, mormonism) can indeed be equated to bullying. It not only bullies people, especially children, into accepting things against their will and better judgment, but also produces bullies who, by their own right, don't see themselves as bullies. The difference mainly being in that, whatever a bully traditionally does is for their own pleasure and entertainment, but a religious bully does so in the _belief_ that they're actually helping out. I really didn't think I was doing harm - exactly the opposite in fact, when I was telling people to stay in the closet, keep one's sexual and gender "preferences" (as I thought at the time, that they were down to a matter of simple choice) away from the eyes of God and that a righteous life is inherently in direct opposition to a natural one. _That the natural human being is in fact God's enemy,_ was verbatim what we were taught at sunday school, and that we are helping poor distracted souls when we are "enlightening" them of their life of sin. This is the insiduous nature of religion: The true bullies are the ones at the top, very much like Ken Ham here, who enjoy all the benefits they gather from tax incentives etc, and basing their entire lives and careers on excercising and expanding their religious practices. They are the ones who stand to gain most of indoctrinating children; not at all the children themselves.
Atheism isn't a religion, it's a religious position. It's a religious position that actually is accepted by some religions (specifically thinking of some sects of Buddhism). It doesn't necessarily indicate a lack of religion.
I see no problem with elected officials drawing on positive aspects of any religion's holy books combined with the best secular sources to come up with real world solutions to the immense challenges facing mankind today...This would not be an endorsement of any one religion, but an acknowledgement that they do have something positive to offer society creating a win-win scenario.
Evolution & creation can co-exist cause one cannot stand alone by itself. Everything in the physical world was/is/will be created (plants, animals, people, etc) & all living things change & adapt to their environment which is the fundamental concept of evolution...
I had a question for Paul if I may. What are the lyrics for the Ham & AiG theme song? The only part you can make out are "Ham & AiG" but nothing else. I'm sure it would be more funny and make more sense if we could all make it out. Any chance we could get an updated version some time?
I think you say something similar at the end there, but I don't see separation of church and state meaning the "government statements" can't include religion. Or that it can't influence policy as voters do choose people to represent them based on their beliefs. That being said fighting to reduce such I agree with, I just don't see it as a legal matter.
I have a love/hate relationship with the ham and aigs theme song. Love it cuz it is a great play on words. Hate cuz it gets stuck in my head for days...

_"44 As for your male and female slaves whom you may have-you may acquire male and female slaves from the pagan nations that are around you. But in respect to your countrymen, the sons of Israel, you shall not rule with severity over one another."_
So it's *race-based* distinction, a permanent, heritable status as property... or what we commonly call slavery.
Robert Richardson
How can he sleep when the Bible doesn't say what all preachers are telling people?
They sleep well because they know it's a lie and *They Made Millions To Keep Them From Thinking About All The Damn Fools They Fooled Out Of Their Money.*
Marilyn Newman
There always seems to be a way to be a despicable person, but feel self righteous about it.
Last time I was this early, Paul was still a Christian
oTTer 🤣
An alternative title for this could have been "Ken Ham: Freedom From Information"
We had that problem when our daughter was in elementary school. A kid walk up and slapped her on the forehead, and telling her that now she is baptized and saved. It was just one issue out of many she had due to being an atheist.
Brain Matter Try being a Christian in China
paradisecityX0 I understand that there are places where it can be hard being a Christian. However, it should be difficult being religious, its believing in something that is not real and letting it dictate your life and guide your decisions.
I love Dan Barker's books, lectures, debates, and work done through Freedom From Religion Foundation! I quote him and refer people to his stuff all the time.
Dan is a great asset to the community (and so are you). Thanks for bringing him on!
Great video as always. 😃
As you've touched upon.
Couldnt do it the minimum donation is $5.00
You could still do so via snail mail. I'm sure there's some p.o. box adress on their website.
l gotta admit, the picture in my head of the face of the person who opens that envelope is hilarious.
@@stephaniecuellar3192 if you're doing it via snail mail, send 1p (smallest British currency) because as Paulogia pointed out in a different video, Ken and crew like pointing out "look how non religious England and Canada are. This is what the US will be like". Plus them they probably can't even use it because where will they exchange it for 1.25 cents? And even if they do get someone to agree to exchanging it, they'll only get 1 cent so it will add insult.
The bullying of atheist children doesn't just happen in the Bible belt. I am in Colorado, and faced bullying in my daycare for not believing in God, with the various adults in charge very specifically looking the other way about it, and ignoring my requests for help. I eventually just lied to the other children to take care of it on my own.
Enjoyed your videos as always I really enjoy them when you have a guest
I'd say that there is something fundamental in human psychology that urges us (almost to the point of compulsion) to defend whatever groups and communities that have accepted us as a member. That includes religions, political parties, nations, friends, family, fandoms of all kinds--- no matter what, our knee-jerk reaction is to defend them, even when they are clearly in the wrong.
Does TH-cam really expect me to sit through a 6 minute ad before watching this video? Seriously?
eddiebruv
Must really want you to get TH-cam Red - I read that it helps content creators more than watching ads
Lord Billionaire Black Belt I've seen a half hour ad once that was unskippable. Unskippable ads exist and they're a bitch when they're super long and super awful.
Hey Paul, I enjoy your videos and they helped a friend of mine and I refute dogma of this sort. Please keep creating this excellent content. I would also like to add that well the state should never endorse a religion, the representatives of the people such (Senators, Repreps, ect) should have free speech. Even if the account was public he should be able to say what he pleases.
Glad I could be of some small help.
I can't believe I haven't seen this collaboration before.
Love the dawkins quote concordance, thanks for that!
The first rendering of the ‘Golden Rule’ was by Confucius
way back in 1200 B.C.E..
LoL. "You're not he apostle Paul, are you?!"
I know Dan was joking, but it's funnier to me to think he sincerely thought you were the apostle Paul.
Great Video. Love ya, Dan!
EeT! I'm sorry you're not in this... you're drawn, but the new animation would have meant a day delay. I'll send it on this weekend and you'll see next week.
No worries brother. I figured you were saving it for an upcoming Ham and AiGs: One where you have a guest on that's an expert at getting drunk and yelling at pigeons.
when you said brother the voice in my head shifted to hulk hogan thanks :P
Even if Ken and company read the entire bible; they would still find ways to gloss over or reinterpret the "unchristian" parts. There is just too much money to be made from religion.
"Dr" Purdom lives in some kind of bubble. She has no concept of reality.
Ken is a businessman.
I think she knows it's bull. Just nod and smile, collect the cheque.
Sunrayn Feister $$$$!$$!!$$$$
wow I thought I was the bonly one who knew the bullshit they spew had nothing to do with religion but everything to do with money
Paul - great video...having Dan Barker as a sidekick was brilliant...keep spreading the rational word and keep these great guest appearances coming...kudos
So happy to see(er... Hear) DB!
I've met Dan and Annie, both great people. Had to join FFRF after that encounter.
9:12 Looks like I found myself a new online toy!
FANTASTIC!
You're getting some great guests, you should see if cosmic skeptic would go on your show
I'm skeptical of Dan's claim that "shalom" was exclusively used as a militaristic term in that time period. That doesn't seem to match up with the etymology that's provided in the poorly-cited wiki article for the biblical use of the word. *sigh* why no sources wiki why wiki why
Ken Ham - a former high school science teacher is proof that religion is more powerful than reality.
With the garden analogy, I think it would be more like "yeah that's a nice flower but this prehistoric predator is chewing on my leg please get me out of here"
I feel like the Ham & egg song is sort of a hymn.
I sing it to myself.
Hearing Dan speak this fast is interesting
Also the Burning Times, a time when witch hunting and burning was at it's hight.
Battlefield Earth! One of the cringiest movies in history! Love it 😅
I loved the audio book read by Roddy McDowell. It's actually one of my favorite audiobooks.
You can thank +Shannon Quillan for that.
I enjoy your work Paul
I used "Francis Collins" as an example to an apologist during a lengthy debate about evolution. I never heard back...
when it comes to separation of church and state in the US, Virginia was where that happened in writing with adopted documents composed for that purpose, but the federal government never intended for the first amendment to separate the church from the state.... if you read the debates on the bill of rights (Creating the Bill of Rights, by Helen Veit), you will see in great detail what took place (if you don’t read, then you’re always going to be in the dark), and in the debates, there was NEVER any mention of the words separation of church and state, nor the idea imparted by anyone of the concept of separation of church and state..... what took place was Madison TRIED to defend the religious liberty of the people, but the religious liberty of the state governments is what won out with the clause as it was intended and adopted to do…..
I am thankful to my Lord and Saviour for people like Ken and Ravi Zacharias who know how to get The Truth to people who need to hear it. " Heaven and Earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away. " Jesus; 100 % correct to date, Shalom
What is an example of something that we could verify that Jesus was correct about?
" Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away " Jesus. 100 % correct to date, and we don't have far to go! Atheist come and Atheist go, you guys have been hammering on the Word of God for thousands of years, but you haven't put a dent in it. " All people are like grass, and the glory of man is like the flower of grass. The grass withers, the flower fades, but the Word of the Lord remains forever" And there is nothing you can do about it. Shalom,Trust Jesus Jesus any day !!!!!!!!!
I love how you had a clip from King Fury! I love that movie!
I got to meet the director in San Diego a few years back. Great guy.
Paulogia sweet!
Okay. I like all the vids, watched quite few of ‘m already, but I just got a soft spot for this one because the dog barking at the first bit got it’s own animated character. Lol.
It'll forever be a mystery why Ken Ham didn't bring on a FFRF spokesperson to clarify the issue with the government official's Twitter activity.
Ham and aigs over cooked again, in fact you burned it all up.
best comment so far!
johnelee2k93 yea yea we heard it all before.. If that shit was even remotely true you could show evidance. But instead you have a convicted tax fraud insisting magic is a thing. Tell me again what Paul and i have been convicted of. Dont get all mad because I'm better at insults, you premenstrual blood fart.
johnelee2k93
Me thinks you protest & project too much!
Obviously, the liars are aig, ham, you, etc... though you may also just be 1 of the deluded followers that enable their evil leaders to commit their atrocities through denial & ignoring the truth.
Adam
Larry Scarr
I spent a good couple seconds thinking "that guy spelled eggs wrong"
johnelee2k93 do you need a hug? I'm getting the feeling that you could really use a hug. Or benzodiazepines. Those are often more effective than hugs. But hugs are nice too. Hell, try both. You'll feel much better.
(I'm trying a different approach in these situations)
Saulogia?
Also the freedom from taxation, and the special employment policies
Hi Dan!!!!
You got Dan Barker! Congrats! I knew the part about the woman taken in adultery was a forgery, but I didn't know that text appears in different places in different manuscripts, compounding the fraud.
Loved this video.
Steven DuVall
Yuck omg
conduit122 Yup. Pretty sick stuff. There's much more where that came from. Just read the Bible.
I heard that the whole stoning thing was about them not following the true law about adultery, that they should also get the man, and have witnesses, and that he wrote these things in sand to remind them that they're just being vigilantes and not following the actual letter of the law and that made them reconsider.
Great show, as usual. Keep up the good work.
You added Kung Fury to your background clips.
Paul.
You are great, Paul. Even if you don't like puns.
I got to meet the director in San Diego a few years back. Great guy.
Politicians know the rules well enough to avoid 'official' twitter accounts. If the account isn't directly governmental they can dodge all those pesky regulations.
I agree, government offices shouldn't advocate for a religious view as part of separation of church and state.
Hi Paul!!!!!
Love it!
I wish I could be as articulate as Dan Barker. I really mean that.
I enjoyed my bible as lit class in high school
Why wouldn't a politician be able to say what he wants to say on twitter?
So if I understand the issue correctly, if his personal account had no mention of policy or official business, there would be no problem?
Evolution & creation can co-exist cause one cannot stand alone by itself. Everything in the physical world was/is/will be created (plants, animals, people, etc) & all living things change & adapt to their environment which is the fundamental concept of evolution...
Sounds like a beagle.
Could also be a Basset. The distinct hound 'accent' is there.
Saulogia!
I had a question for Paul if I may. What are the lyrics for the Ham & AiG theme song? The only part you can make out are "Ham & AiG" but nothing else. I'm sure it would be more funny and make more sense if we could all make it out. Any chance we could get an updated version some time?
Amazing work, wish I had the stomach to listen that much from those stooges!
I'm disappointed that your Ham and AIG News logo in the corner doesn't have the AIG logo on it.
a little busy on tiny phones
I don't c9nsider myself a christian anymore, but that book "the language of god" is actually pretty good imo, and I would recommend it for a reas.
Right now, money is tight. But I do follow you on Twitter, and am subscribed to your channel. And share your content on Twitter and Facebook
Eeeekkk! A new vid!!!!
I think you say something similar at the end there, but I don't see separation of church and state meaning the "government statements" can't include religion. Or that it can't influence policy as voters do choose people to represent them based on their beliefs.
That being said fighting to reduce such I agree with, I just don't see it as a legal matter.
