I Lived in Hayes in Kent for almost 20 years before moving to Belgium. Kent is a lovely county the Garden of England they call Kent. There is Maidstone. Rochester.
Canterbury. as well as picturesque country Villages one can visit. Lots of Hop Fields too. and Oast Houses around Kent. And Castles abound.Kent is one of my favourite English Counties full of history too.

🙏 Thanks so much, you're in luck because over the coming weeks & months we've got a lot more of our county to explore & share. Which part of Belgium are you in? We've travelled a bit through the country, and would love to do a lot more - we had a trip planned in 2020, but ...

@@OurWorldForYou I live in East Flanders near to the City of Ghent we speak Flemish not French here, it is like Dutch or Nederlands some words are different to the ones in Dutch. French is spoken in Wallonia mostly.

That's lovely, we've been to Ghent a couple few times, but not since the reworking of the town centre. Like 90% of Brits who have visited Belgium, we've been to Bruges & Brussels and Ypres, Leuven, and in Wallonia Liège, Namur & Waterloo. In 2020 we were meant to be returning to Leuven, Ghent & Mechelen, but those plans were thwarted. We also have to visit Mons, and it houses the war graves of a couple of soldiers from our village who fell in WWI. Do you have any hidden gems? Where would you recommend we visit when we return?

Around Ypres there are the World war one World war one Cemeteries inc Tyne cot war cemetery which is worth a visit one of the largest in West Flanders. Antwerp is a very nice city too nice around the docks and there is the Steen Castle in the same area and Rubens house and museum. Rubens is a very famous Flemish Artist. And also Antwerp Cathedral near to the centre of Antwerp, which is worth a Visit. one should try a Waffle and Pancake too while in Antwerp, with sugar and ice cream very tasty they are, different to the ones in Britain a bit tastier and the chips are delicious too not stodgy like the ones in Britain and with mayonnaise even better, nicer than red sauce. Veurne is nice too it is in West Flanders if you like beer try Trappist beer brewed by Monks in a abbey or monastery; strong beer it is, triple is very strong I tried it and to strong for me and one is enough to try. West Malle or Orval are good, there are other makes of Trappist beer available in Belgium and Blonde beers are nice too like pale ale they are we call them here, Pils.

Brian, thanks so much, we'll add Veurne, and Antwerp is also there. As for Belgium beers, oh a big fan, although I tend to treat them like wines. I've a few in the home at the moment, plus a collection of glasses for Westmalle, Duvel, Leffe - I think there may be another one our two in a dusty corner somewhere. Thanks again for the advice, appreciate that. Stay safe, stay well and here's to life after covid 🍻

So sorry. I absolutely adored the Kent countryside, but your decision to ' speed ' through it is a disappointment, although I understand your preference to spend more time perhaps within each village - many of which I have visited in the past.
Anyway, never mind, next time maybe :)

Ahh now that's interesting. The problem I have is I want to show as much of the landscape as possible, but if I didn't fast-forward, we'd have at least a 30-minute video. I edited this version down to the 17:46 it ended up at. And I have some bad news too, part 2 will probably take the same approach for consistency sake. Hopefully, though, the content in between will be worthwhile. Anyway, appreciated the honesty; I'll have a think about how to approach the road trips in future. Thanks again - Gary

@@OurWorldForYou Thank you for your kind response. I attempt to choose my words with some care, to not give any offense, but to provide some useful feedback :)
As I have walked and cycled through the glorious Kent countryside on many occasions, but I suspect, unlikely to do so again, I am naturally keen to do so in a virtual way.
However, I quite understand your approach, and feel quite certain the videos will still find appeal to many other viewers.
You still have my thanks and support :)

🙏 Thanks, that's very kind. I do understand the concern, I do wish I could take our views on a real-time view, and I'll be thinking about how to achieve that going forward without creating videos that are too long for most viewers.

Fifty years since I drove those roads.Road trips are great for the people taking them, but mile after mile of brown leafless hedges and trees is pretty boring for people watching the video. You seem obsessed with free parking, lol, and I worry you have to tell the viewer what a white circular sign with a black like through it means,is there no driving tests anymore in the UK ?
Stop and show us a few of the interesting things in the villages ,we know what country roads look like,we saw mile after mile of them on your video.
One last thing,if your going to whisper the commentary ,PLEASE turn the music down,it is so out of place. Apart from that it was pretty ,it was pretty, ...............um OK
Yours faithfully S.S, ..Head of Film Production , WWTT California.

Stuart, thanks for some interesting pointers. I appreciated the video may be seen by a mixed audience, so hence the pointers. The free parking, well, that's a mixed bag - in a cashless society scrambling around for loose change for a municipal car park, or download the app to have the privilege to pay 20% more on top for the convenience. I think I'm becoming grumpy 😂.
I do seem to be stuck between a rock and a hard place on the road sections. Some commentators want more, and not sped up, others want less - guess I need to find a happy medium.
As for the audio, will try better.
Thanks again for the comments, constructive and appreciated. Take care, stay safe.
      Regards, Gary
