Same I told my dad in part 1 when we were watching that I bet you the guys son is putting the idea into his head. And I asked my dad after part 1 ended “is it still considered murder today if both people agree to the duel?” My dad said yes it’s not like western movies in old times where it was alright to kill a man as long as it was in a duel”
The guy who got killed’s son was the one who put the idea into his head that you can get away with murder if you agree to a duel with the man you want to kill and defeat him that way. It was his plan all along because he knew his dad was sleeping with this man’s wife and knew he would kill him in a duel with swords when he got home and found them having an affair. And apparently he figured he’d go to court after turning himself in, and knew they wouldn’t charge him with murder, they’d only make him pay restitution to his surviving family, which was himself (the man who died in the duel’s son). So at the end, the man is forced to pay $100,000 plus 1,000 a month for the rest of his life to the man whom he killed’s son, which is the man we see at the very end and the same man from the beginning of part 1 who put the idea into his head in the first place at the bar about killing someone in a duel and getting away with murder. I hope that I explained this in a way that makes sense and hope it helps.
Paul Douglas died only a few months after this show appeared. He was only 52, but looked a lot older as you can see.
52?? Wondervwhat he died of.
@@hopemccubbin8661 Heart attack.
They say technology adds 20 years
Back then, they always looked older than they were. The women at that age even looked like Grannies.
Paul Douglas fine actor.
He should have had Perry Mason as his lawyer 😉
He was genuinely surprised
I was partly expecting this ending.
