This is based on a real-life story, much publicized a few years earlier, in which a hypnotized woman claimed she was a dead Irish woman named Bridey Murphy.
@@Cobbmtngirl Yes, really. A book was written about this hypnotized woman, and there was also a low-budget movie too. I think someone subsequently did some research on whether a real Bridey Murphy ever existed and I don't remember if anything concrete was found.

The father of Dennis the Menace got the car for her. One question. With the hypnotist dead while she was "under" how did she become no longer under his spell?
@@deby5983 Poetic licence I guess. I wondered that too. Also, if she was oblivious to the other people around her, as stated, how did she pick her husband out to stab him in the back?
@@thecatvirusgotme889/videos So what happens? Do they spontaneously break from it? Does it gradually wear off? So for a while they'd be like "half hypnotized"? Perhaps they got another hypnotist to get her out of it.
The only problem that I have with this is that if the hypnotist is the one to put her under the spell, who was going to remove it? I am surprised that nobody ask that question. I would of known she was guilty if she came out of the hypnosis.

@@mideastmadness1 I doubt it gets allowed in courtrooms though. It certainly wouldn't be admissible as someone could be faking it. Even less reliable then lie detectors which also are not admissible.

For sure. But it would have been smarter for her to keep denying.

The actor who played Scotty’s friend in Vertigo!

Pruning shears! Same murder weapon as on The Ghost and Mr. Chicken. I might have known! 🙂
Thanks for the upload!
Very well conceived and written.
I think that she planned it all and was just pretending to be hypnotized.
That is the point.
Although I prefer the longer versions, this is well edited….
So watch them! You can get them for free.
They Let her go out on public ??? WTF ???
There was more of a focus on the accused rights back then but still it's hard to believe.
She went on to be a serial killer
The actress is thaxter.
Phyllis Thaxter she reminds me of the actress Theresa Wright.
@@js5787 Thx I couldn't be sure of her 1st name. She reminds me of Kim Hunter.
Hypnosis in the courtroom? Too rediculous

The hypnotist should had a insurance policy. He should had the truth hid away.

Awesome!!!!!
Yes
How did killing another man get her exonerated from the first murder?
The 2nd "killing" did not exonerate her, His Expert testimony did - he stated she is not responsible for what she does under hypnosis.
Tv Lassie's mom 😉
