This is the last time the 4 of them would ever perform live together!
bwellkel it’s so sad but damn if you can’t see it in ALL their faces.
The end of the beautiful, magical journey😢!
@@christopherfletcher5384 a magical mystery tour
Not only that but this is the last time all four of them where in the same place together
all together
Famous moment where the Fab Four performed an impromptu concert on the roof of 🍏 Recording Studios great tune!!
On top of Abby Road Studios
During their residency the Beatles and others referred to Abby Road as Apple Studio, named after their record label.
Their last live performance.
@@lindawalker161 It was in fact on Apple Corps rooftop at 3 Savile Row in London's Mayfair district. The date was January 30 1969.
This was they’re last time they ever played together.
Not even 30 yet, on top of the world and stepping away. Amazing. Peace!
they were all still in their 20s when they ended the greatest band
The great Billy Preston on keyboard! And The Beatles, the greatest!
Just a note: As great as Billy was (I don't want to minimize his talent) he was not one of the Beatles. He did do some studio work when they needed an extra hand on keyboards, but both John Lennon and Paul McCartney both played keyboards.
@@garyr8739 They adored him.
As I said, I didn’t want to minimize his talent. Or what they thought of him. Just said he was not an actual member of the Beatles.
@@garyr8739 I absolutely caught that :) Peace!
Gary R Sorry you misunderstood, I said Billy Preston And The Beatles.
John and Paul were great lyricists and Paul, in particular, created fantastic melodies. All the Beatles sang their songs really clearly, you can understand every word and they're easy to sing along to and remember. Such a wide range of music to experience. AND, they had played together for years before making the big time so they were really "tight" together and instinctively knew what the others were doing during the song. Enjoyed your reaction Doc Rich !!
John was a 'great' lyricist, Paul, a 'good' one. But, I agree with your overall insights. Cheers.
It was basically the last song they ever played, on the rooftop of Apple and when it was over, John said, "I hoped we passed the audition."
"I'd like to say thank you on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition".
Cheers and applause from assembled crowd. History!
Just to add The Beatles Apple records, not the US jobs one.
A Day in the Life, Let it Be, Yesterday, In My Life, I am the Walrus, Here Comes the Sun, Strawberry Fields, While My Guitar Gently Weeps, oh man, there’s just too many to mention. ✌️❤️🇨🇦 And Doc Rich, luv you!
u didnt mention my fav beatles song :( Something- from abbey road
Etc etc etc etc etc etc etc
I like your smile: happiness is what you get when you listen to the Beatles.
Doc, you have a great personality and a sweet voice!!! No one will ever top the Beatles, my advice order all their albums on CDs, get a good player, you will own them for life!
The greatest and most famous group/artist in history. They had 400,000 fans show up at their hotel in Australia when they were touring. It got dangerous. Check out Beatlemania. It was insane. They couldn’t go into public without causing insanity even individually.
The Rooftop Concert! They just set up on top of the recording studio building and played the music. Ringo - the Drummer - says he kept expecting the police - who you can clearly see in the clip - to arrest them. He was wondering what the film clip of him being dragged off the drum set by several uniformed police would look like in the concert film.
Actually APPLE CORP (where this rooftop concert took place) is their OFFICE building. They did have a small studio built in the basement of Apple. But most of their records through their years as a band were recorded at Abbey Road Studios,
One of those moments the drummer Ringo Starr described as the magic returning when they sat down as musicians, in spite of what was going on within the band on Bs. level.
This video is like a statement of how much the band changed from the early 60’s to the end of their career. Musically. Personally. Awesome evolution.
Shows there are miracles for these four guys to get together and change the world. Not a coincidence.
Love the Beatles grew up on this group
So did I. I was12 when I saw their first performance in US on Ed Sullivan, Feb. 1964 and 18 in 1969. Soundtrack of my youth!
You are 100 percent true and touches the very soul of the person. Love all those Old School Songs.
I just came across ur channel I gotta say ur smile made my whole day! And the Beatles was definitely the cherry 🍒!
Love this song. It’s a staple at my family gatherings. When I hear elsewhere I hear it as my cousins are singing it
Beatles owned the 60's
These guys were so far ahead of their time.
Still are
Hard to imagine this is over 50 yrs ago.
Last time the BEATLES played live.
Also hard to imagine in just a few yrs from this performance John and Paul would be taking shots at each other through music.
Examples being Paul McCartney dig at John Lennon with the song
" To many people"
And then John's answer with
" How do you sleep"
I also think Paul's album " RAM" had other digs at John in it.
What's up Doc ? Just found your channel recently and you have quickly become my favourite . Why ? Cause you're REAL !
Glad you played this Beatles song / vid . It's my favourite .
I always liked John’s voice.
These are the biggest artists of all time and it’s not even close. By far the most sales of songs
January 30, 1969 Beatles bring London traffic to a halt in the area their Apple studios. It was the only way they could agree to perform live- in front of an "audience " that couldn't see them. Except for a few enterprising individuals who scrambled up on nearby roofs the only other people to see this last group performance were the film crew and a few invited guests. Glad you picked that tune- a favorite deep cut from my favorite Beatles album.
The beatles will always be the best band ever when the appeared on Ed sullivin show 80 million American watched and there was no crime that night and when the the beatles arrived at airports wow the crowd of girls were nuts but doc rich we need more the beatles reaction
Only the Beatles and U2 “where the Streets have no name”
Billy Preston on the keyboards adds a lot to the instrumental sound of this track. But I agree with you that John Lennon’s vocals wonderful and I think they are the highlight of it. The police you see in this video were sent to shut down this impromptu concert on top of Apple Records Studio in London for noise issues. They ended up hanging out for a couple of songs before the band wrapped it up. And it ended up being their last public performance together.
4:49 ....Stage right: The great Billy Preston on electric piano!
He's on, Get Back, as well.
The Beatles are awesome.
Fun fact... John and Ringo wore their wives coats because it was so cold up on the roof.
A Spoon And George.
Only Ringo, that was John's coat
The late great Billy Preston with them on keyboards, love it, thanks
I envy those guys chilling in the background witnessing this with a front row seat 🙂
Groove and soul, great song.
Greatest band of all time.
Amen! Trailblazers, unique, no two Beatles songs are alike.
On a roof... a first--which then others copied in homage (see U2 in LA)--one of many firsts that created, pushed, shaped, carried the culture, by the greatest band ever, period.
The songs stick because Lennon and McCartney were musical geniuses on a par with Gershwin or Cole Porter. Their talent for melody is why they're the most commercially successful band in history.
Yes they are on top of a roof - and I was in London 2 years ago and went to the location - its a clothing store now - but everything else looks the same. Very cool
You don't have to be a great artist to perform on a roof. But you have to be a great artist to perform on a roof and draw a crowd.
There is a video showing the people below on the street spontaneously gathering like a flash mob. It's amazing.
This was the last time they performed together live. Known as the "Rooftop Concert".
React to the Beatles- Here, There and Everywhere. Most beautiful song I’ve ever heard
So true (also funny john joke for the name)
Damn I heard that song for the first time last year and it is so beautiful, my god...just a perfect love song
In My Life is better
@@johnlemon874 i love in my life too :)) (also, love the name)
Please do more Beatles reactions, I love the Beatles
My favorite version of this song. Billy Preston was on keyboard. Check him out, he had some great songs.
did u know bruh the one playing the piano was billy preston check him out too he was their pianist in the latter part of their years as a band
You have to watch the whole rooftop concert. The vid is really cool. It was an unannounced concert and people just stopped to listen, which also brought the London Bobbies to stop the show.
Even thou they did not show him, the key boards was, Billy Preston. Sometimes called the 5th Beatle.
He loved Yoko until he was killed in NYC, so really, it’s forever......❤️
The Beatles are the embodiment of cool
You’re right about that, everybody thinks it’ll last forever. Lol maybe it does sometimes. You gotta hope!
5:00 this man is cleannnnn
Rubber Soul is perfection...and yes I know this isn't Rubber Soul but I am just saying
4:59 damn he actually hit that note pretty good😭
That's Billy Preston on keys. He was also a player in their Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - and more.
And they had to shut down the concert because people in nearby office buildings complained of the noise! Can you imagine! Their last time performing live together.
Love this track and video. Lennon's singing was so raw and great on some songs. (The first Grunge musician t I heard someone say once) His solo stuff never worked for me but in the Beatles, he was the man. Billy Preston keyboards very nice too.
This was the last time they played together.
Your reaction is fantastic. So funny and warm.
Helter Skelter, or Yer Blues. The Beatles are tough on You Tube, but those are songs I'd recommend too.
This was on the Apple HQ roof and the police were called as they caused massive traffic jams with this live rendition
Paul McCartney says he and John Lennon as a rule never wrote anything down when they were writing music, because if they couldn't remember it themselves no one else would and if they couldn't remember it, it wasn't worth remembering and they moved on to the next song.
Billy Preston and Ringo killed it on this song .
The beatles es la mejor banda del maldito mundo!
This is definitely a classis ❤️ 1 of those kinda songs that just grabs u right away 🎵
Back then, you had to be good to get a following. They couldn’t depend on social media, heavy internet marketing, even music videos were still a rare thing then. So if your song isn’t catchy, you definitely won’t remember it enough to think about the band again.
This was the last time they all performed together live
You can get a glimpse of Billy Preston on the keyboard...he is to the right of McCartney on bass with two Bobbie’s behind him...check out other songs from the rooftop..Get Back, I’ve got a feeling, One after 909, I dig a pony..
Billy Preston on organ. Sweet sounds. Could've been the fifth Beatle.
Electric piano
Love your reaction - are they on top of a roof?!!! Recording studio roof.Billy Preston on keyboards, Yoko sitting to the right. Can you do The Two Of Us? I listened to on anniversary of John’s murder. John and Paul sound so happy singing in harmony.
The last live performance of the Fab Four
I love this video, great reaction bro! Keep going making this good material, and please react to A Day In The Life - The Beatles, it is their masterpiece and one of the greatest song of all time and the best of The Beatles, so please react to it, will make you feel a lot of things.
A Day in the Life is simply magnificent.
@@davidbweiner of course it is. The best song of the best band ever so complex and magnificent.
Love this brother!
Great band! THE fabolous Billy Preston on piano. Check out His cover of Beatles George Harrisons " My sweet lord". Tribute concert for George.
Lovely reaction....thank you!
Been waiting for beatles content
Lol I just watched a reaction from a young kid thought it was back in the 40’s it was recorded I’m still laughing 😂
🐞
There's no beatle emoji gotta make do
Recorded on the roof of the EMI studios on Abbey Road.
The black guy playing keyboards is Billy Preston!
Every time I see this video I think to myself I’m gonna get me some mint green pants. But I never do.
BTW, you should listen to whole albums through of the Beatles--they invented the concept album (with Bob Dylan, arguably, also) in which the songs are written with a theme/purpose running through them and are put in specific order purposefully. Try first "Revolver", the "Sgt. Pepper's LOnely Hearts Club Band". Look at Rolling Stones top 20 albums of all time and see how many are by the Beatles.
John Lennon's got alot of great solo stuff too you should check out.
Instant Karma, Working Class Hero, Well,Well,Well
Respect. Great review choice. ... The concert was in no way impromptu. I do forget about this song sometimes. Day In the Life and Eleanor Rigby are two of my favorites but I’m sure at this moment I’m forgetting some.
Billy Preston is there somewhere on the keyboards rest in peace Billy
1. You know you are cool, if you can look cool, wearing your wife's fur coat. 2. You know you are cooler than the guys in their wives coats, if you are chillin in your suit jacket instead.
That was closest the Beatles ever came to sounding soulful. They needed a a good deal of help from Billy Preston and Phil Spector to get there.
Phil Spector only did remix of Let It Be album. Had nothing to do with recording of get back sessions
@@subg8858 Please support that claim with something.
Phil Spector had nothing to do with this. Spector could not tie George Martin shoe laces
Wearing their wives' coats because it was so cold on the roof.
And still looking gangsta
Not their wives coats....only Ringo's was. George and John were wearing their OWN coats. Yoko was very tiny and petite, anything she wore would never fit him. Besides, if you watch Peter Jackson's 3 part "GET BACK" on Disney+ you will see them both wearing those coats, several times upon their arrival at Twickeham film studios AND Apple, during the month long rehearsals that were filmed for the movie "LET IT BE" and eventually used in "GET BACK'
Someone may have said it...That's Billy Preston on the keys. He was huge in the later years of the band.
The 5th Beatle.
With Billy Preston on keyboards!
It is just sad for the world, that the Beatles after a cooing off period, they never got back together for another couple of albums. The Beatles started the use of bigger stadiums to perform in. Never had a chance to perform in front of millions of fans.
Yeah I wonder if lennon would've got killed if he went with the band again, this or that don't know, just hate what happened to him, needed more protection.
Paul is one of the greatest bass player ever!!.PERIOD
So true
They're on the roof of Apple studios; their last performance.
Doc you have been on the beatles kick any chance you could try john lennon’s solo work? Working class hero would be a discussion and instant karma is my favorite track of his!
I got my backups too!
Never a wasted note.
And people say where The Beatles the ,Man they were !!
Their last performance 1969 in London
I'm actually shocked, I've never seen this before now...wow.
the fifth Beatle ... Billy Preston on piano
Let It Be and Yesterday by The Beatles need react videos.
Yesterday is the most covered song ever. In the British Museum, they have the original written lyrics and say it was covered at least 2000 times that they know of. 2000!
