Hey guys! We know you have been waiting for this video for such a long time, we FINALLY published it ! Thank you for sending us your questions about our property here in Turkey and the renovation cost. We tried to cover as much as possible in this video. Let us know what you think, we'd LOVE to hear from you
The trend seems to be 1) Non-Turkish Realtors/Contractors 2) Renovations instead of New/Off Plan. Any insight into why this is the pattern I notice from those actually buying property in Istanbul?
Really great video and Angelina was great!! Please be warned! If you intend on buying a historic property by law you have to abide by UNESCOs rules on the state of conservation/ Historic area of conservation. You have to hire an architect and apply for planning permissions which can take up to one year. If you don’t you’ll be caught and fined/ your build will be put on hold. Since early this year you’ll now also have to apply for permission by the cultural minister for an Airbnb permit. If you’ve bought an apartment, you’ll have to ask everyone’s permission to allow your Airbnb. If you own a house, you obviously don’t. Also, try to find architects outside of Istanbul. From other cities eg Bursa/ Izmir etc who work with builds/ projects in Istanbul all the time. İstanbul architect firms can be extortionate
Great info! I love how modern it is and all the windows. Awesome decision to add a terrace. Watching this video makes me want to buy a property in Turkey! Can’t wait to see a video when it’s finished!
Thank you for sharing this breakdown in prices video 🙏 compared to the US, that’s a really great cost on renovating a property that size! This info is really helpful! How did you guys find Angelina? And does she take on jobs all over Istanbul?
Hey Stephen, they charged 10%. The range here in Turkey is anywhere from 10-18%. Obviously depending on how large the team is and how much experience they have.
Awesome video can you please please share how you finance the purchase of the property did you buy it out right or it finance via a mortgage in Turkey. Please share contact details for the lady/ renovation project manager.
Hello Naveed! Thank you for watching our video! We used cash to buy the property and finance the renovations. Cash is mostly used to buy properties since the interest on mortgages isn’t that appealing in Turkey. You can find Angelina’s contact info in the description here. You can also visit www.mybricksrealestate.com that’s her company. Best of luck !!
thank you for the very informative video. Appreciate if can provide the link or the information of the renovation company name or website for reference/reach them, 👌 thank you
I schooled in that area, just bring your own money. no income generation in Turkey.. find a remote job, that lets you work from anywhere and then go live in Turkey. good luck.
First I thought the same but after watching the work they have done in the apartment actually not too bad, this is not a simple renovation . The best part of this you don't have to deal with the construction workers they are horrible in general.
I live in north cyprus and have a portfolio done several reno myself.i thought $56k looked like a lot but then went through everything not too bad for using a contractor. Sure you could do it yourself and find it cheaper but trades bit getting reliable & quality trades is difficult unless you have an exusting team plus you really need to know the lingo my wifes turkish & she always negotiates the price..always yabanci price is different.

Hi I’m planning to move to turkey in July possibly I was wondering if you have any tips on generating income
I schooled in that area, just bring your own money. no income generation in Turkey.. find a remote job, that lets you work from anywhere and then go live in Turkey. good luck.
that's only $22k USD today
50k is pretty steep for a reno but if you made a profit that's great... Keep going!! 😂
she is too expensive.. I went with local craftsmen, and it was one third of her cost..
🥳🇹🇷❤️💪🏼
Too expensive......
