never thought of visiting turkiye being from the Philppines after chancing upon some of your videos sometime March 2024.. I made a research damn!!! I want to see this beautiful country.. July and Augist 2024 Me, the wife and my 7 yr old boy travelled through Istanbul, Antalya, Kas, Kalkan, Oludeniz, Fethiye and Dalaman... It was the best travel experiwnce of my life... LOVE DROM THE PHILIPPINES
I am Filipino living in Sydney and I have been in Turkey three times, my favourite country I have visited for the last 35 years of my travelling time around the world. The people are so friendly, helpful and genuine. I have been like sort of Turkey ambassador because I tried the convinced my friends and relatives to visit Turkey. I have since took my brother, sisters and brothers and sister-in-law’s to Turkey. If you are brave and confident enough hire a car to see more of it’s wonders. We were supposed to go there this summer but we run out of time during our 10 weeks European summer holidays, but God willingly we will be back in 2016.🙏
Turkish people are so kind When I holidayed there in the late 90's my jeep got a flat tyre Two workers walked 150m across some waste ground to the road to help me and wouldn't accept anything in return, despite my best efforts to give them some money
Very normal in Turkish culture. I remember when I was 14( 1990) we were in Bodrum for the summer vacation. As we were crusing by the road we saw a stalled Suzuki Vitara; a rental, tourists typicaly used to get back then. My father (RIP) stopped the car and we helped them. They ran out of gas so we siphoned gas from our car and filled theirs so that they can make it to the nearest gas station. They offered money, my father, of course didn’t accept it. Because you just do the right thing and help people, and in return all you need is seeing people happy and you feel good that you are able to help. Turkish people will go the extra mile to help; it is a cultural thing
Mick Amca✋We are proud to hear lovely comments about Turkey and Turkish people from you, we are also very lucky that you decided to choose Turkey as your home 🙏
Mick amca Türk insanının insani değerlerini tanıyıp,öne çıkardığın,yozlaşmadan önce belgelediğin için teşekkürler.Bir Türk olarak değil sadece bir insan olarak minnettarım.
I agree with you Mick, the Turkish are the friendliest and good people, that is why I keep coming back and few times I took some of my brothers and sisters and cousins to experience Turkey and hospitality of Turkish people.
This wonderful way of life (making their own butter, yogurt, soap) amongst other lovely traditions still goes on in the village I lived in for ten years. The happiest years of my life I might add. Our neighbour Hallam, 106 still washed her clothes in tin bowls outside our window at the rising of the sun calling out for her dead mother “annejim annejim” Thank you for sharing your lovely memories x
Seni seviyorum Mick Amca. You make me smile and bring joy to my heart. I just shared your story with my Turkish wife of 23 years. I wish you always well.
Great video Mick as always. I do have to agree with you about the people in Turkey, they are so friendly and very welcoming, they cannot do enough for you and treat you as family. We have been holidaying in Turkey, especially Hisaronu Fethiye for 15 years, twice a year, we won't go anywhere else, when we come over it's like home. Beautiful country, beautiful people. All the best from England.😊
Thankyou Mick for your great videos. We have been going to Turkiye for 26 years now since we both got married 2nd time around then. We bought a holiday home in Datca, had it for 16 years before selling it because husband took a stroke there but thankfully he has recovered. We go back every year to Fethiye now wnich we love, so know the area well. Been to many countries, have travelled a lot but Turkiye has won our hearts. Looking forward to returning next Year God Willing, Inshallah! if we are spared both 80 years of age now, sadly time running out. Must look out for you both next year if we are able to return to Fethiye.
I found this video entertaining and interesting. I love listening to you and find your wife sweet too. I've been to Turkiye several times and find the people and country absolutely fascinating.
What a tease!! So many questions - what happened to the lodge? When did the lovely Trudie enter the picture? Where are your Turkish children now? You may have answered this in previous posts but are you a citizen of Turkey- being married to a Turkish woman , did that fast track that option? I was also a holiday rep in Turkey - late 90’s I was also so impressed with the friendliness of the people. So much so I married one! We are going on 25 years! Living in the USA. Eager for the next part of your story Mick. 😊
You are a true legend uncle Mick. Thankyou for your contribution to Turkiye and spreading awareness and learning about the Turkish culture and forna and flora. Also loved this clip about your experiences and hope you do more of these in the future ❤
Thanks Mick, really enjoyed this post. I just wanted to say, the soul/spirit is a powerful thing and can determine who n what you are, not necessarily your DNA. I've known people of all walks of life feel a love and kinship with Turkiye and astoundingly turks that hate it and have strong desires for other places. I love Turkiye and everything about it. God bless the kind and generous Turks that love their country and make it a very special place. Appreciate your vids.
Uncle Mick, you are a Turk now. Just like the Greek-Turkish singer "Fedon" or the Armenian-Turkish rock artist "Hayko Cepkin", you are also Turkish Uncle Mick of British origin. Because Atatürk's words, "How happy is the person who says that i am a Turk", actually means "How happy is the people who live in these lands and feel themselves a Turk". This is its subtext and deep meaning of Atatürk's word. Best regards, we love you Mick Amca !
Hello Mick love watching the two of you and your love of Turkey and felt we had to visit which we did last year with my Daughter and Granddaughter and absolutely fell in love with the People and Country and I am Greek but born in Africa carry on the good work
I've really enjoyed your stories, Mick, and I've been following your channel since 2020. I've always looked forward to your videos, and I have to say, Trudie has become such an integral part of the channel. Seeing you both together makes the videos even more enjoyable and fun. I'm originally from Iran, with Azeri Turkish as my first language, and I've been living in Australia. It would be amazing to meet you both in Fethiye one day!
What a coincidence.! I left Türkiye for America, 36 years ago 😊😊 It was quite remarkable for me to see what you have revealed about your experiences in Türkiye on this video..! 👍As I have previously commented: " You deserve to be given an ' honorary citizen ' award by Turkish government.! You have been doing a fantastic job, Uncle Mick.! Heartfelt Thanks to you and Tante Trudie.! 🙏🙏❤❤
Thank you Mick - you are a credit to Turkiye - your love for this amazing country & it's people is evident- it is a pleasure to watch & listen to you & Trudie (I never miss your TH-cam sessions) 👏💖👍🇦🇺
I think it's maybe better to hear the transformation our country has been through from a foreigner as an insider. As you probably are well aware of the troubles our country has been going through in the last couple of years many people think that our country is becoming unlivable but through your eyes we feel more attached to our land. When you're in the bubble sometimes you can't see the whole picture. Thanks to your videos we always get the chance to see the country from a different perspective. By the way, the quality of your videos, in terms of tecnicality, has increased dramatically. The latest episodes of your journeys spanning from Eastern Anatolian cities to western parts such as Bursa, Çanakkale; from Southern to Northern Türkiye is one of the best documentarial products I have ever seen. May be you should be bestowed with the honour of honorary ambassador of Türkiye since your videos contribute to the advertisement of our country. By the way I think you will mention about your marriage to Trudie since you've just talked about your first marriage and early days of your presence in our country. Thank you very much again...
That was a very touching rendition. One can feel the love you have for the country. It also made me sad to think about how much the country and people have changed...
Very interesting, Mick! Thanks for sharing this with us. I love Türkiye and its people and I keep going back there. I wish I could afford to stay for longer periods of time.
I just love this video. I adore your sincerity and how you say things. Long life to you. I never meet any nation like Turkey. They are so lovely and caring. I personally love Turkish people. I want to say thank you and Trud for this lovely videos. God bless you all. Thank you. Cok Tessekuler ederim.
Merhaba Mick... Jim Amca here... Wonderful stories. I, too, have been traveling to Turkey since the early 90s. I met my Turkish wife in London. Ironically, I had the same feelings about the environment and "Paradise" as you. I was among the many international teachers London imported in the early 90s. My wife and I lived in London for 6 years and then 2 years in Istanbul. My job fell apart in Istanbul. Otherwise, we would still be living in Europe. Sadly, I wish my Turkish was as fluent as yours. I recently purchased Babbel with the hopes of taking my big salad bowl of Turkish and improving upon it. Cheers Mick... I check out your videos as I see them and have recently started following you and Trudie.

Happy to hear all the lovely memories you've had in Turkiye, the one which is about making yogurt at home was very popular among the folk before the supermarkets got scattered everywhere even in the villages. Thanks for the nice thoughts over cultural differences.
Lucky to have you and Trudie here in Turkiye with us mate. I personally learned a lot about my country just by watching your videos. You're one of us now :) God bless.
Nice video Mick. Thanks a lot for all your videos about Turkiye. They helped us to decide where to visit (Marmaris & Fethiye so far) and I'm sure we'll visit again to one of your hot spots!
Hi Mick amca! My baba introduced me to your videos from TH-cam! We watch it together as a family and it’s one of our favourite things to do! Wishing you all the best and thank you for sharing! Much love from Australia! 🙏❤️
Mick Amca, me and my family live in somerset, a neighbouring county to dorset, but my mums turkish, i love turkiye and me and my mum get excited to watch you and trudies informative videos about places that we dream to go aswel. we would love to meet you and trudie one day and we love you for what you do, not only supporting the local community but promoting them aswel. we look forward to more videos, maybe you can do one in Mersin, our home city?? safe travels ❤️
Good morning Mick & Trudie, you Mick are truly a wonderful example of a really kind & inspirational Human being and I am so proud of what you have done & do.
Mick amca (and Trudie) I've been watching your videos from South Africa for a few years now. Always very informative. You are treasure and an inspiration. Currently studying the language and looking forward to visiting Turkiye one day. Teşekkürler ederiz. Ellerinize sağlık.
You are such a kind couple we have been watching for a long time. Listening to your perspective about Turkish as a language is very important for me because my husband is also British and you gave me a great laugh when you mentioned about the book which is called Turkish in 90 days! I assume learning English is much easier for all other nationalities because of all films, books etc...But still you are doing an amazing job between cultures, so go on!
I don't really know what the secret of Turkey is. Whoever visits it once would love to go there another time. People are so kind and helpful; besides the country is amazing. There are lots of places to visit and explore. I was so happy and curious to listen to your stories. I have watched a lot of videos for you and wondered how a foreigner would have stayed that long in Turkey, speaking its language fluently. Now I understand. Loved this video very much!!!
Mick Amca (and Trudie Yenge, of course) you have to tell us more of your adventures and experiences! Lots of love from a Türk living in the UK for almost 30 years 😂
It's always good to see your videos. I hope you keep making many many more. Yes, Turkey has changed over that time period, personally I always like to see the rural life that I saw over 20 years ago, rather than the glitzy centers they seem keen to develop. Keep up the good work!
I've been watching your videos for 4 months .Im so grateful for you to that you've been mentioning about my country's good aspects Altough we've been through tough times as a country that related animals, women, childiren. This is hopefully for us Thank you❤!
Mick Amca. It is so nice to hear that your life in Türkiye has been a wonderful experience and that the turkish people have loved you for who you are. I'm half Turkish Cypriot from Melbourne Australia. It's such a lovely story. 🤲❤️
That was very nice Mick, share more of these please .... me and my turkish wife watch your videos regularly .... lots of love to you and Trudie from Memphis, TN
I never knew some of that stuff about you Mick, I enjoyed that. including that you were an ex holiday rep too! I was a rep in the late 90s in Turkey first. I didnt know about your rubbish video too, just watched that, brilliant! We go on holiday every summer now to Fethiye and ive been hoping to bump into you! my youngest boy loved watching your videos to research where we going to go and what we'd do on holiday the first time i took them
Wow thank you so much for this great video of insight into who you are. I really loved it, and if I may ask can you please do some more, as I'm sure all your followers would love to know more about you and later during these type of vlogs more of Trudie. Totally loved what you 2 do for us. Thanks. Gloria from Pretoria South Africa.

Yet again a lovely video from you and thank you both ! We’ve been watching your videos for quite a while and they never disappoint. ❤
Uncle Michael, what a lovely and interesting man you are,god bles you and Trudie.
Mick and Trudi hope another 36 years 🙏👍 we look forward to seeing your videos, thanks 🙏👍🇬🇧
Samimiyetiniz için teşekkürler 😊
❤❤LOVE YOU MICK AMCA & TRUDIE! Keep up the good work!
Mick Amca. It is so nice to hear that your life in Türkiye has been a wonderful experience and that the turkish people have loved you for who you are. I'm half Turkish Cypriot from Melbourne Australia. It's such a lovely story. 🤲❤️
Absolutely fascinating . You've been holding out on the stories, Uncle Mick!

I didnt know about your rubbish video too, just watched that, brilliant! We go on holiday every summer now to Fethiye and ive been hoping to bump into you! my youngest boy loved watching your videos to research where we going to go and what we'd do on holiday the first time i took them
