I just finished a chair painting (sound familiar?). And l learned this past Saturday that one of my pastel paintings was chosen for Honorable Mention out of 53 paintings by other artists exhibited at a local art show. HOW GREAT IS THAT? And prepping your own canvas board, I will give that a go now. Maybe take thin cardboard strips to hold down under clips till glue sets, may make less clip marks, not sure. Gutting old hardback books, large-skinny ones work great...then use as U did, filling with all sorts of substrates, inside of cover made envelopes to house small thumbnail sketches... also, into making "not" junk journals... just beautiful paint, collage, texile journals...best wishes on ur June expo. Filming more about your trip ? to use in future video segments when you describe whatever ... need to go back and find the quick moment you shared about that great vase😮. Like when U show a still pix, just always need as few more seconds to gaze on the gorgeous works of art. Shorts anyone ... as in TH-cam or X. Ann

I bought a set of stabilo woody pencils after watching your video. Im in the US and they have them on Amazon. They even have a larger set. I love them! Love a chunky pencil so you can really get in there with it. Also stabilo goes over so many mediums.

You don't see them on the shelves here. I have some in my cart. Yes I agree the Spring colors are so inspiring. Lovely sketchbook idea. May I make one suggestions. As a sewer, I cut the 90-degree corners before meeting them and glowing or sewing them down. Less bulk.
Not sure how to add a photo , beyond my skill set but on holiday last year found an amazingly useful flat plastic clip board box which stores lose papers etc and has a substantial clip to keep paper anchored . Not as much fun as yours but one of those special holiday finds . Hope you come across a few treasures in Lisbon, have fun!

Woodys are sold in the US, Blick Art Stores has them as does Amazon US. Would you mind sharing how you finish your paintings, I've found that Gloss Medium is too glossy for me but Matt Medium too dull. I've also tried a leveling gel but didn't like it either... am I being too picky? TIA and have a lovely holiday and hope you have stunning weather!

I make my own sketch books all the time……I use watercolors paper. And usually my own creative cover and back! I use a drop cloths

Mix half gloss with half matte to obtain a semi-gloss
I like the idea of mixing half gloss and half matte....I will be giving that a go !!! Have a great week X
