- Looking for a short but interesting family walk near to Glasgow, with beaches and castles? Then this section of the Ayrshire Coastal Path is for you! This is a trickier section of the Ayrshire Coastal Path, featuring some sections of hard walking on rocky and slippery foreshore, though beautiful tiny harbours and the potential for some panoramic coastal views reward the intrepid walker. It is essential to check tide times before leaving Dunure Harbour - a high spring tide will necessitate a bit of a wait or a tricky scramble.

My neighbor didn't want to give me his shed. I roasted his feet over my firepit and now the shed is mine! It's an ol' timey trick but it works.
Fairly spot on LOTR reference.
Haha, thanks Seth! Glad you enjoyed the LOTR reference 😄
Nice video guys. Very different. Something I would be interested doing.
Thanks Alan, we’d definitely recommend it!
Good video guys. Nice meeting you on tinto hill today Douglas 👏 keep up the great work with the channel. Brian
Thanks Brian! It was nice to meet you and Sharon today too 😃 -Douglas
@HighlandHikers always good to see content creators we follow on the hills. Enjoyable day all round.
I've walked and run this section a few times. Looks like you missed the section that climbs up into the fields and goes along an old railway line and has great views out to the sea.
Alistair did tell me there was a section on an old railway line, but I don’t remember seeing it! Must have been because we stuck to the beach due to the tide being very low. -Douglas
I am one of the kids I’m Adam
Adam, you weren’t even in this video 😂
Funnily enough I walked the first section of the coastal path, Glenapp to Ballantrae today, coming from Ayrshire I’m very familiar with this area but have never done the coastal path….something to look forward to on days when the mountains aren’t accessible….best wishes guys,
Steven 😊👍🏴🏴
Thanks Steven! How did you find the first section? As you say, it’s always good to have some options when you can’t get to a mountain 😃
@@HighlandHikersif you stick to the walk highlands route it’s an absolute dawdle, good path/road throughout….you can come off after 3.5 miles and tramp through the long grass/electric fences/bulls etc but I just stuck to path lol
@outofayrshire143 sounds good, thanks!
