    Coop is such a good dog! Even when confronted with naughty cows. Beautiful views, thanks for taking us along on the adventure. Be well

      Yes! He's very good with livestock and wild animals and tends to want to just press on with the job at hand (finding sticks or stones for me to throw). Thanks for watching :)

    Was out walking in Norwich today before the show & met an old lady who recognised my Ayrshire twang. Said she grew up in Girvan. Can't wait to get home for a bit in November! Love getting a touch of home from the videos! Keep up the great work pal!

      Haha! I wasn't far off it! There was a lot of info that I kept out, there is far too much history around here.. I'd like to do things like local interviews and featured spots in the towns as well, but then it goes beyond just going a walk :o Thanks for watching!

    Should've malkied they coos 🐄🐮 they love chasing you eh. amazing what you find on the beach. Another great video Scott. You'll be able to write a book on the coastal path. stunning drone shots of the lighthoose. 😎👌

      Haha! Just imagine you lived in a field with nothing to do and some roaster with a dog came wandering through ;) Glad there were no calves or bulls though - that would have been a different story!
      Aye, there was a lot I cut out so it wasn't just a big history lesson - that torpedo was from bombing run practices where planes would drop them onto a couple of wrecks just off shore as target practice! :o
      Glad you liked it Kev boy, the vids don't do well on the auld TH-cam, but they're great fun to make and the trail is an amazing way to explore the coast (PS. they drone shots are from a couple of years ago before I sold the thing, haha!)

    Great video. I was looking at walking from Girvan to Ayr and wondered about the direct route from the lighthouse rather than the detour. I couldn't find anyone that had done it. My understanding is that the outdoor access code lets you walk over a course asking as you stick to the edge of the fairways and don't obstruct play.

    • @outlawedlandscapes
      @outlawedlandscapes  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi! Thanks! Aye, I’ve walked the course many times and I’ve never had an issue with anything/anyone, it’s nicer to stick to the coastline anyway - I’m always surprised that there isn’t just an easy wee path from the course into the harbour though, perhaps cutting through Malin Court, though the harbour beach is accessible if the tide is low.

    Those Coos were very interested in coops a bit worrying but you got past safe, looked a nice walk don't know if I would want spend a night in that gun post though, ATB, Les.

      Aye, I make sure there are no bulls or calves prior to venturing through a field - the heifers are hard enough to control when docile 😅😅
      I think it would be a good wee spot if it was cleaned out and had a few candles installed, absolutely no wind or rain getting in there 👌🏻

    Those cows would have freaked me out! I don't think I'll be doing the Ayrshire Coastal Path any time soon... though it is beautiful and I loved hearing your stories about the landmarks. I got chased by cows a few years ago when I was doing a wee walk in Yorkshire. They were leaping about, looking menacing - but someone has since pointed out that they may have been excited because they thought I was bringing their feed. I was taking no chances though and leapt over a gate to escape.

    • @outlawedlandscapes
      @outlawedlandscapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Needless to say I avoided the field with 4 HUGE bulls in it.. haha! Aye, they get excitable about new things - especially dogs. It's just the size of them and the fact that they move as a herd that is disconcerting. The only time I avoid them is when a) there are calves and b) there are bulls. Otherwise the heifers are friendly/inquisitive.
      Thanks for watching :)

    Excellent view of that section and lots to think about.
    The bloody coos strike again 🙄😂
    There looks plenty to prick your interest along this route and for me the old military links (look out posts, torpedoes, bunkers) are brilliant looking.
    I wish Sid could do the long routes still and I bet he wishes he could too. The experiences and memories on these trips are what it's all about for me and the effort in sharing the places is not lost on me.
    Again, excellent stuff. How many stages have you left to do?

    • @outlawedlandscapes
      @outlawedlandscapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks mate, it's not the WHW, but it's home and there's a lot to see along the way! :D The cows seem to LOVE Coops, every field we passed by, they were right at us having a good keek!
      The military presence is definitely still very prevalent. That bunker sits at the top of Maidens harbour, another one in the fields just behind the town, there are barracks/raid shelters in the trees surrounding Turnberry Hotel, a Comms bunker at the crest of the hills behind the hotel, washed up Torpedo's, (rolls royce) engine components scattered through the dunes and under the sand and a LOT more. Definitely worth rooting about around there :D
      Ah, I've been wondering where the wee man was. As long as you can still get out and about with him though, that's time to cherish. I always feel a wee twang of 'one day I won't be able to do this' when editing sequences with Coops in them and it hurts :o
      In terms of the ACP, I've got Glenapp > Ballantrae > Lendalfoot > Girvan to do (which will be excellent days with what might be the best terrain/views of the entire route) to complete the Southern section, then Ayr - Skelmorlie to do in its entirety.

    Watched this last night, but forgot to leave a comment. You love the coos eh. 😂 The nicest bit was the lighthouse, otherwise it wasn't the most inspiring section of the ACP. 🤔 Is that a wee tip of the cap to Hazy for the 'aaaiya' dead animals?

    • @outlawedlandscapes
      @outlawedlandscapes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aye, that and Rab C, haha! It's a nice walk, but there's a lot of agricultural stuff on the go - plus the constant presence of the A77 is a bit of a moodkiller. Still, the next sections (Glenapp to Girvan via Ballantrae and Lendalfoot) feature some of the best views around these parts, so I'm looking forward to getting stuck into them and going a bit off piste!
      Defo love the heifers, even if it isn't necessarily me they're into! xD Thanks for watching!
