Loving this series. Will fat bike some of this when I visit my folks in Girvan. You make it look quite appealing when I know from experience it can be utterly miserable.
Thanks Pete, glad you’re enjoying it! Aye, there’s a few bits so far that you just want to get done and by with, but I bet a bike would make that easier 😃
Excellent walk Scott, I've done from Greenan Castle to Irvine on the Ayrshire Coastal Path before, but I really need to get myself back out and do few more sections this year. Atb Glenn.
Thanks for watching Glenn 😁 Aye, it’s a lovely walk, would have liked to show more of it, but that rain meant filming was bare bones. Just needed to get the head down and press on 👌🏻
Nah, certainly not 😄 Aye, I’m quite happy with how dry I was at the end. I’d left the side vents open on the jacket and ended up with wet sides though 😯The trousers are really cheap packables from sports direct. They’re really light and seem to do a good job, the trade off being they’re not very breathable and aren’t a good cut.
Good video. Speaking as someone who has made more than one walk much harder than necessary by failing to eat, I have to agree with your comment on tarps. The zPacks Pocket Tarp is built for the job and only needs one pole or stick but there are cheaper options. Much cheaper. To confirm my daftness, I only realised the Brig o’ Doon was real when cycling by it - and I had cycled all the way down river from Loch Doon!
Nice one Squire. Those cows were funny, they're not wild though. :P Bit of a wet one for you, looks like Greenan Castle will drop into the sea one day. Maybe not our lifetimes though. 🤔
Haha, aye, just local dairy cows (don't have a patch on those on the Isle of Eigg!), dead friendly but they don't know their own size 😅 I once played with a wee calf like it was a dog, had a great time until it decided to charge me and took the wind right out my sails.. haha! #ayrshirelife The rain was a total pain, especially as the miles dragged on, but it was good experience for the longer distance walks in the future. A few wee tweaks here and there to iron out any issues. Not sure about Greenan though, as the bedrock is still very strong and I believe it's positioned where it always was. Dunure castle is the same, although the land has slipped over time.
I used to moan n bitch about Ayr(shire) but it's so pretty if you get up aff your arse and go and explore it. Granted I never appreciated it until I started traveling abroad myself
💯 Mate. There are so many places out there that lie undiscovered. Walking the ACP has already shown me places that I’d totally overlooked - and I’ve been up and down the coast so many times with my camera I can’t believe it! Thanks for watching 👌🏻
Great video! You mentioned a guide book, where can I get it? I'd like to do this wal but going the other way from Ayr to Cairnryan. Also, have your videos for day 1 to 3 disappeared?
Hi mate, thanks for watching! I've been keeping quiet lately, but I haven't filmed 1-3 yet. Hopefully I'll get a chance to do them soon as I have a bigger plan for those sections. There are two guidebooks, which are both great; Cicerone - 'Ayrshire and Arran Coastal Paths' "Ayrshire Coastal Path - James A Begg" - this is my favourite and features a lot more local detail :)
What a great dog!
Beautiful. I love gray rainy days by the sea. Amazing video. Thanks for taking us along.
Thanks for watching Gigi, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Aye, it’s got a special ambience to it, maybe not for walking long distance though 🤭😂
Very nice Scott. Well done 👍
Thanks Hubert, I hope you're doing well 😀
I enjoyed watching your video, Keep it up!
Thanks mate 😊 Glad you liked it!

Picked a good day for it Scott good stuff, that top plank on the style at 2.58 swings up to let you through btw. ;)
I did wonder after the fact... haha! Aye, it was braw, eh 😅 Still worth it though, a few cracking wee spots to revisit!

@@outlawedlandscapesNobad for sports direct like.
@@Kev_Russ aye, I’ll get an upgrade at some point, just expensive for such a simple thing 😑

I’ll look into that, a lightweight and packable tarp would be a bit of a game changer 😊
Hahaha 😂 that was quite some distance! 😄
Good walk I've not done it I think I will soon
Hi John, aye, it's a nice one - especially when the weathers a bit better and you can enjoy the views! 😀

That's true, I suppose its not crumbling like parts of England in the South.
