I realized soon after I posted this that I actually missed a scan that can be skipped, and it was for an interesting reason too, so I'll just pin it. Exeggcute can be skipped as a scan because of the NPC who has a shiny Exeggcute in the gen 7 games, and fighting him has the same effect as scanning the QR code for shiny Exeggcute.
Also technically forgot to bring up that the Pyroar gender differences don't matter I guess.
EDIT: I'd now suggest scanning Eternal Flower Floette's QR code, on the off chance it releases in Legends Z-A and this entry carries over from Bank!
I guess the Unfezant gender differences aren't counted as well.
It's really strange how they treat gender differences though, in SwSh they actually have different pokedex entries for, for example, Unfezant and Frilllish/Jellycent genders.
In general I wish they actually treated all gender differences as actual forms (especially the very distinct ones) of just get rid of the small ones altogether.

I wish they actually give the Caps Pikachus actual shiny forms even if they aren't available (with that one exception with the lock fail).
That said, I think quite a few shinies should be able to be gotten with the DNS exploit, which isn't actually hacking and if you count things like the Pomeg glitch as fine I think the DNS exploit should be safe too.
I mean the DNS exploit is the same as using pkhex and giving yourself the wonder card, its a third party hosting the wonder cards, they're just accessible due to a hardware exploit with the DS. Either way, the DNS exploit doesn't have anything the QR scanner doesn't also get. That being said though, yes, please give Capped Pikachu a real shiny, one of them is legitimately available through official means.
I don't have an issue with people using the DNS exploit either for the record, I left in Platinums versions of Darkrai and Shaymin working for a reason, but if something was only available through the DNS exploit I wouldn't be able to count it.
Technically the QR codes are also third party, but I'm fine with them because I'm not connecting to an unofficial server, and in theory, they could be stumbled into by accident if someone was making random QR codes. Pomeg Glitch also doesn't require an unofficial server to function. I'll probably bring this up next video though either way.
This’ll be outdated soon, but there will be a Rowlet community day in Pokémon GO on January 6th, so if there’s anyone who currently has Pokémon GO and needs a shiny Dartrix for shiny Hisuian Decidueye, you can catch a shiny Rowlet during the event and send it to HOME to evolve in Legends. Hope this might help some people.
While I personally will not be mentioning Go Community days, if one happens to be going on for a Pokemon that would make it easier then by all means, its worth going for. I think I used a Rufflet from Go Fest's global event when I got Hisuian Braviary actually.
@@SaltedNeos Yeah, Pokémon GO has saved me a fair amount of time with catching shinies for HOME. Heck, a while ago during the Hisuian Samurott raid event I straight up caught 2 shiny Hisuian Samurott. For some reason shiny Pokémon are generally just way more common in Pokémon GO without even including stuff like community days, which I honestly really like, since it makes shiny collecting a lot more easy and fun for everyone, and I don’t think they’re SO common that they reduce the value shinies have.

9:40 You can also use ACE in gen 4 to get any event or shiny. You can also edit their original game location to make shaymin transferable.
Doesn't DP only have ASE, there's no way there's an existing script which can edit the origin game of an existing Pokemon.
@@SaltedNeos It has ASE and ACE. If you watch Retire's video, he made a legal shiny Manaphy from scratch (which took a lot of minutes and it's outdated, but it's possible)
@@danius88 I have seen that video before, but I checked again, and yea, I did misremember. Either way I wasn't trying to get every single method for each Mythical I mentioned, just a couple examples, as I already knew I'd miss at least a couple methods with how broken gens 3 and 4 are nowadays.
