@@lorsal That's a fan project to port the base mechanics of the game in s&box. It won't even be a game, just a fun thing to look at imagine the "what-ifs". They'll add the classes, the stock weapons, a map or two, they'll make it open source and publish the code to github and that'll be it.

Aside from the bots, I just hate the lack of consistency that the game has that could be fixed in a spring cleaning event, things like visual bugs, outdated hud images, class images, blue scout wearing red scouts pants because of a texture error, first person models like sniper with no watch and 2 gloves in first person, bad cosemtic clipping issues, bad default settings, outdated game lighting etc.
All this stuff if updated and cleaned up would make the game more polished and up to date with modern standards, hell tf2c has done all these fixes and the game looks so much better and less outdated visually than base tf2

Oh man I knew something was off with blu scout’s pants. Every single other blu team member have blue pants but blu scout just have brownish pants for some reason and it looked as hell.

It took Valve months to bring tiny little updates for this bot problem, which didn't actually help. As you said. This is a muli-billion company. Why are they not fixing this problem? I don't get it.
I am no game developer and know almost nothing about coding a game but it should be possible for a gigantic gaming company with plenty of talented people to fix this problem? There is barely one casual game without bots.
They left us,at this point we have to make fun for ourselves with the scraps that we have left

Because they're still making money and if they can still make money by doing nothing they will do nothing. TF2 starts getting forgotten then they'll probably do an update.
TF2 is built on spaghetti codes. One small change in anything will probably cause consequences that you wouldn't expect. Take SFM for example, anyone who tried using it for big scale projects can tell you how messy it is. Even stuff from Lazy purple behind the scenes video proves this.

What a diamond in the rough this channel is. Quality edits, enjoyable gags and commentary, and a mutual understanding.
I kinda felt cheated when I joined tf2 after the bot “fix” and couldn’t talk to the community. It felt just unfun to try and play when I can’t tell people to help defend my engie base or that a scout is the spy.
I played a ton before that update hit...
But after? I felt distant from a game that brought back the "old-gem-of-a-game" feeling I felt with Psychonauts or Halo CE. Worse yet, you can't even use Shouts without a 5 dollar pay-wall, and the problem is, it turns TF2 from a place of "fuck around and find out" into "yankee with no yankee" for players who can't actually put money into the game.
TL;DR: I have a stick up my ass after a bullshit update that is most likely starting to ruin the fun for newer players with fresher-than-fuck or fucker-than-fresh steam accounts.
@@robotizedcyborg7788 I think you can upgrade to premium by "test running" a weapon and it only costs a few cents. I can't test this myself because I was stupid and decided to upgrade to premium by buying all the Heavy weapons.

I hate that the optimizations and bug fixes have been fixed for them. Team compress 2 used the source leak to fix the bugs so it’s a drag and drop for valve.

Tf2 source code is like spaghetti wire in a server room... To clean it up you have to get rid of everything and start all over with new code. It's unsalvageable
Tf2 (and portal) was like an extension of half life 2 showing that FPS games can still be more than run shoot duck reload kill heal repeat so that the FPS genre could be revived temporarily thanks to the orange box

It sure was there, but it was a really rare occasion that a bot sniper headshotted you. 1 out of 30 games had exclusively just 1 freakish sniper bot like that and even that was voted the fuck out of the server.

There’s 2 part time people working for TF2, there’s people who want to update it, there’s people that would try to fix the source code, but valve says to them that isn’t a major priority, they have to innovate

are you insane? people (me included) would pour waterfalls of money into the game if there was a full update, without counting that regularly updating tf2 would easily launch it into the mainstream (the youtube algorith already seems to love tf2 content, if the game was regularly updated, there would be more youtubers playing it making it more popular). A couple of years ago everyone who owned a pc for the porpuse of playing videogames would have at least tryied tf2, as of right now many more children of the younger generation own a computer, but many of them probably dont even own a steam account, a little bit more media coverage would probably introduce younger people to the game and steam

Valve doesn't care about money. They own Steam. Half-life:Alyx made them barely anything and yet they're miles more interested in something like HL:A than they are in tf2. They want to innovate and in their eyes, there is absolutely nothing innovative about tf2. They're probably gonna give it the Half-Life:Source treatment and never mention it again.
2:00 The update that improved vote kicking was actually huge. Before that 1 bot was enough to kill huge parts of the enemy team and if someone tried to votekick it, it would just leave and rejoin. Now leaving during a vote is causing you to get a ban on the server and it is much harder for bots to come back to servers they've been on. I've played a few games today and evertime we encounterd a bot we kicked it and it never came back. The only exeption is when you are outnumbered by the bots but that's pretty rare.
Yes but it’s also worth mentioning that some bots join in duo’s or squads and when the vote kick is initiated the bots will vote no so they don’t get kicked out and some of them can even start a vote against actual innocent players best thing we can do at this situation is to report and try kick them
Nope bots can leave during a vote without getting kicked. The update doesn't even do its main function
@@malone8364 Them duo queueing together isn't an issue unless it's more than 3-4 (can't seem to find a consistent number for the threshold). Once there are 4-5 bots they can't be kicked

Another FPS thats being destroyed right now is Titanfall 2. The servers have been hacked and no one can play but Respawn have done nothing to try fix it.
Man they are manily focusing on apex its just sad how another master piece like titanfall 2 its being destroyed like tf2 and the thing is its just really really sad how 2 communities are waiting for a big update for years or even a small one to fix the prob but nope. And i think respawn cant really work on titanfall 2 because of EA, like they EA gets a lot of money on apex so they will make respawn mainly focus on apex legends just for the money

I'm pissed. For all of the same reasons you outlined here. Valve needs to fix their game if they intend on advertising as a product for consumers to enjoy. They have the resources, they can get the manpower, but they just sit there with their thumbs up their butts. It's infuriating.
Seems like the only way to get shit done these days is to make a big stink about it until someone does something. I'm down for screaming at Valve for a bit.

The problem here is that they can probably do something, but they don't. There's a handful of community-driven updates that could genuinely be great, but Valve hasn't greenlighted any of them since... what, Jungle Inferno? Blue Moon? Invasion? I don't know anymore...

You forgot about music bots. If they dont kill your ears, nothing else does. But it's a very good video, congrats!
What hurts more about the anti bot fixes is that they don’t work half the time. Like a wave of bots join the server, some of the bot series won’t call a vote, whether the update or they’re not that kinda bot is a different matter, but the other bots instantly call a vote before anyone can kick them despite being there for 1 second. By the time the vote ends all the other bots are suffocating the vote system and we can’t do jack

What's crazy to me is that despite all this bullshit it's STILL one of the most fun games to play, which shows just how far ahead of everything else it is and has been.
i feel like neglecting the game is such a horrible choice for valve. theyre thinking might be "ah well it's popular and we give cosmetics so theyll keep playing it and we can focus on other things," but they fail to see how nobody is having a good time and expect community creators to do everything for them. they have the power to fix everything they ever could about tf2, which would definitely be beneficial to players and valve, since the community will be more satisfied and therefore more loyal to the game, which would ofc be good for valve and its reputation to boot. but no, they would rather try to pacify and milk the community than find something that would be sustainable for everyone.

How about joining a game with like 5 bots that automatically take your name then kick you in the span of like 10 seconds
It's always fun when 4 snipers join a game, look up all the time, follow someone, blast music through chat, and somehow the text chat doesn't work.
If you mean the chat going blank, it's spamming spaces - if you open the console and scroll up, you can see exactly who is doing it
I like how the edits are similar to Battleblocks theater cutscenes. Probably not done on purpose but the script writing is good too. It's just cool.
TF2Classic (the mod mentioned in the video) fixes a lot of visual inconsistencies & problems such as the Grenade Launcher having actually four barrels and being properly reloaded, Sniper's inconsistent arms First Person/Third Person arms, ugly viewmodels, BLU Scout's red pants etc.
These could be easily modded/ported over to TF2 except for the Grenade Launcher, as the pipes appearing/disappearing is done via code not to mention the fact TF2 has War Paints which would probably require the modification of all War Paints when updating the model.
Stuff like the Loose Cannon and Iron Bomber could get easy fixes with custom animations, which is funny since the Loch n Load got custom animations in 2014 to fix the 'dropping grenade on the ground' problem, but without making two separate reload animations for each barrel and without changing the stats back to 2 max pipes I have no idea how one would fix Loch n Load. Great video though, keep it up!
Luckily, I installed both TF2C and OF before VALVe did a bit of trolling.
Remember, blame VALVE for letting this game fall, not those 2 and a half of Valve employes who are sacrificing their free time to work on this game
