@@katm8128 Damn, that's interesting. I wonder what the thought process behind that was. Stormwind graveyard out of all places.. Thank you for the response!
Who lost everythin? Home and family? Erm... Thrall and pretty much all of the orcs? Arthas and pretty much all of Lordaeron? The night elves? The blood elves? Illidan? Saurfang? Anduin?... What about them?
@@texanplayer7651 other characters and races having lost a lot, doesn't invalidate the statement that jaina lost a lot as well... so, what's your point?
this song very much expresses longtime affection, frustration and deep sorrow, the picture in the video is so fitting to her emotions, drowning in eternal lovesickness
Lady Proudmoore is one of the most tragic heroes of warcraft universe. She lost everyone and everything beloved, faced her owned nightmares alone. How not to love her?
Im familiar with wow lore man thank you but some backgrounds such as jainas are quite interesting since most people don't even care reading it! I agree though, that both Arthas and Illidan had it worse, as they should, cause they are main characters :P Now one of the little things I like about warcraft's lore is that everyone has a little story behind him and most of the times it worths mentioning.
Such an epic, touching music... Especially 8:48 - 9:27 I played Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne when i was 11 years old and i LOVED Jaina. Her design, her phrases, her sweet and peaceful yet strong personality. I cried when she had to kill her father to evite another war with the Horde :( I still like Jaina, i can feel her suffering and i can almost relate to her. I think she is one of the best developed characters in WoW. Why? Simple: She gave everything for peace, for the Horde, for her people, and THAT'S how they paid her. Destroying her city, her homeland, her people, everything she loved. Put at her position: if those ones whom you defended destroyed your city and you had the power to take revenge, how would you react? I guess that you would kill them... And even then, Jaina didn't. She had the revenge in her hands and, for the sake of everyone, she threw it away. Imagine the self control she had to do something like that. Obviously, she already hated the Horde, and yet she did everything she could to keep the peace and do the best for the Sunreavers in Dalaran. And they betrayed her... Again... AND STILL, HORDE PLAYERS AND EVEN ALLIANCE PLAYERS ARE SAYING THAT SHE IS A CRAZY B**CH???!!!!
La Esmeralda Jaina fell into despair like Arthas did. When Arthas lost Andorhal, he took it out on the citizens of Stratholme. Had he sought another path, Jaina, Uther, the Mages of the Kirin Tor and the Knights of the Silver Hand would have supported him. In his rage and zeal, he isolated his allies, and sought vengeance instead of justice. And the world suffered for it. Jaina could have sought the support of the Kirin Tor, of Varian in Stormwind and even Velen who held considerable influence given his role in restoring the Sunwell. Had she not given in to rage, Varian would have brought Silvermoon back into the Alliance. Those responsible would have been brought to justice. Instead, she took her wrath out on innocent civilians, drove Silvermoon back deeper into the Horde and her allies would suffer for it. She walks a dark path now. I can only hope with Medivh's re emergence in return to Karazhan, and both her and Thrall being key characters in BfA, that she can be redeemed.
Concepts are all well and good, but if Blizzard fails the delivery players don't care. To a player she seems frantically going from innocent, overwhelmed and sad to a person with only vitriol and no remorse and back, depending on what the plot needs. Blame Blizzard for telling her story that way not the players for their experience..
@@Prod.Jayfie In warcraft 3 after helping Thrall in mt hyjal she built up an alliance with thrall. When her father came to Theramore he killed any orc he could find so she turned a blind eye as the horde came to Theramore. Her father died in battle there.
whoever doing the story for jaina is doing a great job remember the more shit you go through the tougher you come back from it, a truly epic hero she is
SPOILERS LOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK: When i heard this in BfA when Lady Katherine Proudmoore found Jaina i cried instantly such a powerful cut scene definitely one of my favorite soundtracks yet
I have to admit Jaina was never one of my favourite characters but I always liked her. I've been obsessed with her amazing theme for a couple of days, it's just incredible! I feel like it's tragic yet optimistic.
Jaina's story is incredibly tragic. I pity those people seeing her as "weak". Most people would probably just have giving up in her situation. She got pressure from many people, because she's a leader. She have always been a talented mage, but have been through so much. She saw the fall of her kingdom and the death of her teacher, Archmage Antonidas, all performed by the hands of her love, Arthas. She managed not to fall insane from that. After having put Arthas to rest, she still tried to reason with the Horde's newfound Warchief, Garrosh, that turned her down everytime. And then, when she had done nothing wrong, her only remaining home got destroyed by Garrosh, a chosen "warchief" by thrall, one of her best friends. I say, Jaine is stronger than most WoW characters. Even though she might have turned a bit insane, I am sure she can easily restrain herself and return to her former state of mind. She is the definition of hope in my eyes.
Her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore was also slain by Thrall's forces in Warcraft 3, his fault mostly but still she prolly lost most of her known kin
(SPOILERS!) “My daughter... Forgive me. Forgive your father and... forgive yourself.” My favorite cinematic since Fall of the Lich King... not even kidding. FeelsSadMan
This is a woman that has been through so much shit (Spoilers) Aided in the Killing of her father her mentor Antonidas and the Original Dalaran destroyed Then the destruction of Lorderon Watch Arthas become the Litch king Watch Kaelthas Sun-strider go insane (They knew each other) Helped in the Killing of Arthas was helpless when Theramore was destroyed its just so much for one woman to go through and ive probably missed a few things to
Oh, so it's Jaina's theme! Lol, I always went to Stormwind cemetery just to listen to this beautiful music. Oh, but it makes me feel so nostalgic... It's like this music tells how much she missed Arthas... :'( WotLK was the best expansion in my opinion. But I also love this WoW very much. The Pandarians are awesome!

"When my brother Derek was killed, my father swore an eternal oath to destroy all orcs on Azeroth. I always wonder how I would handle a loss like that. Honestly, I just pray I never have to find out."
This is in my opinion the single greatest track of WoW music. And that is a difficult decision because there is a lot of amazing music in WoW. Especially around the 8:45 mark where it goes a cappella. Goosebumps every. Single. Time.
Only WoW could create such masterpiece as their music... I literally listen to WoW soundtracks on a daily basis whenever I'm not actually in the game. It's simply soothing and nostalgic, and - it never gets old.

One of the most tragic love stories inside the Warcraft Universe. A corrupted Paladin seeking revenge for what the Dreadlord Mal'Ganis did to his people, only to forget what is truly called "Love". Risking everything to try and stop Mal'Ganis by purging a city by the name of Stratholme. What was once a noble city now turned to ashes and ruin all because of the corrupted Paladin who broke the Mage's heart so much, she broke down in tears in a single meeting with Uther of how to stop the fallen Prince. Destined to meet again in the cold winds of Northrend, besieged in combat upon the Halls of Reflection amongst 5 petty strangers who would indeed turn into 20 to stop the fallen prince and return him to that of which he should remain. Death. The lady moved by a series of events to find her beloved prince only to fall at the knees when she believed that was the turning point of her life Saved by the Gunship of the Alliance returning them to Tirion Fordring who led the siege of Icecrown upon the citadel. No matter the cost the attackers had to save Bolvar Fordring to control peace between Alliance and Horde alike or so they thought, climbing to the very pike meeting blade to blade Deathbringer Saurfang, the lost boy in a event known as the Wrathgate: As when the boy falls, the king himself looked down upon the corpse to notice in the distance his father conquering the winds of Northrend, the battle towards the Alliance gunship of which Muradin had thought he had seen the last of the poor boy's father No. He had just discovered Overlord Saurfang moved throughout life and death itself to gain his beloved boy, imagening what the ceremony held within Nagrand shall bring him. Jaina: Moved by the current actions of her king known as Varian struck a tear down her eye. Once the adventures braved the challenges of Icecrown itself the time to meet the Lich King had arrisen: Striking, clashing, fearing for their lives in the art of battle against the King of Death itself. Jaina: Supprised of Arthas' intensions of keeping the Locket of which Jaina herself had gave him. Fell down to her knees once the locket had returned to it's previous owner. " Oh Arthas... I knew a peice of him was inside... All this time and he remained who he was... Oh Arthas" was all that had been said by the Magi. Knowing her lover shall remain within her heart for all eternity until the day she is to meet the fallen Prince once more, for a life spent together as Arthas and Jaina.
+Hegster551 The part of the lore I loved in this story is the " She don't love you anymore " of Kael'thas Sunstrider to Arthas Menethil on the icrecrown.
I'm not certain if I've ever listened to this music without my eyes tearing up. Even if I hadn't played WoW for 14 years and had no connection with any of the characters, truly, this is beautiful music.
Quite simple, actually. It doesn't matter what she has gone through - what she does is her choice. Always. I can empathise with her. I can feel sorry for her. But becoming what she is now is no different than Garrosh's descent into rage and hatred. And no matter what factors were involved, it was her own integrity that failed, just as it was with Garosh. "- *You* made me what I am!" - No... *You* chose your own destiny." That is all.
Marcin Barczyński IMO, the difference is control. Even with all the antagonism Jaina feels towards the Horde [understandably, considering the number of times they backstabbed her], she held back. As she said in her cutscene with Anduin during Landfall, her first instinct was to utterly decimate Orgrimmar. An eye for an eye. Frankly, had the tables been turned, I think Garrosh would have done the same to Theramore, and Theramore would have probably deserved it. The fact that Jaina held back and came to merely re-align the Kirin Tor and strongly advocate against the continuation of the Horde and orc-kind shows the amount of restraint she still exerts. Frankly, Jaina worked tirelessly to mitigate differences between the Alliance and the Horde. For years, perhaps even decades, she was the best liason between the two factions that either side had. For Garrosh to then whirl around and nuke her city, I can't blame her overflowing hatred much at all.
I can most certainly blame her for the innocent folk of Dalaran that were killed because they weren't Alliance, ending with a radical overhaul of a historically neutral Kirin Tor.. Then her rash decision to dry and flood Orgrimmar, where tens of thousands of innocent lives would've been lost. Add to that, the continued defiance of her king (much of which is discussed in War Crimes) especially with the breakdown of negotiations of the blood elves returning to the Alliance, which would've been a decisive victory for the Alliance. All because she couldn't see pat her misguided, deep-seated hatred of the Horde, and because she couldn't differentiate a Thrall from a Garrosh. I'd say she let both sides down by trying to always be the good guy, and because it bit her in the ass one time she loses her shit and KILLS INNOCENT PEOPLE! No, fuck Jaina, she isn't the first to be past redemption, but she still sucks.
Since there's no timeline in the video, use this one 0:00 to 1:45 = Jaina (violon) 1:45 to 3:33 = Jaina (flute) 3:33 to 5:20 = Jaina (begins by flute with violon) 5:22 to 7:01 = Jaina (smooth beginning with violon) 7:05 to 8:45 = Jaina (smooth beginning with flute and trumpet beat) 8:45 to 9:28 = Jaina (only vocals) 9:28 to 11:12 = Jaina (smooth beginning with flute and violon and trumpet beat)
I discovered this masterpiece a year ago and I listen to it almost everyday. This is the most beatiful and moving soundtrack I have ever heard, feelings are so strong with this one.
A world of fiction. Thats what Blizzard came up with... A world of fiction that brought me to tears. Sometimes i want to escape from this boring reality and become part of something like this.. Gues thats why we have wow :\
Moonfall Blizzard is my life... (kinda) everyone wants to escape somewhere... I want to escape to the world of Blizzard... be a mage/warlock in the alliance and meet with Jaina... have power to teleport to Diablo universe or even starcraft... that will never happen... who knows, maybe some scientist will be able to make some realistic gaming... Like oculus rift is just a beginning!.... I am crazy :D I hope that we can talk about it again, bye ;)
+Ob Pavuk I disagree. The game has changed, but at the same time it hasn't. I can still travel to Ashenvale and enjoy the scenery and music that filled my mind with wonder back in 2006. I'm not a child anymore, but the unbelievable experiences I had playing wow have changed me forever. For us that grew up playing this game, I don't think we will ever really leave.
Ganaa Dany There was that cutscene, which approved that even as a Lich King, Artahs loved Jaina. After he was killed in 3.3.5a, there was a quest regarding some kind of item taht Jaina once gave him, and he was having it all the time. It's just soo sad story... It's really sad that it passed 5 years ago already, I still remember playing Wrath of the Lich King as a teenager... oh and Warcraft 3 when i was just 9 yrs old... Good old memories... ehh, I'm only 19 and I'm already having hard time to remember my childhood.
Ganaa Dany one thing why i loved wrath of the lich king was that it was some events jaina and arthas/lich king meet and jaina tries to help him but it is immposible for he has lost his soul
Ganaa Dany one thing why i loved wrath of the lich king was that it was some events jaina and arthas/lich king meet and jaina tries to help him but it is immposible for he has lost his soul
Ganaa Dany may be the next addon she could do it) 'cause NerZul wasn't sent to the Azeroth as a Lich King) ...or he will be the One Allmighty Lich King who didn't charmed Arthas in next addon when all the good guys return to the Azeroth? UH! dat Blizzard!
Ganaa Dany For me, since Kel'Thuzad said Arthas and Sylvannas were almost equals, I hope that in the alternative timeline King Arthas and Ranger-General Syl became good friends... or made a bunch of half-elves together :D
***** Indeed, also in the last three dungeons of WOTLK you can see Jaina wanting to release Arthas and not to kill him. What I truly missed from the death of the Lich king is Jaina's cry on his body and Sylvana's happiness for taking revenge...
i just read the book, how can people say those things about her? no wonder she lost it, seeing everything and everyone you loved dead, turn to dust by touch right in front of her its just to hard... i really hope she gets a happy ending, she deserves it, she lost to much and sacrificed to much, i know she wont be the same ever again but i really hope kalec helps her :(
I loved the reference of this song inside the memories of Jaina :) But i missed to see the other bad things what happened to her. Like the destruction of theramore, uther's death. kaelthas's betrayer, that she leaves the Kirin Tor and so...
WAS DAELIN RIGHT OR WRONG, YO? I still don't get the message they were trying to send at the end. Forgive your father...but Katherine also says that the Horde makes its intentions clear and would see them burn? So I don't know?
she suffered too much. people used her kindness as their tool. I'm a horde player and always loved orcs in W3 but she was an angel... I just hope she don't turnout to be a raid boss in legion. RIP sweet and charming Jaina. QQ
This music touches my heart and all my emotions with sadness, I can't explain why exactly but seems like a perfect funeral song to remember someone beloved.
I'm so glad they brought this back from MoP. I love travelling to Proudmoore Keep to hear this, and I always linger around the keep when I'm passing by to get a nice dose of the atmosphere and song.
I still remember in ICC, when Jaina cried because she was proud of Varian's actions. Honestly, I didn't like her before, but now, seen how hatred effects her, I just wish that Jaina stay the way she was, innocent. I am not even an Alliance player, but I hope someday she can stand with Anduin and say "I am proud of my king.". Just like the way she told Varian.
***** Hahah, I find the love story between Arthas and Jaina even more tragic. Even although Arthas was encased in the LK's armour and was cursed by Frostmourne, he still loved her. He still had her necklace. And in Heroes of the Storm, whenever I play Arthas he's like "Jaina..." and she's like stfu! we got a battle to win... just breaks mah lil heart D;
If anything, this is actually Rhonin's theme. He was a great leader of the Kirin Tor, and when Garrosh's agents dropped the bomb on Theramore, he teleported Jaina to safety out of the city and contained the blast of the bomb to just the mage tower he was in. He saved the lives of many that lived in Theramore, including Jaina's, at the cost of his own. He even knew that the Sunreavers had no part in the destruction of Theramore, and told Jaina to exclude them from her judgement once she became the new leader. Rhonin helped lead the assault against the Lich King, fought against Archimonde himself during the destruction of Dalaran, and even took down Malygos, the dragon that had given the Kirin Tor magic in the first place. He was one of the most compassionate magi to ever live in the Warcraft stories, and it is in his honor that this music plays in the Stormwind cemetery. You can hear both the sadness of his death and the greatness of his life in the music.
clearly you didn't read any lore, or played warcraft 1-3. Judging by the your rhetorical capabilities i'm not entirelly sure you even know what a book is. So as of now, i'll just ignore you. good day!
I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music from WoW I have ever heard. The mood, everything about it is just perfect. Well done, Blizzard. Well done.
Even though WoW is just a game in respect, this poor woman has gone through so much and this song I think just represents her strength and her despair of what has happened to her even though she is tipping toward the deep end up but when you really think about her life it makes since that she is starting to break apart, she's lost her father (I think her brother) and the love of her life I hope Blizzard isn't to hard on her for a while I think she deserves a break with how much effort she has put into her people and should be given peace to dream of times between the horde and alliance where they could work together.
Geez...Varok Saurfang lost his parents in war, his only son in war, his wife in war, is traumatised through war, was raised in war and spent all his life in war including his late 80s in which he is now. Jaina is still very young and has not seen nearly as much as Varok or some other orcs. Talk about Nerzhuls feelings when he discovered that really everything he did to save his people just speeded up their downfall and that everything he did to protect his race damaged them - he is one great failure created by the tricks of Sargeras of which he, the real lich king, is the eternal enemy and likely the most powerfull being in the cosmos next to sargeras as Nerzhul cant be killed nor his power broken. Talk about Thrall having jhis parents murdered, his clan almost wiped out, his roots lost, raised as a slave, becoming war chief just to make one wrong descision that ruined all the work of his life. What about Voljin, loosing his father and most of his people in just a few days?
***** Nerzhul was the most powerfull shaman of all, stronger than Ghuldan able to crush an entire planet into pieces, something even sargeras couldnt do, he is completly immortal and he cant fall - only his vessels can be destroyed and he put to rest for some time. besides that he is the only thing in the universe standing against sargeras and leaving alive, well, at first at least. Also he was the orc creating the horde and the orc trying to prevent the corruption. Besides that, yes jaina is a great character but what is her fate compared to kaelthas or pretty much any bloodelf or compared to Arthas? Arthas may be the most tragic figure of all doing everything in selfless love for his people and yet, like nerzhul, failing despite doing everything he could out of the most noble motivations...
ArphenMaethor And yet, Nerzhul fell to Anakin... hum excuse me Arthas quite easily. And I don't think he "crushed an entire planet into pieces" voluntarily. He fell victim of his own power greed and tried to master magics he didn't fully comprehend. He was powerful, but not that powerful. Anyway, Jaina lost her father, her lover got mad and they were forced to kill him, she lost her master, then again her next master, then her apprentice alongside a very dear friend and all the citizen that she ruled for years... All that to the spoiled brat Thrall put on the Horde leadership, the same Thrall she trusted and respected. The rest of the Horde was not entirely innocent of that since many Horde leaders knew about Garrosh's plan and participated in the attack. Go for it Jaina, if Varian don't want to dismantle the Horde, you'll have to do it on your own !
I honestly feel that this may be one of the most touching themes written for a video game/movie. It hits every note right. There's so much sadness dripping from this, but there's also determination and perseverance. It's absolutely perfect for the character and her story and it just gives me freakin' goosebumps every time I hear it. When the choral progression kicks in to accentuate it is just... shivers. Alllll the shivers.
(Spoilers ahead) Well, Jaina Proudmore is now someone with a reason to hate the Horde deeply. All she believed in, all she tried to protect - Theramore, a piece of land which could be considered "the beginning of a long peaceful era" and its inhabitants (such as Kinndy. Never forget) - got destroyed by some random fuckin villain which managed to destroy a faction to create one of his own. And worse, he manages to escape justice. I've got only a single thing to say: Jaina STILL has Antonidas' Staff. And it's empowered with the Thunder King's strength. Don't you also forget that, even without *us* or Y'shaarj, Despair, Doubt, Fear, Anger, Hatred, Violence and Pride still exist. Somewhere...
I am sure that your profile name is true so I'm not going to write an essay or something but look. It's not the horde that detroyed her "OOHH SO LOVED TOWN AND FAMILY" But Garrosh. If she wants to then she can kill him. (Which she will probably do) Did you ever look at other people? Like Sylvannas whose Arthas destroyed whole family and 90% of her kind, tortured her and made her suffer then turned into a banshee to suffer even more. She is (was) so mad at Arthas that she even killed a goup of horde soldiers trying to kill him at wrathgate. Jaina next to her is a kind little puppy that hasn't lived bad for now.
MrDarkentro First of all Sylvanas never killed those soldiers at the Wrathgate. There was a betrayal in the Horde and the Forsaken there were led by Putress. And also Jaina has lived through a lot of bad stuff during her life. For instance, during the events of Warcraft III she had to kill her own father to preserve the peace with the Horde. Also she had a brother that was killed by the orcs in the Second War. Then her boyfriend i.e Arthas turns into one of the most evil beings on the planet, and finally after the bombing of Theramore she gets betrayed yet again by the Sunreavers. So I don't believe that Sylvanas has suffered more than Jaina in any way, shape or form.
MrDarkentro True Garosh dropped the bomb, but when the attack on Theramore was issued, all horde races participated in the attack. Therefore you can't say all other races are inocent. Who had it worst? Veressa. She lost, Alleria, Sylvannas and Rhonin. I bet if someone destroyed your city and killed almost everyone you loved, you would react just as Jaina did.
MrDarkentro Garrosh did not go alone to drop the bomb, his soldiers obeyed, his people supported his attack on a neutral city, following orders isn't a good excuse and nuking a town full of civilians is a war crime. (yes I know the irony of it)
CatroiOz Vol'jin and Baine did what was best for there people, as did Sylvannas and Theron. If Garrosh was crazy enough to start a war with the Alliance and bomb Theramore can you imagine what he would do to them. Using dark shaman magic and steal powerful magical artifacts for the Blue Dragon Flight. On top of that he was stupid enough to piss probably the strongest mage in all of Azeroth. If I was in there position and had to care about the safety of my own people I'd do the same thing. I mean Baine even sent a message to Jaina warning her. In the end they honestly had no choice.
I love how so many Horde players call her the "Lich Bitch" and are finding all sorts of reasons to hate her. She's such a complex character who was the cornerstone of reason and strength in the Alliance for so long, and how is she rewarded? Everything she loves is taken from her- Arthas, Theramore, her father. Yet Horde players can't understand why she hates them even after their Warchief nuked Theramore and killed so many Alliance heroes. If the Alliance did that to a Horde city, they'd be calling for blood and justifying every drop of it along the way.
"complex character" Heh, right. Also, JAINA is the sole reason her father died. She stabbed him in the back. Him, and his men. The only one she can blame for the destruction of Theramore is herself.
Rykanable Her father was a selfish bastard. All he knew was his hate about the horde and "creatures" who look like members of it! The only one who can be blamed for Admiral Proudmoore's death is himself.
I'm a horde player and I really love her character. She seemed like the most realistic character out of all of them. She tried her best and was thinking of a better future. But the betrayal has lead her down a dark path. Most people at this point either become tired and worn out and full of spite and regret, or they learn to let go and move on. It seems like she is undergoing one of the most valuable obstacles/lesion of life. I feel sad for her :(
Haven't played wow, read a bit of lore. But even with this small background I feel how beautiful this music is, especially combined with this picture. Can't stop listening. Thank you, whoever wrote this melody.
@@morgan13756 they didn't abandon him. Listen to what he says. He remembers helping you as a young hero even acknowledges the quests he sent you one and how much you grown. He was happy that it was you who brought him down. He didn't agree with garrosh but he would do anything to keep his oath to the leader. His last moments was him being bested by the hero he trained. He died an honourable death.
if things get the way it seems, Jaina will probably overtake Anduin in the throne. The child knows nothing of reign and politics and it's showing it. It's only use is to be a facade for the other leaders to hide behind, but then he will surpass its usefulness and cast aside. Remember, Alliance is monolithical but not necessarily honest between each other.
Man, I cried like a kid when I finished reading "Tides of war". I really love what Christie Golden made. She turned young and a bit naive character into mature and strong leader - and it took only one book. I wish we had more Christie Golden.
What i like about Jaina is that it's real character development. she has gone from a kind soul who wants to bring horde and alliance together. And now she hates the horde. In many cases blizzard is lazy when it comes to character development. IT's always some "Spooky artifacts" That forces characterses to go from good to evil" Or some "Voice". In jaina it's nothing like that. That is wat i love about her lroe. I also like garrosh lore.
I hope Jaina is able to be peaceful and the voice of reason once more. Remember in Wrath Varian was reckless and wanted to destroy the Horde but it was Jaina that stopped him, sadly they have switched positions. I always did admire Jaina's strength to defy hatred and destruction, unfortunately she has become her father: jaded, spiteful, bitter, and full of hate, i'm hoping in WoD some orcs on Draenor befriend Jaina or something so that she doesn't stay so vindictive and reckless.
She lost everything and the last bunch of Lordaeron's population was decimated. Then the bells from Dalaran were taken. Do you understand how upsetting that would be? She got her heart torn out and then a slap to the face. She was always standing up for the Horde and seeing the good within, and look what happened to her. Her kindness was taken for granted/weakness and it cost her a city of human beings she protected and guided from the Scourge and Arthas; people she had a connection to. That's like your entire family dying right in front of you. She has every reason to become spiteful and bitter. It would be horrible character development if she remained a sweet, loving and gentle person.
Naveese She definitely should have changed, but I thought Jaina a stronger person than what she has become. Take Varok Saurfang for example, he lost pretty much everything he ever loved, fought under the legion's influence and then regained his free will (only to be haunted by the horrifying atrocities he committed for the rest of his life), and he not only is rational and reasonable. He shows honor, mercy, and respect to all. Jaina has every right to be angry and vindictive, but it's weak to give in to those destructive urges. The respect I would have for Jaina's character would be immense if she were able to control all her anger, maybe she still can.
***** She was only willing to stop the attack on the sunreavers due to Taran Zhu stating the obvious, that the cycle of violence won't be ended with further violence, something that Jaina understood long ago but has now forgotten. Yes revenge is justified but to what extent? "As soon as men decide that all means are permitted to fight an evil, then their good becomes indistinguishable from the evil that they set out to destroy." --Christopher Dawson I'm pretty sure in the books Jaina is sort of regaining her rational mindset, but I just hope she retains her rational mentality. Whatever, new Jaina pisses me off and she has now gone down in my list of female warcraft characters, Sylvanas takes the lead.
It's the only game theme that affected me so much. This music, in composition with the picture, reminds me of person, who suffered a lot during life, passed away, and feel "No more pain". In one side it's good, because his pain is over. On the other hand, it's so sad to lose this person. Just to be clear, it's not real story, I always think that way about Jaina while listening to this music.
This illustraton of Jaina is kind of Heartbreaking , poor girl always wanted the best for everyone to end up with destroyed home and nearly herself killed
I feel just like you. WoW was the greatest game ever for a while, and to some people it probably still is. It is with great joy i remember my first guild and the group of friends I used to play with every day. However, people goes on, sadly. Now all that remains are those sweet nostalgic memories of the moments that made WoW the best.
I've always been horde since vanilla, but this book, lore and music really got to me in a personal way..even the music describes the emotions and feelings troughout arthas and eventually the mana bomb...
Jaina, you will always have my sword and spells at your command. I fight for the true Alliance and I will never forsake the memory of those who died in Theramore. #FortheAlliance
I still like Jaina. She's violent and hateful now, but only because she has been scarred. Her spirit is broken, and needs to be fixed. She's tried her whole life to see the best in everyone. She'd never given up hope that a lasting peace could be achieved. And only now, after witnessing the genocide of Theramore, has she finally faltered. Is she to be despised? I don't think so. I think she needs a chance to see the good in others again.
I think its not true that her spirit is broken and corrupted. She suffers from the loss of her friends, relatives, students, people and kingdom. She lost everything, only Kalecgos is here for her now,and the alliance. She wants to be fair, she wants to drown orgrimmar.I would do this too.As everyone else would. But she will kill Garrosh anyways.
Geci Rohadt I never said her spirit was corrupted. And when I said spirit, I did not mean a literal spirit. And as for "She wants to be fair, she wants to drown orgrimmar.I would do this too.As everyone else would." 1. Not fair, as the innocent civilians in Orgrimmar did nothing. 2. You're sick for thinking you'd do it. 3. Only other people like you would do it.
Geci Rohadt The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. To actually DO good is the challenge. Genocide of the orcs would have just sparked another war and reignited the cycle of hatred anew for decades long after all of us. That doesn't mean we Alliance had to lay down and take it, and not bring the Horde to task; we most certainly did. I mean, Varian more or less made it clear to the Horde "I can crush you anytime I want; you only live because I will it". But I too hope that Jaina's broken spirit is mended. She is drowning in grief, in sadness and death. Everything she had worked for at GREAT sacrifice to herself for over ten years blew up in her face (literally) in a matter of ten seconds. The betrayal of Aethas Sunreaver and his followers who aided him (notice I didn't say ALL sunreavers) only drove that painful knife deeper. Jaina is a walking, open wound as she is now. She's not insane... she's angry, and sad. In truth, she would much prefer to be gentle. But sometimes, the best in people is ripped from them without pity or remorse. After reading Tides of War, I'm only further convinced that Garrosh should be drawn and quartered and his remains burnt to a char so that there can be nowhere for his followers to mark him. And Gorehowl? It should be locked in a vault in Dalaran, never to again taste the blood of the innocent.
the game itself may be changed, but the memories I have, the life lessons I was taught and feeling connected to the warcraft entity and its characters will always remain. Which in my opinion was worth the money and time I've spend on Wow. The fantasizing about the world will continue every once in a while, That is what makes Wow special. For So many, it is more then a game.
13/03/24. A week before general surgery exam, chilling and playing Hearthstone whilst listening this masterpiece.
One of Blizzard's best. They really have some talent in the music department.
If just the other departments were as good as their art/music department FeelsBadMan
Well Vidya department is good too. every single trailer, pre raid video got me into wow almost instantlly.
quest department suıcks!
What ? Really ? From warlords, questing experience is fucking awesome... I enjoyed 90-100, every fcking minute of it
unless you're alliance, then it's collecting bears asses for you.
This was released in 2012? That´s insane. I literally heard it for the first time in BFA. It´s such a gorgeous song.
Yes, you can hear it play in the isle of thunder periodically at the Kirin Tor Offensive base, and oddly, the Stormwind Graveyard
@@katm8128 Damn, that's interesting. I wonder what the thought process behind that was. Stormwind graveyard out of all places.. Thank you for the response!
Broooo, I barely played in Mists and I discovered that masterpiece back in Legion, I was sooo glad and I heard it in Boralus
@@JumboCod91 I too feel the most nostalgia from MoP. The music and zones are my favorite.
it is a piece, not a song aka a piece of music with lyrics and human singing.

I know. I’m not one to cry easily, but as soon as this theme hit at the very end of her quest line, tears we’re had. This music is moving.
gotta say, alliance campaign in bfa is miles better than horde. The zones, the soundtrack of the zones, man... Shadowlands sucks in comparison
I'm amazed at the way this song manages to sound so profoundly sad and uplifting at the same time. It fits Jaina so perfectly, it's genius.
Victory has ITS prices thats why
this is a woman who lost everything home , family and love nothing left to live for anymore this music is amazing
Who lost everythin? Home and family? Erm...

By her being irrationally written and badly realized.
This captures Jaina's gentle nature and the feeling of loss so well. It was great to hear again in BfA
Do you think Jaina also might become a death knight one day?? Or am I reaching here.
@@coops1992 I really do hope you are reaching here..

Everytime I pass near proudmore keep, I feel a lump on my throat :(
Man, i want this Track on Spotify.
Such an epic, touching music... Especially 8:48 - 9:27
I played Warcraft 3 and Frozen Throne when i was 11 years old and i LOVED Jaina. Her design, her phrases, her sweet and peaceful yet strong personality. I cried when she had to kill her father to evite another war with the Horde :( I still like Jaina, i can feel her suffering and i can almost relate to her. I think she is one of the best developed characters in WoW. Why? Simple:
She gave everything for peace, for the Horde, for her people, and THAT'S how they paid her.
La Esmeralda
Jaina fell into despair like Arthas did.
@@OneOfTheLovelessnah blame the the players, for not reading the books and seeing her complicated growth >)
when did she killed her father? i dont remember it in reign of chaos
@@Prod.Jayfie In warcraft 3 after helping Thrall in mt hyjal she built up an alliance with thrall. When her father came to Theramore he killed any orc he could find so she turned a blind eye as the horde came to Theramore. Her father died in battle there.
The picture is so amazing. It peaks at the mind of Jaina in a much more metaphoric and meaningfulway, than the game ever does.
I love how this plays in the Stormwind cemetery now. Blizzard should add this to the Alliance garrison music somehow.
It plays in Wolf at The Gates track, which plays in the garrison.

whoever doing the story for jaina is doing a great job remember the more shit you go through the tougher you come back from it, a truly epic hero she is
SPOILERS LOOK AT YOUR OWN RISK:
When i heard this in BfA when Lady Katherine Proudmoore found Jaina i cried instantly such a powerful cut scene definitely one of my favorite soundtracks yet
I have to admit Jaina was never one of my favourite characters but I always liked her. I've been obsessed with her amazing theme for a couple of days, it's just incredible! I feel like it's tragic yet optimistic.
Here we are again, 3 years later, this masterpiece has been played again in her vision, finally the vision that haunted her for eternity has vanished
Benjamin Guldager Remember that she let thrall, rexxar and company kill her father.
Roberto Carnero Just because she was a pacifist.
Her father, Admiral Daelin Proudmoore was also slain by Thrall's forces in Warcraft 3, his fault mostly but still she prolly lost most of her known kin
Roberto Carnero humans attacked first :V

This is in my opinion the single greatest track of WoW music. And that is a difficult decision because there is a lot of amazing music in WoW. Especially around the 8:45 mark where it goes a cappella. Goosebumps every. Single. Time.
One of the most epic themes in WoW, it matches the perfection of Jaina. I hope she will be the Queen one day.

Death. The lady moved by a series of events to find her beloved prince only to fall at the knees when she believed that was the turning point of her life
Saved by the Gunship of the Alliance returning them to Tirion Fordring who led the siege of Icecrown upon the citadel. No matter the cost the attackers had to save Bolvar Fordring to control peace between Alliance and Horde alike or so they thought, climbing to the very pike meeting blade to blade Deathbringer Saurfang, the lost boy in a event known as the Wrathgate: As when the boy falls, the king himself looked down upon the corpse to notice in the distance his father conquering the winds of Northrend, the battle towards the Alliance gunship of which Muradin had thought he had seen the last of the poor boy's father
No.

+Hegster551 It is posts like this is why I am glad there is no character limit. Fantastic.
I'm sad, or the post is sad?
I don't quite see how I am sad.
Is it because I have a passion for writing?
+Hegster551 The part of the lore I loved in this story is the " She don't love you anymore " of Kael'thas Sunstrider to Arthas Menethil on the icrecrown.
I'm not certain if I've ever listened to this music without my eyes tearing up. Even if I hadn't played WoW for 14 years and had no connection with any of the characters, truly, this is beautiful music.
So much pain in just one picture. How can you people not see it? How can you people blame her for what she's become?
Quite simple, actually. It doesn't matter what she has gone through - what she does is her choice. Always. I can empathise with her. I can feel sorry for her. But becoming what she is now is no different than Garrosh's descent into rage and hatred. And no matter what factors were involved, it was her own integrity that failed, just as it was with Garosh.
"- *You* made me what I am!"
- No... *You* chose your own destiny."
That is all.
Brooke MacDiarmid In fairness she did tell Varian to butcher the Horde leaders following the defeat of Garrosh in Orgrimmar.
Sion Chambers Not just to butcher - to ambush them while they're distracted by appointing a new Warchief.

I always hoped Jaina was gonna be the one who save Lich King.
Ganaa Dany one thing why i loved wrath of the lich king was that it was some events jaina and arthas/lich king meet and jaina tries to help him but it is immposible for he has lost his soul

i just read the book, how can people say those things about her? no wonder she lost it, seeing everything and everyone you loved dead, turn to dust by touch right in front of her its just to hard... i really hope she gets a happy ending, she deserves it, she lost to much and sacrificed to much, i know she wont be the same ever again but i really hope kalec helps her :(

she suffered too much. people used her kindness as their tool. I'm a horde player and always loved orcs in W3 but she was an angel... I just hope she don't turnout to be a raid boss in legion. RIP sweet and charming Jaina. QQ
JAINA IS MORE THAN A GREAT EXAMPLE FOR ALL HUMANITY....
Flavio Bianchi nope, she is a great exapmle how can a company ruin a charater for money
Ruin a character??? wtf??? She has always been the same...noble..altruisthic,benevolent and powerful...she is the symbol of how humanity should be..
Perhaps the most betrayed character in World of Warcraft.. Jaina will always hold a very special place in my heart when it comes to this game.
Jaina Arthas and Uther were always my favorite characters in warcraft lore. Too bad only Jaina is left :(
and even sadder Jaina not the same girl she was in warcraft 3 anymore...
All I ever wanted was to study..
***** Hahah, I find the love story between Arthas and Jaina even more tragic. Even although Arthas was encased in the LK's armour and was cursed by Frostmourne, he still loved her. He still had her necklace. And in Heroes of the Storm, whenever I play Arthas he's like "Jaina..." and she's like stfu! we got a battle to win... just breaks mah lil heart D;
Freddy Fazbear haven't heard that one yet but sure sounds sad. Other combo quotes are good too
Adam Dobry Lurkablo :"Mrgrlgrlgrlgrl!"
Abathur : "Affirmative."
***** what about Illidan? he was pretty epic too
If anything, this is actually Rhonin's theme.
If he was so good, he should have seen that bomb coming! He failed at time travel! FOR THE TRUE HORDE!!!
***** if blizzard wouldn't favor horde so much, orgrimmar would already be obliterated by the nightelves. :D
clearly you didn't read any lore, or played warcraft 1-3. Judging by the your rhetorical capabilities i'm not entirelly sure you even know what a book is. So as of now, i'll just ignore you. good day!
I never understood why people hate Jaina so much. I love her as a character, one of my favorite ones... and I'm mainly a Horde player.
This picture tells so much about the inner torments.
Some of the best Music in the games history, Words can not express how much I love it.
I can honestly say this is one of the most beautiful pieces of music from WoW I have ever heard. The mood, everything about it is just perfect. Well done, Blizzard. Well done.
8:45 to 9:28 = best part
I clicked it.... Immediate goosebumps.
Yes. Too bad it didnt last that long...
9:28 onwards is good too
when Blizzard was good.
How time flies and giants fall.
That note progression starting at 0:45 is an eargasm.
Such an unbelievably beautiful piece of music. Makes me teary-eyed... and I mean that literally.
Love this song! it's so sad like poor Jaina.
OMG I thought it was a new song for Jaina in BFA, have no idea of this, awesome
Even though WoW is just a game in respect, this poor woman has gone through so much and this song I think just represents her strength and her despair of what has happened to her even though she is tipping toward the deep end up but when you really think about her life it makes since that she is starting to break apart, she's lost her father (I think her brother) and the love of her life I hope Blizzard isn't to hard on her for a while I think she deserves a break with how much effort she has put into her people and should be given peace to dream of times between the horde and alliance where they could work together.
Meh Mehersson The sister of Arthas is still alive too for all we know ;)
Meh Mehersson Derek Proudmore? He's dead by dragon fire according to wowpedia ;P
Poor jaina, lost lover, father, friends. Bear such burden, responsibility of her people, just remind me artha's fate.
and her brother.
+阿煜王 And lost her city, Theramore.
+阿煜王 and her Blonde Hair.
+阿煜王 And her Humanity
and her virginity :(
Jaina Theme and You Face Jaraxxus are my the most favorite wow music :)
Those who are hated most deeply by their enemies are often those with the strongest wills and souls.
Well Blizzard still does some music pieces that are just sickenengly well done. This fits Jaina perfectly.
This actually made me cry. :(
I am literally crying, it's so beutiful
Everything is good - wow classic. No more tears. Still crying
I love when this song plays in the Theramore scenario. I turn my head phones up real loud, until the pretty music is interrupted with orcs dying.
ahahahaha :D
(Spoilers ahead)
Well, Jaina Proudmore is now someone with a reason to hate the Horde deeply.
MrDarkentro
Garrosh did not go alone to drop the bomb, his soldiers obeyed, his people supported his attack on a neutral city, following orders isn't a good excuse and nuking a town full of civilians is a war crime.
"complex character"
Heh, right.
Also, JAINA is the sole reason her father died. She stabbed him in the back. Him, and his men. The only one she can blame for the destruction of Theramore is herself.
Rykanable
"Useful addition to a great comment."
I feel sad for her :(
Rykanable jaina is almost the only character with real human feelings..
Haven't played wow, read a bit of lore.
But even with this small background I feel how beautiful this music is, especially combined with this picture.
Can't stop listening. Thank you, whoever wrote this melody.
This song does a great job of capturing a lot of Jaina's aspects, stories, and personality. Beautiful.
Rico O' Rourke well played
I hope she doesn't become a boss we have to fight. I can't kill her even as a Horde player.
Well. Same happened with Kael, Vashj, Nazgrim.... already killed thanks to dumb wow writing. What is 1 more raid boss? 😑
Nazgrim was so hard. So many amazing quests with him to just abandon him as a middle teir raid boss...
He died an honourable death.
...and was subsequently raised as a servant of the lich king.
Seriously, the DK questline in legion is pretty messed up. :P
if things get the way it seems, Jaina will probably overtake Anduin in the throne.
The child knows nothing of reign and politics and it's showing it. It's only use is to be a facade for the other leaders to hide behind, but then he will surpass its usefulness and cast aside.
Remember, Alliance is monolithical but not necessarily honest between each other.
bro, when I need to let out some fucking feels, this gets them out.
"Come topside, sweetheart" ❤️
you are my favourite jaina... i will love you forever.
Man, I cried like a kid when I finished reading "Tides of war". I really love what Christie Golden made. She turned young and a bit naive character into mature and strong leader - and it took only one book. I wish we had more Christie Golden.
Often those who are hated most deeply by their enemies are the ones with the strongest wills and souls.
Reminds me of that batman quote: "die as the hero or live long enough to see yourself as the villain" or something like that.
***** She was only willing to stop the attack on the sunreavers due to Taran Zhu stating the obvious, that the cycle of violence won't be ended with further violence, something that Jaina understood long ago but has now forgotten.
Yes revenge is justified but to what extent?
"As soon as men decide that all means are permitted to fight an evil, then their good becomes indistinguishable from the evil that they set out to destroy."
--Christopher Dawson
I'm pretty sure in the books Jaina is sort of regaining her rational mindset, but I just hope she retains her rational mentality. Whatever, new Jaina pisses me off and she has now gone down in my list of female warcraft characters, Sylvanas takes the lead.
Better yet, kill her off.
Beautiful I've been crying during all the video
It's the only game theme that affected me so much. This music, in composition with the picture, reminds me of person, who suffered a lot during life, passed away, and feel "No more pain". In one side it's good, because his pain is over. On the other hand, it's so sad to lose this person.
Just to be clear, it's not real story, I always think that way about Jaina while listening to this music.
Ah... Jaina... my dear sweet Jaina
This illustraton of Jaina is kind of Heartbreaking , poor girl always wanted the best for everyone to end up with destroyed home and nearly herself killed
This music is filled with hope.
#forAzeroth
ally nubs
I'm with Jaina forever.
gutspillage she's turning into the Witch Queen slowly....
Im with Jaina!! FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!
And as for "She wants to be fair, she wants to drown orgrimmar.I would do this too.As everyone else would."
1. Not fair, as the innocent civilians in Orgrimmar did nothing.
2. You're sick for thinking you'd do it.
3. Only other people like you would do it.
I'm still sad because she didn't end up with Arthas and made his babies! :(
Geci Rohadt The road to Hell is paved with good intentions.

Theramore seguirá vivo en la memoria de todos aquellos que lo recuerden con el corazón y con el alma.
the game itself may be changed, but the memories I have, the life lessons I was taught and feeling connected to the warcraft entity and its characters will always remain. Which in my opinion was worth the money and time I've spend on Wow. The fantasizing about the world will continue every once in a while, That is what makes Wow special. For So many, it is more then a game.
This is ture masterpiece. This short track completely tells you what happened in Theramore that day...
