    This is the 1st review I have found so far speaking about how apple toned down on the bass level just to satisfy complaining users who do not listen to music with bass as much. Remember, these headphones were designed to give you a hearing experience you usually do not have when using other headphones. I love Beats by Dre because I listen to Rap & R&B music with lots of bass in it. If you do not like headphones which are bass-heavy, buy Bose or Senheisser!

    *I got my Skylines in Desert Sand today.*
    *Had them on for 5 hours as soon as I got home.*
    *I haven't even charged them they came pre charged.* 😯
    *I've worn over-ear headphones before and my ears got warm and sweaty* 😷 *not comfortable or hygienic...*
    ... *BUT THESE ARE AMAZING!!!*
    *Soft! Light weight! Ventilated (somehow) and you forget you have them on because they're so comfortable.*
    *I'm fussy af but I'm so happy with these!*
    I won't comment on the sound because I'm not too fussed and don't take much notice or bother with comparisons tbh.
    *The wireless range (or workable Bluetooth distance) for me so far has been approx 16 meters without cracking up or jumping/cutting out.*

    I just adjusted the equalizer in Spotify to lower the 150hz bass/ deep frequency and that fixed the mid bass bleeding into the higher tones. I also increased the lower 60hz spectrum for a more punchier bass. Overall really impressed with these headphones.

    tafadzwa chinanzvavana Got mine today and have been using them all day. When a guy like TheGamingAudiophile reviews stuff, bare in mind he is being critical, because...well, that’s his job. He is comparing them to all of the other in that class and much of his opinions are subjective. I have only owned beats my entire life. I had the original Beats Studios and now today the Studio 3’s. All of can say, and my opinion is subjective and naive, they are amazing!!! Sound- 10 Noise Canceling- 10 Comfort- 9 Connectivity- 10 Battery- 10 Looks- 11 Call me an Apple fan-boy...these are SO amazing! Btw, they connect to my iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even my AppleTV.

    I also had high expectations and was letdown by the Studio3, especially by the lackluster rolled-off bass but also the narrow soundstage. I currently use the Momentum & Solo3 which I love, & will probably return the Studio3. How would you compare the PX to the Momentum?

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      michaeldproject PX and momentum share the same sort of warm and pleasant sound. The PX sounds more open and dynamic with a better balanced treble in relation to the midrange. ANC on both is great, but the PX's ANC on full effectiveness causes a hit in the sound.

      new Crossfade 2 Wireless Codex Edition, ideal for both general consumers and demanding audiophiles who seek professional grade audio quality. Building on the success of its original Crossfade 2 Wireless, which earned multiple awards for its sound, design, and quality, the new Codex Edition raises the bar further featuring three audio codecs for improved wireless audio quality and universal compatibility. Qualcomm aptX, AAC, and SBC are now available in all three color: Matte Black, Matte White and Rose Gold.

    • @zombieimpact-vi5is
      @zombieimpact-vi5is 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bluetooth audio quality is defined by the algorithm codec and bitrate vs. the version. Listeners no longer need to sacrifice audio quality for the convenience that Bluetooth capabilities provide. Crossfade 2 Wireless Codex Edition gives modern audiophiles the best of both wireless and wired worlds,” said Val Kolton, CEO of V-Moda. “Our new hybrid Codex Edition is shrinking the gap between the sound quality of wireless and wired playback for a sound signature that is meticulously sculpted for audiophiles, gamers and professional musicians, alike.”

    Good review! So Bose or Sony is the way to go for noise cancelation. I wish Bose would use higher end codecs and had tighter bass (sometimes it distorts).

      One consideration on the Sony's vs the Bose is that when the battery wears out on the Bose your out of luck, on the Sony's they will replace it. I just was disappointed at the base on the Sony's.

    You mentioned that the ear pads split. That’s exactly what happened to mines over time or the pads start crumbling up into crumbs after 4 years or so. I believe the beats are designed to weaken overtime so you can buy other beats products because the other beats headphones like the Pros are trustworthy strong but not as comfortable as the studios.

    • @emmaabdul-jabbar3458
      @emmaabdul-jabbar3458 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup thats basically the whole marketing strategy of apple. They admitted to it years ago. Killing off older models, and pumping out newer ones. If you watch youtubers who fix/take apart phones, youll notice everything on the inside is the same. With the newest iphone, this time they made it so if you cracked the screen- got it fixed... the face unlock will no longer work.

    I think this is the most in-depth review I have ever heard. Thanks so much. I am searching for reviews on this brand AFTER I already purchased it. It's on it's way, but that doesn't mean I can return them. The one thing about this review that turns me off on these headphones is the pressure points on the ears. I desperately needed noise cancellation because of my work environment, but this means I would be wearing these 8 hours per day so the pressure points may be an issue.

    • @TheGamingAudiophile
      @TheGamingAudiophile  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maura La Prova Yes, the comfort can be an issue with these. My favorite sounding Bluetooth headphones which are the Bowers and Wilkins PX also suffer from medicore comfort. I would recommend the WH-1000Xm2 or Bose QC35 II.

      Thanks. I am leaning towards the Bose because of the bigger ear cavity and as you said the sony's tend to heat up and the Bose are more comfortable. I binge watched your reviews and they really helped me make up my mind. Tough decision because features of the Sony are more interesting. I like the fact that you can put your hand over the earphone and then someone can quickly talk to you without you having to remove your headphones. I am willing to give that up for comfort though.

      OK. I will. I trust your opinion immensely. The Beats are due to be delivered today, I am not even bothering with them, they are going back to bestbuy tonight. I will get the Sony's, wear them for 5 hours and see if my ears are aching due to pressure points. I'll let you know what I think! BTW: You are awesome!

    I like the Beats Studio 3 for comfort and build. The shape fits my head well and has a slim profile compared with many others headphones. I like the sound quality enough for Hip-Hop and Drum & Bass and at £270 with student discount I can live with the price. The ANC seems good enough but I would like better still as I work in noisey offices and have bat ears so pick up the smallest of sounds.
    BUT....Now the PX are on the market and everyone is raving about them I'm sorely tempted to return the Beats soon while in my return period. Tough choice......the grass is always greener it would seem.
    Is the ANC on the PX better than the Beats because alot of reviewers rave about sound quality but without ANC on. I need noise cancellation so wondering if PX are for me?
    Will I miss the bass for my genres of music?
    I'm reading that people are not really enjoying the comfort from the PX and a hotspot is created by the middle of the band on top of the head. Would love to try them together but no local stores have stock.

      BOSE compared to BEATS:
      Comparing Wireless, Sound Reducing, Headphones . . . . . using with iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro 2015:
      BOSE QC 35 ii
      - [ ] Instruction were confusing compared to Apple instructions.
      - [ ] Iphone / Ipad was fairly easy to sync. Noise reduction was not as successful as I wanted.
      - [ ] MacBook Pro would not work correctly. Connection lasted about ten seconds before disconnecting.
      - [ ] Cannot answer iPhone while using the Bose.
      BEATS (talked with Apple Sales Support Rep. She has “Beats Studio 3 Wireless” over ear. She recommends them.)
      - [ ] Synced with iPhone, iPad, MacBook Pro easily.
      - [ ] Phone calls came through and were answered with no problem.
      - [ ] The sound deafening Beats blocked better than Bose.
      Beats are BEST

    I feel the need to comment right now. I see all these idiots calling him "biased". Bro shut up .
    I currently own the studio 3s and I've owned them for 8 - 10 months, basically since release. At the time of my purchase, I was looking for comfy headphones that provided me with a fashionable look but also kept sound and good ANC in the mix. I thought the beats were perfect. They aren't. They're complete shit. First off, we will list the pros of these headphones.
    (IM MAKING THE PROS AND CONS BASED OFF OF WHAT YOU CAN GET WITH OTHER HEADPHONES)
    Pros:
    Fashionable.
    ANC that does not create the cabin pressure feeling that most bose owners report of.
    A modest battery life and up to par with fast charging. I honestly could care less whether or not if its USB C the lightning cable or Micro, as long as they include it, I'm not really affected by it.
    As of right now, an okay price. Still, think it is not worth the price it dropped down to tbh.
    It's convenient, can fit in small spaces easily. (obviously not your pocket or anything, but can fit in my Nike Tech pocket, which is an okay sized pocket, not jeans but for sweaters it is small.)
    Cons:
    Comfort: Okay so when you first get them, you're not really going to experience this. It comes after some wear and tears from the headphones and gets dirty. But once you do dirty them, which let me say they do get dirty quite fast if you use them almost every day, after about a month of wearing the dirty headphones every time, never fails, whenever you wear the headphones for about an hour, it forms balls on your lower ear which hurts like CRAZY. The pain lasts about a week or two, so if you wear it every day, good luck my friend you're gonna need it. They cause pain on the head, and sometimes on the jaw. If you're fat (no offense) you'll probably avoid the jaw pain.
    Sound: Sound is subpar at best. The mids and lows are existent (finally) but they are still very underwhelming. The bass was noticeably cranked down, to a point where it's barely even there. They're loud though, I'm not an audiophile but after a while I even noticed myself doing it, and noticed that these headphones are loud but not good, because my brain did all the working and filled in the blanks the Beats didn't fill. You catch my drift, they'll be alright in the beginning, but as time goes on you will absolutely notice that you sir have wasted your money.
    Cheap. Ah, here we are, the build quality. Well, I can't blame Apple for this, as this is something that has been consistent with beats even before Apple bought the headphones. My studios didn't snap, but they're the exact same build quality as the solo 3s, no changes. I owned solo 3s, and they snapped with one little tap to my head with them on, therefore I can make the inference that they snap easily too. They're made out of a really cheap plastic. They crack easy, my beats have cracked in so many places. The headband gets loose and flaps, you can see the underpart of the headphones. It is foam. They use a really thin portion of a spongey like foam to provide comfort for the head. No wonder my head hurts so much. The earcups rip easily and get dirty really quick, literally 1 gym session will get them submerged in the dirt. Yeah, pretty nasty.
    Distortion: After about 4 months of owning them, I started getting very rare occasions of my headphones distorting on the max volume. I would be listening to Yes Indeed and there would be some loud THUMPS literally so loud I feel like my eardrums fell out, and it gave me an instant migraine. Now, I get them consistently. I have to keep my headphones at 75% of the volume because if it goes any louder the distortion comes back up. And for non-beats users, literally, a drop from 100% sound to 75% is like the biggest difference ever. It goes from you can't hear anything to you hearing everything. No reports of static though, but it is talked about amongst beats users so that's just something that can be a possibility.
    There's a lot more cons. I just don't want to sit here typing for hours.
    Apple, you've really done it. Selling less for more. If you bought these for 350. me included, yes man we're pissed off.
    Take the new Apple Xs Max 256 gb for a testament to apples ridiculous overpricing. 1350. Thats 150$ more than the rent we pay. I live in New York by the way, a really expensive city. God forbid you get the Apple Xs Max 512 gb. PFFT. kiss your check out the window.

    An “honest” review!? ...or shall we say biased!?
    Everyone is praising this as an “honest” review. Something is not honest just because it’s negative or derogatory. I found several things about this review to be strange and in my opinion this guy seems biased against Beats from the outset. I have watched every review that has come out thus far on the sound of these and this is by far the most negative...I don’t equate that with honesty...maybe just a different opinion/preference. Uravgconsumer said these were way better than the Bose QC35’s...was that a dishonest review? A major reason I am commenting is I feel this review doesn’t give enough credit to the great qualities of these headphones, besides the sound. Obviously sound is extremely important, but not the only factor. The W1 chip is really a huge factor. To seamlessly switch from my Mac to my iPad to my iPhone is HUGE!!! An honestly that’s the biggest reason I chose these over the Sony’s, which can only connect to one device at a time and the Bose, which can only connect to two at a time. When I work I frequently go between all three devices so this W1 chip is groundbreaking. A review in the end is someone’s opinion...and I respect this opinion...but it’s just an opinion...and one that is strongly against some other reputable opinions. Peace!

      Scott Mercer The fact that he said these sounds better than the Bose QC35 automatically discredits his view point and any further viewpoint on sound quality of any audio product thereafter. The new Studios are an improvement over its predecessor, but lacks in comparison to the competition in its price range in sound, build, design and functionality. The Bowers & Wilkins PX sounds, looks and is way better built than the new Studios for not much more money. The new Sony's sounds and is better built than the Studios along with leagues more functionality than switching between a closed Apple ecosystem. People on Androids and/or Windows platforms which greatly ountnunber the amount of people on iOS and Mac OSX platforms couldn't care less about a W1 chip. At the end of the day, the new Studios are decent but not on par with its competition. Case closed.

      There is no closed case, because there was never an case opened. Those are you opinions...not facts.

      No, they're facts. Measurements with scientific irrefutable data will also prove that these are not as good as the competition. It's okay, you've spent your hard earned money on these. However, stop trying to rationalize your decision. They're simply not on par with the rest of the top tiers in its price range.

      Measurements aren't opinions. Metal is a more durable material than plastic. iOS and Mac OS X have hardly any market share in comparison to Android and Windows. These are not opinions. Lol.

    But neither the Sony's nor the Bose's are bass heavy. The Sony's have way less bass than the Studio 3's, not to mention that Beats are way louder.

    You guys don't have good fucking ears these headphones are nice and the sound quality is pure quality. The foundation of the sound quality for these headphones are not the bass. It's more of a mids & highs for you to really hear how clarified the specified track/song/movie/etc// you are listening to is. The audio separation is very pure, I mean you can hear every instrument that is being played. This is a good buy. I haven't used these in public yet but for a flight or or a sound engineer these are definitely a good buy!

      Ummm no. They're decent, yes. But compared to likes of the Sony WH-1000Xm2, Bose QC35 II and the Bowers and Wilkins PX, the Studio 3 Wireless cannot keep up. Enjoy your Beats, glad you like them. I don't.

      TheGamingAudiophile wow. That's blunt 😂😂 btw, getting for approx $200. Spending an additional 100/150$ on the Sony/Bose/Bowers worth it?

      @@danielmorgan1536 because u are average consumer who didn't listen to other high end headphones, or maybe know nothing about sound. 5 years ago when I got beats studio (ver1) and I think they are the best. I was wrong after I listened to those of sennheiser hd700 & 800. This reviewer had listened to many audiophiles headphones and know about sound and u are just an average joe who have just getting ur first "premium headphones" that is why u can be ignorant.

      MrDenlly I have tried other pairs of quality headphones before I purchased my beats so that I could get the best pair for that price and the main competitor (the Bose qc35) in my opinion we’re not as good for me but everyone hears sound slightly different so what might sound good that u might not sound as good to me but it’s all opinion but the vid is very biased and hates on beats which I do not agree with
